    Ha! Exactly.

Umbra Beast really is too loud, too often. Giving people non-gameplay reasons not to team with each other seems counterproductive. And giving an awesome power a terrible noisy side-effect, to the point where people don't want to play the set, seems counterproductive too. Occasional noises are fine for pets, but the constant barking and howling is definitely too much -- about as bad as Demon Summoning howls. Maybe there are some people who like these sounds, and their volume/frequency, but I have yet to meet any of them.

It would be great if a "Turn off pet sounds" option was added to Null the Gull for those of us who want that. Playing the game with no sound at all is no fun (for me, anyway), but some of the pet sounds are just too over the top.

Hope the devs find some way to fix this.
  2. brrrrrriiiiIIIIIIING!

    NEW BADGE!

    BUGGED

You have attempted to complete a mission that cannot be completed.

    Congratulations!
  3. The howling is a bit much. It'd be nice if "turn off pet sounds" was added as an option via Null the Gull.

Just so I'm clear, since I haven't seen all of the posts on this particular issue, the Enhancement Converters which have been dropping for the past week (got at least 3 on one toon so far) shouldn't/can't be applied to ATIOs until that patch? I've been waiting until I had enough to convert an entire set, so this isn't a big deal for me (although I can see it being a problem for other people).

So we did the mission again for him. At the end he got the regular drop table, and so did I (got another common). That surprised me, as I expected to be limited by the 20-hour limitation.

What is the correct behavior here? Can you get a salvage roll every time you're on a team that completes the last mission of an arc run from a contact in DA? Or was my getting two pieces of iSalvage doing the last mission back-to-back a glitch?

In particular, can a team of 8 players do the first three missions of the DA arcs together, then do each of their final missions one after the other to get 8 components in a day? And is that the intended behavior?
I don't know if that's intended, but a similar thing happened for us in a duo. There was no prompt to 'complete the same mission', and both members of the duo got the option of components on the first run.

Sometimes, with no apparent effect; I think DE emanators are still "eminators", for example. Although there may be a trend to avoid the whole spelling issue by just having characters spit out unresolved text tokens instead of real localized language. (Diabolique's last line in the First Ward arc comes to mind, having just run into that this weekend. Climactic cut scene, dramatic resolution, you'd think QA could've given her something better to say than P15532188, or whatever it is.)

Two TF contacts, even: Moonfire and Ernesto Hess. And Hess has the more interesting final room.
  11. See, I like this better than the previous splashscreen -- it's pretty clearly a tribute to the fallen hero. (Aaaand now I've got "Tribute" by Tenacious D in my head, d'oh.) But my first thought on seeing it was that Statesman was letting fly with some epic, er, wind, which I have to say would be an impressive superpower. Call it the Nova Blat.

Anyway, the visual absence of, um, sausage on the plate makes me wonder if there's a default system setting similar to the in-game profanity filter -- instead of AdBlocker it's a c@$%blocker?

    Fine, I'll leave now.
  12. Wow, this is a long thread. >_>

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of "Thank you, Dink!" Your efforts are most definitely appreciated.
  13. Was really hoping this would be a 24 hour bug when I got faucet nose yesterday, but it's not. Sorry we can't make it to the M&G -- better if we don't show up and share the "wealth" anyway.

    Have fun, guys.

Rest of the write up looks solid, though.
Actually, from the looks of the secondary set, Dark/Dark Controllers should be able to get Fluffy as well:

    I'm likin' it.
  15. Whoa! Those are sweet badges, Torroes! I wasn't sure if you were asking people to vote on a design, from which you would pick one, but if everyone can get the design of their choice, our choices are:

    Design #2, Statesman = Cap'n Barcode
    Design #1 = Heliphyneau

We plan to be there around 3:00pm. As I understand the plan, you guys are gonna start off at Starbucks around 2:30-3:00 and then mosey to the bar at D&B, right? Either way, we'll track ya down.

    Looking forward to this!
  16. We should be able to attend this! Never been to any M&Gs, outside of some SG-only ones, so it would be cool to meet you guys.

Put us on the list -- if anything goes awry plans-wise, we'll let you know.

That would be awesome! Plus maybe add a more raptor-ish head than the current dino-esque monster head and more than one tail option (ankylosaurus?). And I think you meant stegosaurus plates, if you were talking about a back detail.

Bladed bowler hat for AoE damage, exploding top hat for more extreme damage, propeller beanies acting like shurikins or caltrops, large sombrero with an AoE confuse (induces enemy mobs to stop attacking and dance around it), pointed party hats thrown dart-like for single target damage . . . ooh, and beer hats that induce stun!

  20. We had it happen just now. Entering the mission, we needed to destroy 30 grounded and 0 airborne chasers. Destroyed all the grounded, but never found any airborne, had to abandon it. Odd that having 0 to defeat would not let it complete, but I guess the code might need to have at least one defeat before it triggers a check.
  21. I didn't see a mention of AOE heals in here... they probably shouldn't be used in the final battle, as confused healers could be healing the enemy. Not sure if single target heals also buff the beast. In any case, I ticked off a league today by getting empath lock, so it can't hurt to keep that in mind.
  22. Twinshot's adaptation of "The Prisoner" drew a small but devoted following.

Have they fixed the broken SG emblem items yet? It's disheartening at best to go into a base with hundreds of copies of your SG symbol (infinity) built into different surfaces and items, only to see it replaced with a biohazard symbol and to have absolutely no recourse except to rebuild the base without any use of SG emblems. A bug that probably happened because some dev screwed up a pointer into a list and can't be bothered to go in and fix it.

    Clearly a bug.
Not if the waiting player checked the box to join events already in progress. That actually sounds like it's working as intended.

It always felt to me like the Miami Vice of TNG-era Trek.

Voyager wasn't all happy and shiny, but I often felt like it was smothering me in political correctness, and not just because of the diversity of the cast. Janeway drove the series with a moral uprightness worthy of an old-school D&D Paladin, and while some of her crew chafed under that, the Paladin-esque approach usually won in the end (as befits it being the will of the captain). Somehow, that cast a pall on the show for me that made me dislike it more than its other flaws.

I liked DS9 a lot, and I also liked Babylon 5. Voyager, on the other hand, was the ST show that taught me that I didn't actually have to watch every ST show. I hear they added a total fanservice Borg chick a season or two after I gave up on it, which I guess gave it another couple years of life (I wrote it off as dead after that sell-out).
