I have a friend who uses the valk boots at every opportunity, and I think they look hilariously bad. Pointed toes, giant rounded kneecaps. Ew. The round bulbs on hands, knees, and shoulders look like giant armored tumors.
To each their own of course. But it just irks me that If I want the Valk costume, I have to pay $10 for *just* that. At least the other costume packs come with other stuff, the Mac pack is basically the costume, and I don't remember what else... A jetpack or something?

Hell, I'd almost prefer a TRUE micro-transition store, so I could buy *just* the stuff I want for cheaper, rather than pay more for stuff I don't want.
  2. My definition is pretty liberal.

A persistent world filled with many players that can interact with each other.

The persistent world part means that most PvP games like Halo, TF2, etc, don't qualify, while technically, some mods and servers from games like Neverwinter Nights, would.

Have you seen the Official Costume Request thread?

Or checked out the Going Rogue stuff?

Or was it a simple "I want stuff"?
Well, theres always the stuff I have been harping about for years....

    Flannel Shirts
    Hard Hats
    Overalls
Better *Casual* wear(Sorry, the old sweater is a bit bland)

And of course, there is all the cool stuff that we get to shovel out $10 for each, like the stupidly cool looking Valkyrie stuff from the Mac pack.
  4. Shield/Elec or Shield/SS

If you don't want to spend alot of money, than Fire/SS or Elec/SS
  5. Zapp and Summon Adept are pretty much useless. You can drop those to fit in Hasten+SS, or something else.(I would go with Hasten though)
  6. I use Fireball, Blaze, Bonesmash, and fill it with Flares when I need to.

Course, I have like 80+ recharge from sets, so mine isn't exactly normal.
  7. Chances are, if your team is complaining, its because you are doing something wrong. Learn to use Hover, walls, etc to prevent the mobs from going everywhere.

Because fact of the matter is, when an energy blaster, or any knockback user scatters mobs, and makes everyone elses AoE's useless, people get pissed.

Anyways, honestly, I didn't even notice that the Ulterior or Vines costumes even existed. Ulterior looks just like Justice, which WAS added over a year ago(Earth time).

In fact, why don't I REMIND you all your responses to Ulterior and Vines and new Faces when they launched.

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=182113 Disappointment.

Fact of the matter is, ever since new hairstyles were given out(Again, an *earth* year ago), we haven't gotten anything even remotely major. The only thing we get is minor little costumes, and everything cool we have to shovel out another $10 for.

Hell, in order to get, IMHO, the *best* looking costume, you have to buy the mac pac, and IT ONLY COMES WITH 1 COSTUME.

    Exoproto
    Stealth
    Arctic
    Vandal
    Vines
    Ulterior
    Enforcer
    Jester

    Tons of new hairstyles
    Tons of new faces
    Tons of new aura combinations
    Flies Aura

I know I'm forgetting something, so I apologize.

Even those are a LOT of free costumes.

Those were all created well over a year ago.

Edit: Some new faces as well i might add Also new hair styles were launched AFTER the first booster iirc

Edit 2: That one my main character uses atm but for the love of me i cant name
Regardless, those costumes were all over a year ago.
  13. I've been noticing a trend here.

We haven't received a single new costume outside of a booster pack in what... A year? Two years?

I suppose you could count the Halos and the Pumpkinhead, but thats about it. Every other costume has been put out in Booster packs, ever since they were first launched.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with booster packs, but it leaves a pretty bitter taste in the mouth when EVERY single costume is put through them.
  14. Fire. Its an amazing set, great damage all around.
  15. I fully support the Finger Gun!

    POW! HAHA!

Those numbers leave out one incredibly important bit of information.

    Spin's radius is 8 Feet.

    Footstomps radius is 15 feet.

So Spin is doing SIGNIFICANTLY less damage than footstomp, because in practical play, its rarely going to get 10 mobs in melee range, even during farming, while with SS, most of the time you get the entire mob in the radius.
  17. Elec/Shield is currently the *Premier* Farming Scrap combo. But its stupidly expensive to build.

Elec/Fire does almost as well as Elec/Sheild, but doesn't cost a fortune.

    Same with Spines/Fire.

The one place +def does not help much is with the Sunless Mire nictus in play in the last mission, because it is either auto-hit or extremely high base toHit. I don't think particularly special support tactics are needed to deal with it, however. Something like Regen Aura, -Dam effects, or +DR effects can all usually carry teams I am on past that particular nictus effect, since it's the first one Romulus "consumes" to res. That means you can even get past it with orange inspirations, assuming your team isn't having problems killing Romulus to begin with.
The Healing Nictus are not auto-hit. An old tactic way back in the day, back when the ITF was new shiny, and people thought it hard, was to buff Defense up, and than the Healing Nictus would not be able to heal as much.

If you want to see this in action, just take a REALLY cruddy team to fight Rommy, and bring a toon that has Vengeance, or even better, PB Veng. Rommy will heal significantly less when Veng is active.

And the fact of the matter is, for the ITF, it really doesn't matter. There is no super special build for the ITF that is better than everything else. The ITF is *easy*.

There are a few things that help, like -Resistance, but thats about it.

Rads, Colds, Sonics, Darks, all are very popular for the ITF. Pretty much any Debuff set.

like in the topic mentioned it should be special for ITF and there the best supporter which is possible

For an ITF, it simply doesn't matter.

Any debuffing set with -Regen and -Res will do equally well.

  22. Personally, I like SS over Claws as well.

Claws is cool, don't get me wrong, but SS has the *oomphf* that I like seeing in a Brute. Its the classic beat em up guy.

    To the OP:

SS/WP or SS/Elec are what you are looking for. /WP is a bit easier in the lower levels, and is tougher, but /Elec has access to a Damage Aura, Better end management tools, and comes with +20% recharge.

    Both are good.

Like all Stalkers, they are decent boss killers.

But Spines shouldn't even bother trying to kill bosses. They have insane AoE.

Just be aware that killing Bosses is not very helpful to teams. Bring AoE son.
