The one thing we have to remember is this is a game, something enjoyable to do to pass the time. Being consistantly dead is not fun, nor is your one-trick-pony being out-tricked by almost everything else. Far too many times I've been outdamaged by Dominators, Defenders and even Controllers when playing a Blaster because of the extra tricks they have for dealing damage (Controllable criticals/pets), the self support (Mezzing entire groups for carefree damage) or actually having higher base damage (Blaster Power Blast at level 50 - 102.60; Dominator Power Blast at level 50 - 103.55, from ingame real numbers)
Why am I being outdamaged by a control Archetype capable of completely locking down entire groups, including bosses, before they take damage?
Time and time again I have a character concept who could be a Blaster, I LOVE Blasters, but the number cruncher in me knows it'd be better as a Dominator, or Corruptor, because they can get similar or more damage while being able to get away with far more than a Blaster can with minimal effort and be better in a team because they offer MORE than damage, but still put the damage on the table.
At the very least
* Halve the recharge of crashing Nukes
* Halve the animation time of crashing Nukes
* Increase the base damage of Blaster attacks by at least 10%
* Increase the damage buff of Defiance by at least an extra 3% per stack
* Defiance damage buffs last for 1 minute but cap at 20 stacks
Ideally I would like
* Increase the base damage of Blaster attacks by at least 25%
* Make that bonus damage untyped
* Defiance adds 0.5 points of mez protection per stack, last for 1 minute and stack up to 20 times
* Current crashing nukes have their recharge, animation time AND endurance/recovery crash halved
* Aim and Build Up's durations increased to 15 seconds for Blasters only
* Devices, Ice Manip, Psi Blast and Elec Blast buffed
If I was being greedy..
* Defiance adds 15% regeneration, 10% recovery and 1 point of mez protection per stack, Defiance buffs last for 1 minute and stack up to 20 times
* Defiance changed so that rather than being able to use basic attacks while mezzed, the Blaster now also gains damage the lower their Health and/or Endurance get
* Crashing nukes have their recharge and animation time halved, the crash removed and damage increased by 25-50%
* All Blaster attacks have some kind of soft mez added to them (Knockdown, stun, fear etc)
* Base Blaster health increased to be on par with Scrappers, Blaster health cap increased on par with the new Stalker cap -
Blaster: Blaster's Defiance: Damage/Chance for Mez Protection: 3/min(4/min) for mag 1/2 protection to Hold, Immob, Stun, Sleep, Fear and Knockback for 1 minute, stacks up to 3 times
Controller: Controller's Puppets: Mez Duration/Increase damage of Containment crits by 20/40%.
Defender: Shield of the Defender: Recharge/Chance for PBAoE +Resistance(All). 3/min(4/min) for +50/100% Resistance to all damage for 3 seconds
Scrapper: Scrapper's Ferocity: Accuracy/Increases damage of Critical Hits by 20/40%.
Tanker: Tanker's Assault: Recharge/Chance for AoE knockdown. 4/min(5/min) chance for a 15ft radius around your target to be knocked down, 5/10 targets max
Kheldian: Kheldian's Wisdon: Endurance/+Team Inherant. The Kheldian gains a buff equal to having one/two of each individual buff from their inherant power.
Brute: Strength of the Brute: Endurance/Chance for Smashing damage/Knockup. 4/min(5/min) for minor/moderate smashing damage and a short knockup against the target/s.
Corruptor: Corruptor's Spite: Damage/Increased chance for Scourge (20/40%)
Dominator: Dominator's Dominance: Recharge/Chance for Hold and -tohit. 3/min(4/min) for a 6(8) second mag 2 hold and 3.5(6)% -tohit debuff
Mastermind: The Mastermind's Plot: Recharge/Chance for Placate and Fear. 4/min(5/min) to placate and fear your target/s for 10 seconds
Stalker: Stalker's Execution: Damage/Increased Team Buff. Adds an additional .25/.5% chance to crit outside of hide for each team member, a team of 8 would give the Stalker an additional 22.75/24.5% chance to crit rather than 21%
Arachnos: Arachnos Oppression: Chance for Immobilize and self +Recharge. 4/min(5/min) for a mag 2 immobilize for 6/8 seconds and to increase your recharge by 20/40% for 12 seconds
These are what I'd like to see. -
RIP Placate, we knew ye well.
Thought I was just getting lucky with my Stalker when I tested it briefly yesterday. If this really is WAI, well, hells yeah come on I22 I want my super attack chain. -
Quote:Aw, not even one itty bitty 3% defense PvP IO? Fine.. Same build I posted earlier, slightly tweaked with 3% less defense but a smidge more health..No PVP IO's, anything else is fair game. I do not partake in the RP, so no restrictions there.
I like to have goals to work towards.

