We don't know why they are in certain zones, it may be story related, for one thing. o.0 Aeon and Crey making a project that we're all interested in for various reasons is not a co-in-sigh-dance. o.0
I think that, since this is their strong point and shot them out from a sea of "Bleh", they NEED to be exposing players to the ABILITY to make missions, not the farms.
I think that we really need to let the devs decide where to place things, I see so many posts saying they want an AE here or tey want an AE there, or they want it out of their back yard, or they want more rewards, or less rewards. I wonder why we don't just trust the devs actually have abusiness plan :P Alot of this knee-jerk reactions of "Doooom!" or "remove all rewards from ae for RP purposes!" is getting very very old :/
But, there is some valid points brought up here. Maybe, if you don't like the players who are level 50 noobs, you should..ignore them? o.0
Oh, and no, I think Atlas should have an AE for business reasons, maybe more business sense then RP/immersion sense
My two cents

There is so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin.
But I will leave you with this, the people that got rich playing the market for greed were smarter than you in I13, nothing in I14 has changed that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, three replies to me, that certainly struck near a nerve. :P
I conceed to that theory that the players were smarter then me, but I also point out, that I'm not in this game to make money. I'm not entirely sure if that makes them smarter then me if i have a different priority?
Thanks for the feedback however ^_^

1033 (NO TITLE)
1484 That Which Defines Humanity
[/ QUOTE ]
Continuing my run from the bottom up
1484 That Which Defines Humanity. Played, reviewed, and enjoyed this arc a while before. I suggest everyone else play this, but I'm not reviewing it again****
1033 - The Wool over Ones Eyes Ver 2.7
Rated **
Liked: Err. Um... Custom group and 5th column... the use of the contact device was good too. The way it actually changes who your contact mid arc feels great.
Disliked:
1: AWFUL mission goal descriptions. For example...
Mission 1: "... The client would like them dispatched in the quickest way possible.I'd recommend bringing anyone you canas there are going to be A LOT of them in there."
Accept
"... The building's wired to blow in 1 hour,...Oh, I didn't mention that did I?""
Mission goal " Send the Freakshow and their leaders packing!"
Oh - a huge, timed map with a defeat all. But its not a defeat all, its actually just their leader. The other missions seem to have the same problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes I have gotten a few notes internal and external about that, I'm currently looking into the issue. I'm open to suggesstions. It USED to be a defeat all, but I learned from Venture and the rest of our top four that defeat alls are never justified essentially. I am reworking it on the next build, I've got the patch notes nearly ready for that.

2: This arc is marked as Heroic but the first half is clearly written to someone speaking to a merc' villain. " You responded to my ad no doubt looking for work." ... " feel free to keep anything you find there, be they cash, salvaged equiptment," - Exactly why would any hero be doing this mission? This mission would work much better set as villainous.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have oddly, heard a few internal comments about this, and alot of external. Perhaps my circle of testers are best suited for what I was origiinally trying to do :P It started out as nueatral, but I figured the badgers would like something worthwhile in this too, so, I attempted to compromise, may not be working as intended. Next build is going to try and address this :/
[ QUOTE ]
3: The absolutely glaringly obvious twist. Its even in the mission title. Is my character supposed to be under some kind of mental control that makes him want to steal ski ball tickets and become really really thick?
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps the mission title was a mistake. I will run some polling internally. Gadgetdon gave me some advice, that I was being too obvious on the twist really, and I have a internal build on my home computer that addresses some of that. I was running on the old writer's tip "Your audience is an idiot, spell it out for them" I may be underestimating my audience in this case.
I thank you for the constructive feedback, and an entire rework of the arc is also a plan b scenario, I apologise it wasn't up to snuff ^^ Your advice has not fallen on deaf ears!

I'm working on it, I still ain't made it home long enough to do anything yet major yet, I keep getting interupted. I did manage to get a beta version of my newest arc up, otherwise, evening today I'll give it another go! O_O

I'm home and soon after food, I shall try yours! o.o!

