Issue 15 Wishlist: More Power Sets!

I highly doubt either of those will happen. Animal Taming isn't likely because it would require construction of entirely new skeletons and suites of animations. Clones isn't going to happen without power customization because there's no current way for an MM to control/modify the appearance of their pets.

That aside, Posi mentioned in an interview I15 was supposed to be content-focused, so I'd more expect base improvements, new zones, and the like. If there are "new" sets, they'll probably be proliferations.

I 14 was all about AE, and that was it. Don't get me wrong, I like AE and I like the things that are coming. The 5th were always one of my favorite villain groups, but I see no reason why we can't get a couple different power sets for those that are seriously lacking. I pointed out the MM and the Dom based on pure numbers, not because I favor the red-side. I just want to see more variety, and I think that having more power sets is not me asking for additional ATs. These are much easier to do.
It'd be more likely at this point to ask for this in Issue 16, as Issue 15's list has already been announced and we can reasonably suspect given the title (Anniversary), that it's due out soon.

Bear in mind, Positron has gone live and said that, when they packaged and got ready to promote Issue 15, it went sort of like this:
"What's ready to go now? Jay? Costumes and faces? Great! Put 'em in. Castle? Proliferation not ready? Okay, Issue 16. BAB? The costume change emotes are done? Put 'em in. Pohsyb, Ghost Falcon? MA improvements are done? Put 'em in. War Witch, Hero 1? The 5th Column Task Forces ready to go? Good job, put 'em in!"
Since they really wanted to get an Issue 15 out for the "Fifth..." Anniversary, they took what was ready and called it an issue. I strongly suspect that Issue 15 will go into closed Beta on May 12th, Open Beta on May 27th, and Live on June 3rd.
That being said, they are working on expanding Powerset options and making new Powersets, just don't expect them in Issue 15. Issue 13 gave us Shield Defense and Pain Domination. and those were in development for quite a long time (granted, Shields took longer because of all the animation work).
Reasonable, thematic sets that I would expect to see eventually:
Blasters
Proliferated: Radiation Blast, Dark Blast, Radiation Manipulation, Dark Manipulation.
New: Spikes (Spines / Darts / Thorns / Whatever you want to call them, I believe between Thorny Assualt, the Blood Widow Primary, and Spines, there are enough Ranged attacks to cobble together a set, but as the looks of the powers are not truly compatible, the amount of animations and powers work required would probably just shy of making a new set), Pistols, Energy Rifle, Earth Blast, Radiant (or Light) Blast, Energy Pistols, Chemical Manipulation, Earth Manipulation, Radiance
Controllers
Proliferated: Dark Miamsa, Poison (maybe renamed and themed to Alchemy or Chemistry in the same way Empathy was renamed and themed into Pain domination), Cold Domination, Traps

Then how would that be "clones"? Just have all of the enemies look exactly the same? Doesn't really have much of the "clones" favor people would look for, especially since "clones" as you're implying could simply be roleplayed quite easily without needing a new powerset. The problem I see with the masterminds is that it's kind of hard to develop the sets without getting hyper-specific, and, to complicate matters, the archetypal super-villain minions are mostly covered already. Any extras they add are going to start being more and more origin specific.

PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Because it's unique means that it's less "bang" for each time investment "buck". Unique powersets are like that. It's also the reason why some ATs get thematically and visually strange power sets (Dual Blades on Tankers and Brutes?).
Small request to have Street Fighting be called Fist Fighting.
Reason: Whenever I hear Street Fighting, I automatically think of Ryu and Ken tossing out hadoken and shoryuken.

Then how about it costs 2-3 times more developer time to create and test a new set (which is what Mastermind primaries and to a lesser extent Blaster and Dominator secondaries would be - new sets with a handful of powers copied over for Masterminds, and sets made up entirely out of other powers [that have to be tested to make sure that they do, indeed, work correctly and well in the chosen combination]) then it does to just copy and adjust one to the AT in question?
Example: Assault Rifle going to Defenders? No work required at all, direct port. Just adjust powers a little as needed. Same with Trick Arrow for Corrupters, or Broadsword for Brutes (more tweaking there, I'd imagine).
Mental Manipulation for Blasters? Major project in comparison to balance it properly. Even Psionic Blast got adjusted heavily for Blasters. Electric Assault? Another major project to create it, compared to the above examples. New Mastermind set? Three powers from other sets, and 2 that are 'standard'.. plus 4 new powers (3 pets that need to have their OWN powers tested and configured) that need to be created from scratch.
EDIT: Added Masterminds.
Since most business plans would make you believe they have i15 and 16 set in stone with manpower and budget, I doubt we'll see any of these changes until i17 :/

I would also advocate Blade Assault, that I made a while back. A Mace Assault (using the Arachnos melee/ranged weapon) might also be nice, along with Ninja Assault (Martial Arts mixed with either Archery or shurikens) and Radiation Assault (or call it Atomic Assault).

Yes, that's my wish. Sure all that other stuff you guys announced seem cool, esp the faces costume addition, but can we please get more power options?
Let's recap the power choices:
- Blasters: 8 Primaries ; 6 Secondaries
- Controller: 7 Primaries ; 8 Secondaries
- Defender: 9 Primaries ; 8 Secondaries
- Scrapper: 8 Primaries ; 7 Secondaries
- Tanker: 7 Primaries ; 9 Secondaries
- Brute: 9 Primaries ; 9 Secondaries
- Corruptor: 8 Primaries ; 9 Secondaries
- Stalker: 8 Primaries ; 7 Secondaries
- Dominator: 6 Primaries ; 6 Secondaries
- Mastermind: 5 Primaries ; 7 Secondaries
Note, the Mastermind has only FIVE primary power choices, with the dominator coming close behind with six. Dominators are also tied with blasters for the least amount of secondaries. These two, if any other AT, need some more variety.
Sure, CoX has more variety than any other game out there. It's what makes this game so unique and diverse. Why not add to that diversity?