Here you go Mr Z, perma-Hasten, 41% defense to Ranged, attack chain of Golden Dragonfly - Soaring Dragon - Divine Avalanche repeat (theoretically). 8.5 sec Fire Ball, 4 sec Lotus Drops, 16.45s Reconstruction, 95 sec Dull Pain, 82 sec Moment of Glory, 194 sec Instant Healing. Super Speed and Super Jump as travel, though admittedly a bit late at 47/49, I'm sure you have the temp travels and teleports when exemping

A link for great prosperity.
I barely remember that weekend now, it was that good, great fun just meeting everyone face to face, let alone all the games and free pizza being thrown around. The unofficial meets in Birmingham have been going on for a few years now though and they're plenty fine enough for meeting friends new and old, make some new memories and best weekends ever -
Yes, and not just for the Jason Vorhees/Casey Jones rip offs, they can open a myriad of concepts up from home-made superheroes to using it with parts from, let's say, the Science Pack for a mad science mask, or perhaps the Oni mask (if it would be possible) to try and sell it off as an oriental mask.
I would pay just for that costume piece, so long as it's under Detail 1 for all head types with a face. -
..Marry me..
*cough* While I can understand a certain backlash of changing (if only in presentation) what is still a classic, I think the change is understandable once explained by George. -
I believe the new Valentines content has a chance, if you fail a magic ritual, to pretty much explode in your face and debuff you. Think Vahzilok Wasting Disease for 20 hours.
It does seem a bit off, I must admit, and if it can stack from multiple attempts then.. Ouch. -
If such sets were added, it'd need to be done in as little ways as possible to not throw too much information at the player while still having as many options as possible. Below are my thoughts of what powers would be available and in what way. Damage and effects would have to be 20-30% lower than their powerset variation, or select powers be unavailable if you've already got it available in your set/epic (though I've tried not to make ones which'd clash):
Power One - Level 14
Power Two - Level 14

Power Four - Level 22
Power Five - Level 30
Munitions:
Single Shot - Single Pistol

Touch of Fear - Dark Melee, no tohit debuff, half fear duration, 20+s recharge (with slotting, it's a ST perma-fear)
Shadow Maul - Dark Melee, double recharge (16s)
Siphon Life - Dark Melee, 20s+ recharge, increases your regeneration rather than a flat heal
Weather:
Charged Bolts - Elec. Blast