Shouldn't this be in suggesstions? o.o;

For, say, 15 tickets.
It would fix the current market issues everyone's complaining about, which only exist in the first place because people are bad at math.
[/ QUOTE ]
This was brought on by the greedy people to begin with, and it's biting them in the rear, thanks to the devs. It's what they deserve, their uber loot is worthless and their powers taken from them from strangling the market.
I think it's fitting. Let them wiggle. UP yourprices on all common salvage >

Will do I might be able to sneak out today >.> <eyes boss>

Hmm. Interesting. I was not aware of that. Thank you ^_^ Do you think it required I delete my post? o.o;
-C.A. -
Hmm...Interesting point. I had not considered it from that angle.
Thank you!
-C.A. -
I hereby bring myself into this mess :P However, don't play any of mine yet, I've got a final pass on 1033 for restructure and 2095 requires a buff.
However, I just wanted to jump in and say to my favorite mushmouth late nite critter, I'll help :3

How frowned on would I be if I used a created arc, overwrote it line by line, republished, thus keeping my old number, and entirely redid what was in it?
*
Thoughts?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that as long as you're talking about completely re-doing the same Arc, thus presenting a better polished version of the same story, with essentially the same events the Arc originally portrayed, it should be quite alright.
If you're talking about completely replacing the Arc with a radically different Arc, with maps, critters, NPCs and dialogs that are totally unrelated to the original Arc, that would kinda stink in my opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
The second.
I threw that up there to get a decent number, it's easier for someone to remember four digits then what..7 now?
Thank you for your feedback, I'm interested on why it would stick?
-C.A. -

I wouldn't see why this would help break the Ratings system. If it has the same number and someone who played the 'old version' then plays the new one, they wouldn't be able to rate it. So he gains nothing in that respect as far as I see.
A side question, do you know what would happen to your 4-digit number if you unpublish it? Does that number get put into a pool to be used again or trashed? Hmm.
[/ QUOTE ]
From our perspective, it's trashed, it's kept more then likely in archieve as evidence for farm tracking and content tracking, if I understand evidence control

This stops star purchasing outside of the game. Not bad. However, like I have always said, these guys are like viruses, they'll mutate around it in no time and people will be upset again. Just be prepared to keep getting emails.
In the accounting aspect, this is a good way to keep a constant flow of money via repurchases of codes and things like that.
Lets say that on average we have 5 new accounts a day, meaing we have 35 a week, at [u]20 bucks[u] a crack thats an additional [u]$1,820.00[u] in additional capital o.o
In this economy and on an aged MMO, based on the number of people coming back and leaving (I don't have those numbers :P) I think this is an acceptable loss, and I'm sure alot of other people won't agree with that, but in the end it's the [u]bottom line[u] thats important.
Just my 2 cents!

As it stands, if the vast majority of people are playing AE, then you almost have to play AE also, to be able to buy enhancements..
[/ QUOTE ]
... really?
What are those funny "recipe" and "salvage" things that keep dropping on my characters, then? Not to mention the enhancements themselves?
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I like how folks seem to have forgotten that you can still buy run-of-the-mill, normal enhancements. No, they don't last forever like IOs, but they're always available.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can still buy a CD too, but it's not likely as MP3's are out :P
I think though, that things are fine the way it is, it was made this way to keep users busy and from targetting and cornering the market again like before. To be honest I think the salvage switch we just got where rare was junk and common is rare was intentionally a joke to players by the devs. Somewhat like them saying "You see how important your junk really is? At a whim I can change anything, so stop taking advantage of these poor peeps!"
But thats just me o.o Bottom line, bad idea to convert any of these things.
-C.A. -
Since most business plans would make you believe they have i15 and 16 set in stone with manpower and budget, I doubt we'll see any of these changes until i17 :/
BUT I like these :P -
DOn't worry, I get that alot from my guild. I'm apparently the fun killer when something comes out. I tend to point out the possible reasoning behind things in a negative light. :P
Glad we cleared that up though!
-C.A. -
I'm stealing that I love that :P
-
I speak from the exponential issues, only
You give your entire user base thats drooling over this the ability to purchase ten slots MORE and lets say they all max it out for arguments sakes. thats 1300K of content x userbase cross servers. Wow, that could hurt over time as technology ages. Then, there's more data to lose on a crash.
I also don't think everyone should be purchasing more arcs, and more liekly wait for a limit increase.
Nothings' more beneficial then letting your user base think thats all they get, and then taking the rug out from under them and making them rework things. >Perfect marketting and numbers planning. I wouldn't doubt this was their entire plan.
It's about money in the end, sadly.
The longer you keep your user base busy, rewritting arcs, content, and complaining and arguing with farmers in broadcast, the longer they will stay subscribed. A flawless plan and I applaude them. Then, after it gets bad, the devs come in and fix things, appease the masses and lets a few more things pass through QA, thus starting more arguing and gripping, keeping them busy again, the cycle repeats
-C.A. -
I'm more concerned about perserving my four digit arc numbers. the larger the number the harder the customer will have to rememebr it ^^
