Jimbo, what are the chances of us doing a Live draft this year? I despise the automatic draft despite its convenience. Not sure how that would work, but it looks like 8 players wouldn't be extremely hard to coordinate and I'd be happy to draft for someone offline using their pre-draft ranking.
Just tossing around ideas. 
It's a possibility, but we'd all have to be able to be there, which is the hardest part, of course. What does everyone else think?

Personally, I agree with Buck, the random button sucks for this.
If we stay with the 8 we have, working out an hours time shouldn't be hard.
If we get all 12, let Yahoo do its job.

Count me in with Buck and Hawk. I've done ESPN online drafts for the last few years and we've been reliably able to get 6 folks on at the same time. An 8 team league should only take about an hour. If we can get a time thats good for at least 75% of the league, I would prefer to *not* use the autopick.

Sweet, so what week did you plan to draft Jim? And what times are good for everyone. I'm usually free after 5pm EST, after that I can shift my schedule around as needed.
After 5pm eastern is great for me as long as we stick to Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Wednesday and Friday, however, might present issues. Friday would pretty much need to be after 9:30 eastern, and I would need to be *done* by 6pm eastern.
But I'm willing to work with whatever is good for everyone.

The one night I work a week changes from week to week.
Personally, any evening after 8pm EST is good for me.

We can do a live draft for the people that can make it too. The people who cant make it just get drafted according to their autopicks. Yahoo usually does a reasonable job of keeping their autopicks up to date if someone just does the default. You can also edit them manually ahead of time if you wish. So I say we do a live draft if we can get at least half of the league to agree on a time.
Any night but Wednesday should work for me. Except for weekends. Weekends depend on time. Usually not available in the evening.
I was hoping to do the draft absolutely no later than a week before the season begins. I thought we'd be filled up before now.
I don't even get home til 8pm eastern most weeknights. A weekend would probably be best.

Obviously weekday during the day wouldn't workout and i have my normal league on the 6th, but otherwise I can make myself available with ample notice.
I would also like to add a live draft is preferable to auto draft to a great degree.
So before Thursday, Sept 3rd? I'm cool with that. I can make time this weekend, just lemme know when. Or the weekend after the 3rd (most of the season starts the 13th I think).
A live draft only takes about an hour. Even if the draft was held on a weekday evening, it could be done in plenty of time for people to be in bed.
It'll be tough for me to pull it off during this coming week. My boss sprung some projects on me that'll have me working late on stuff that has to be done after market close. Saturday the 5th is the day we're having my daughter's birthday party since her birthday was the day before school started. Sunday the 6th would work real well for me. How does that sound?

Sunday, should be ok with me as well. I would prefer after 8 or 9 PM EST because the baby is down for the night by then, but can do really anytime during the day.

I was hoping to do it in the afternoon on Sunday. Early evening on Sundays gets a little crazy for me until 9:30 or so, but that time can work for me as well.
