I would like to see a set with some mixed psi damage in it. Exactly what that set should be to please the most players is up for debate.
Then I would like to see some simple pet custumization. We don't really need a clown set if we can do something like make thugs look like clowns. We don't need elementals if we can make demons look like them instead. etc. It doesn't have to be fancy with full color selection or anything, just something like model swaps we can pick from in the creator. I would think that would be more efficient for the devs in the long run and please as many people as possible instead of trying to create and balance all of the different sets people want from scratch. -
The sonic/dark corr would probably be all around better. I have a sonic/em blaster, though, and it is pretty fun. Power boost doesn't help with -res, but it does help with stun and sleep durations which help make the combo exceptionally survivable for a blaster while soloing.

I've been playing this game off and on since it was about a month old. I pre ordered GR, paid my account up for a year (my fifth between my wife and I), and have been patiently awaiting what's to come. I would love to make an informed comment about this but even though I pre ordered and was active during the weeks it was promised to I still am not in beta.
I've purchased all but the most recent costume pack for my wife and I even though since their inception there has been little to no free content along those lines. We even jumped on the special offer and bought a year of time because GR excited us. Not because of the new power sets or switching sides. It was exciting because we would finally have something to do with the characters we really like. All of those level 50s that are mostly collecting dust.
As much as I have enjoyed this game and some of the people in it I will not be spending any more money on it unless the incarnate system both delivers what it promises and is available, even if in a limited form, before my sub expires. It's been a lot of fun, but I'm sort of fed up.
And, no, my stuff is already claimed so you can't have it. -
I've seen this said many times and I even recall reading a post that explained how it was proved. I've tried bringing it up in game on two separate occasions, though, and was basically told I was wrong and all but called a liar.

Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End, Brilliant Leadership Acc/End, Brilliant Leadership Dam/End, Defense IO, Frankenslot Acc/Dam/End.
This gives 85.17% Accuracy, Damage, and End plus 23.20% Defense with 1.5% global recovery and 4% regen. (and it's cheap)
I have the aura IOs in different pets.
I slot End reduction because after the second upgrade ProtBots can be end hogs.
I persnally do not like slotting ProtBots for healing. I don't like sloting pets for something you cannot count on them doing on a regular basis. ProtBots seem to heal when they feel like it and since I took the Medicine pool it just doesn't seem worth it to me.
(Edit) -
I forgot all about Sandy's binds. Those are an excellent tool for the AT.
-
I would say either Thugs or Bots for pets. Both are good with an easy learning curve but have different strengths. Ninja is considered by many to be the hardest pet set to deal with.
For secondaries I would say Dark, Traps, or FF depending on your play style. I find FF boring, personally. Poison is ok, but it really shines when taking out single targets.
My Necro/Dark and Bots/Traps are both sickly over powered in their own ways and while active neither is difficult to learn. -
My Widow has both Mind Link and Ellude. She doesn't need either being soft capped without. I still put ML on auto to help out the people I'm grouped with and both Ellude and ML help when I am getting my defenses debuffed. From my perspective giving my Bane Ellude would amount to about the same level of utility.

Mantenna: Bots/Traps boy genius.
Lego
Duplo & Tyco
Tinker, K'nex, & Erector
Eddie Lives: Necro/Dark incarnation of Eddie from Derek Riggs' Iron Maiden album art.
Powerslave
The Trooper & The Prisoner
Wrathchild, Tailgunner, & Prowler
Soul Extraction: 7th Son
Castegyre: Thugs/Poison homage to the Joker.
Boy Named Sue
Malevolent Ted & Peeping Tim
Jim the Flunkie, Second Rate Bob, & Fire-bug Doug
Northcrow: Mercs/Storm modern day Storm Shaman (not yet 50).
Wendego
Great-Hare & Little-Spider
Blind-Raven, Lost-Eagle, & Lazy-Beaver -
I don't think it would make that much difference to color most of the pets powers to be honest. Different styles of pets to summon like skeletons instead of zombies would be cool. I suspect/hope that we will get some sort of color customization at some point, though, even if it's minimal simply because of Soul Extraction.
-
I tried a build with a fair amount of melee in it for a while. The attacks look cool, but in the end I just didn't feel like I was performing well enough compared to the alternatives. If you can make it work to where you're happy with it then more power to you. Personally, I'd want more than three attacks in my attack chain, though.

