  1. I just posted this in the Facebook group we have set up for Pinnacle. (can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/183334265119847/ )

@Jimmy Amp here.... I first saw some friends playing this game in mid-2004. At first I resisted getting it, because I *KNEW* that it would suck me in and never let go. Finally, in Dec 2004, I bought it for myself for a Christmas present and never looked back. I was right, it sucked me in like a black hole. Jimmy Amp, an electric blaster ode to Silver Age comic heroes was the first character that I stuck with and became my main when global chatnames came out. (You should have seen his first costume. Totally Silver Age with the limited options of the character creator back then.) I had started out on Freedom with the group of friends who got me into the game, but when they all quit, I decided to find a new server. When looking for a new server, I saw someone mention on the forums that a lot of Floridians were on Pinnacle, so I picked that one. Eventually I found out that Tsugaru and Zirillion lived about 5 minutes away from me!

I had so much fun in this game. Too many fun moments to list. Honestly, the memories are fuzzy because there are so many. So many friends made, too many to list (I'd be here all day if I tried. Some I've actually gotten to meet in person, hopefully more someday). This has been more than a game for me, it's been a second home at times. It got me through some of the roughest times of my life. It got me through a year and a half of a crappy graveyard shift job that made it so I barely saw my daughter. It got me through antisocial years after my divorce where I didn't care if I ever left my home when I wasn't at work. I feel like I'm losing my home away from home. I'm gutted. I'd feel like crying, but it doesn't feel like I have anything left. I left my subscription active while I was taking a break with SWTOR because I always wanted to come back here. Now I can't.

I'll try to use Jimmy Amp as my main in any online game I play so I can be found that way. (currently SWTOR on Prophecy of the Five server; ironically I can't use that name there; Ampran is my main character. You all should try it out: great game that desperately needs a better community, and this game had the best community ever. It's no coincidence that I'm playing it with people I met in CoH.) Hope to see you all around.
  2. Wow, bAss became a dev. Great job, man, I'm glad you were able to live our dream for awhile. Hope you all find new jobs ASAP. As bad as I feel about losing my second home, I feel worse for you all that are now out of work.

    WB Dee! :-)
  4. No responses while I was in the hospital? No worries. If anyone wants the commissionership, just hit me up either with a PM or in game. Y'all know where to find me. :-)
  5. Soooooo, anyone want the commissionership? ;-p
  6. I'm sure there's plenty of room, no one else has said they're coming back yet. I'll have to look at the league page on Yahoo to figure out how to transfer it. Send me your info.
  7. Hi everybody.

Training camps around the NFL are opening this week, so football season is almost upon us.

I had great fun being commissioner last year and would love to do it again, but I'm sorry to say that I just won't have the time to do the job properly. I've got way too much going on outside of game. Among other things, I'm going to be moving sometime in the near future, likely during the early part of the season.

If anyone wants to take over the commissioner job, just let me know.

    Cheers!
  8. Thanks everybody :-)

I have to wait a little while for that, Jade. ;-)
  9. I like this idea and would like to see the devs explore putting some sort of option like this in the game.

    +1

    Update

Man, I need to check these forums more often.

The cookie jar was empty when I found it!
  11. Heh... I was thinking it was that, but I had to ask just in case, cover all bases.

    Much thanks!
  12. The multiple updaters worked, she's gotten on! Much thanks again!

Are there any client-side tweaks that can be done to help deal with the lag? (Aside from adding more RAM, which is already in the works.)
  13. Thanks guys, it's greatly appreciated! I'll pass the info along and let you know how it went!
  14. A friend of mine just got Satellite Net access through HughesNet. She can't even get the launcher to connect (this is on a PC that previously had no issues with playing CoH on a different broadband connection). I remember awhile back that a number of people were having issues with satellite connections, and I haven't been able to find the information here on the new(er) forums. Can someone please point me in the right direction? It would be greatly appreciated!
  15. I'm currently running Win 7 64 bit and not experiencing any of these problems.

    Asus P5Q MB
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400
    8 GB RAM
    Nvidia GTX285 w/ Nvidia 195.62 drivers

I also have a Zalman 9700 CPU cooler and it's all mounted in an Antec 900 case with all the fans. I don't have any heat problems.
  16. Just noticed this one. The NFL releases who's active and inactive 1 hour before kickoff of every game. The pregame shows on ESPN, CBS and FOX all go over them starting at about noon Eastern, plus the Yahoo site has the info at about the same time. I've had to check them to revise my roster several times.

There was @#$@ing about drop rates in Pinnbadges? Why does no one TELL me these things?!?! ;-p
  18. Get well soon, Posi. This stuff is no fun at all.

Had the flu the last 5 days or so myself. Dunno if it's H1N1, my doctor tested me in the office, came up negative for type A and B, and he just started me on Tamiflu. He said if they suspect it, and you get to the doctor early, they don't bother testing for Swine Flu, since it takes a week to come back. Thank god I didn't procrastinate about going to the doctor.
  19. Ah, too bad man. I wanted a title game rematch! ;-p

It's a little more interesting with only 8 teams this year. More talent per team.