Different people like to slot different ways.
In Zombies I have:
Brilliant Leadership: Acc/Dam, Brilliant Leadership: Acc/Dam/End, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End, Commanding Presence: Taunt/Placate Resist, Sovereign Right: Resistance Bonus
In Grave Knights I have:
Brilliant Leadership: Acc/Dam, Brilliant Leadership: Acc/Dam/End, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End, Sovereign Right: Acc/Dam, Edict of the Master: Defense Bonus.
In the Lich I have:
Blood Mandate: Acc/End, Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End, Dark Watcher's: To-Hit Debuff/End, Dark Watcher's: To-Hit Debuff/Recharge/End, Dark Watcher's: To-Hit Debuff, Dark Watcher's: Chance for Recharge Slow
My Necro/ is also /Dark so I have Soul Extraction 5 slotted with RIP pieces and both RIP auras.
It works for me, YMMV. -
Defense debuff resistance.
I've spent a lot of time getting four builds to where I am very happy with them without spending a mint on IOs/HOs. Even though I think there are a bunch of little things the devs could have done better, I like all four; Fort, Widow, Bane, Crab. I like them enough to be toying with leveling up a Huntsman. The one glaring thing that bothers me about VEATs in general is the gaping hole in their defense based powers that allows them to be so easily rendered useless. -
I leveled up as a pure psi/control Fort from 1 to 50. I really enjoyed it, but after I had the character's build pretty much done I decided to make a pure claws attacks alt Widow build. The Widow kills a bit faster, they're both soft capped where they need to be without Mind Link, and the Fort has more toys to play with. Really, I don't think either is better or worse than the other, they're just different. If you like melee pick Widow. If you like mind bullets pick Fort. If you like both then there's always dual builds.

I don't know about pain, but given /Poison's tier 9 power I'd think it wouldn't be the best fit for Mercs/. I have /Poison on my Thugs/ and that works out well with the Bruiser being a melee pet.
My Mercs/ are /Storm, and so far I'm really enjoying the pairing. -

None of the MM primaries really suck, but some of them take more skill to play well than others, IMHO. If anything is true about the MM AT it's that you can separate the good from the rest by how much effort they are willing to put into playing the AT and not the sets they've chosen to play with.
The Arsonist is the annoying as hell reason I like Bots more than Thugs for ranged pets. I have a 50 Bots/Traps and Necro/Dark that I love and can do pretty amazing things with, if I do say so myself. My Thugs/Poison is still in the 40's in part because the Arsonist, which is a big chunk of the sets AoE, is a piece of crap and nearly impossible to keep alive. Arsonist aside I think my Mercs/Storm that is still in the 30's is easily comparable in damage to my Thugs at that level.
Everyone has opinions, though. -
Maybe someone should have a talk with whoever it is that maintains the server status page seeing as how for the second day in a row I have three different computers running different OSs and browsers telling me the majority of the time that the servers are up when they are clearly not.
-
In roughly 5 years and the 5 accounts between my wife and I, I've received maybe 3 total. One was from my nephew to whom I gave my original account and the others I think were from my wife teasing me.
-
The general understanding by many at the time, and forgive me for not saving multiple ancient forum posts and threads to substantiate my statement, was that the only reason we got /Poison is because the powers that be did not want MMs to have /Rad. If someone has something by a red name to say otherwise I would love to see it.
-
<QR>
I doubt we'll ever see /Rad or why did they bother making /Poison to begin with? I used to want /Kin, but now I don't care about it. Too many teams just treat /Kins as their personal SB and FS [censored] and I'm honestly not overly impressed with how people rely on the set or how the pets would interact with it.
The MM is my favorite AT, though, so I'd really like something new added to it. I'd love some /Cold, /Sonic, or /Thermal. -
My Necro/Dark is probably more useful on teams and definitely a powerhouse, but my Bots/Traps is more fun by far. Of all my MMs my Mercs/Storm I'm leveling up is the only thing that comes close.

If it helps I have mine slotted right now with:
Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam
Blood Mandate: Acc/Dam/End
Brilliant Leadership: Acc/End
Brilliant Leadership: Dam/End
Edict of the Master: Acc/Dam/End
Invention: Defense
It's not as sexy as spending millions of inf on HOs, but mine almost never run out of end and show good numbers for accuracy and damage. I've thought about pitching the EotM for another Def, but I haven't really needed it so far. -
I leveled up as a Crab and only made a Bane build as sort of a whim. My Bane has no purple sets nor the fighting pool and does exceptionally well if I do say so myself. The only time I have problems is against Romans and I can still do a good job of clearing the wall. I play it as a scralker and on a team except that my role is to run toggles, surveillance where needed, and take out hard targets when I can. My Fort/Widow is only 43, so I can't give a good comparison between that and a 50 SoA, but I don't think there's anything wrong with playing either from my experiences so far.