I suspect that's why we haven't got it yet, balance issues and all. So far (I believe) the only sets which have been added via proliferations are due to how little comparitive work it was to alter or because it runs along to an issue's theme (Dark to Controllers, for example).
I would love a Stone Scrapper, Super Strength too, but right now it's just a matter of time. -
Don't get us wrong, we want it, it's just with the current engine it's as good as impossible to do. Can't find a link/source, but way back when this was shot down by a lead Dev as being technically impossible and a lot of work for something relatively small gameplay-wise.
-
Turn it into a 90 second click PBAoE fly buff with 80 second unenhanceable recharge so it's perma without having you fall out the sky because of brief lag. Anyone that doesn't want it can decline or remove it with right click, add an auto decline to options and/or Null.
-
A with B shoulders and C knees. I like the bendy-straw like joints.
-
While I have been wanting many parts of the Roman armour on new characters, I am disappointed that the pack does not include the weapons also. I would hope this may be due to them releasing a future pack with all unlockable weapons, but this would've been a good oppertunity for such.
-
They haven't added /MA to Blasters, so no.
-
Devices:
Cloaking Device: 50% damage buff while you're cloaked
Time Bomb:Instead of placing on the ground, you attach it to an enemy. The animation would be 1-2 seconds, no interrupt and doesn't break your Cloaking Device. Same count-down before exploding around the target, higher endurance cost.
Psychic Blast (Blasters):
Every Power: Decreases your enemy's resistance to Psi by 3-6% for 8 seconds
Scramble Thoughts: Increase the damage to the same as Psionic Lance, make it DoT over 10 seconds
Ice Manipulation:
Shiver: Add minor DoT, let it take Targetted AoE IO sets
Frozen Aura: Add damage like the Ice Melee version, let it take PBAoE damage IO sets
Empathy:
Clear Mind: Add 3 points of Knockback protection, enough for the average knock but not enough for the larger attacks
Recovery/Regeneration Aura: Lower the endurance cost to 18. You generally use both in sequence but other PBAoE buffs use 15-20 endurance
Trick Arrow:
Entangling Arrow: Add -Jump
Flash Arrow/Disruption Arrow: Add a 10 second Mag 1 Stun to all enemies, Disruption arrow looks like sound waves, so together they're a flashbang?
Poison Gas Arrow: On hit a 2 second unresistable choking hold is applied to all enemies
Battle Axe:
Cleave/Pendulum/Whirling Axe: Add minor Lethal DoT like the Katana/Broadsword PBAoEs
Electrical Melee:
Chain Induction: Can chain to the same enemy/enemies up to 2 times, increasing damage against smaller groups
Energy Melee:
Barrage: Chance for stun per visual punch
Whirling Hands: Increase stun chance to 75%
Energy Transfer: New animation, keeps current animation time. You immediately hit your enemy, dealing asap as soon as you activate the damage, but your character immediately recoils from the self damage and has to shrug it off before the animation ends. Allows for more secure kills and less whumping dead bodies.
Martial Arts:
Crane Kick: Slotting Knockback now lowers it
Fiery Aura:
Burn: Add a 3 second, unenhanceable Taunt to the Scrapper version
Rise of the Phoenix: First tick of the PBAoE damage is knockdown, the rest are knockback
Regeneration:
Resilience: Increases resistance to -Regen debuffs by 30%
Revive: For 10 seconds, you have Instant Healing level regeneration. Can also now be slotted with Healing IO sets
Stone Armour:
Rooted: Renamed Earth Connected. Now a click with a 20 second recharge, buffs Regeneration by 50%, Recovery by 15%, Recharge 10%, grants protection and resistance to KB, Hold, Immob, Stun and Sleep. 20 second duration, no Endurance cost, can be enhanced by Regeneration, Recovery, Recharge. Allows for easier play outside of Granite Armour at the expense of clicky and easier use of Granite when needed
Corruptor Inherant: Add critical chances to Heals, Buffs and Debuffs (2x healing, 1.5x buffs/debuffs) against enemies and allies low on health
VEAT Inherant: Increased base Recovery for each team member who isn't an EAT, increased base Regeneration for each team member who is an EAT. -
..I think they should just give everyone up to 10 pages and be done with it. If anyone buys that many, more money to them, anyone that doesn't want them doesn't buy them.
I'm quite happy on my server and would like more pages of characters, currently got all 48 and quickly running out of uhms and aahs to delete for new ideas. -
I think the main issue of an alternate Recluse is that, if he isn't an Incarnate, then he would've died of old age anyhow. If he is an Incarnate, he either gained the power of Zeus and would be that reality's Statesman, or still gained the power of Tartarus and under which case he would have the spider legs and I doubt a half-man half-spider Demi-God could get away with being a Hero, he'd just keep creeping people out.
I'd like to see a world where Stefan managed to kill Marcus at The Well and proceeded to take over the world with his henchmen being that Reality's versions of our Hero/Villain groups' leaders. Dreck with the Freakshow, Requiem leading the Arbiters, Ms Liberty with Crossbow, War Witch with what's left of the Midnighters, Foreshadow leading a strike team of Fusionette, Mako, BaB, Positron, Synapse, Blue Steel, Kalinda and Black Scorpion
Heroes team up with the reality's freedom fighters lead by Count Crey, The Prussian Prince (Oh noes Nemesis!) and Frostfire, helping the reality because the Recluse we all know and loathe is trying to form an alliance with Arachnos Earth. With Crey and PPrince's technological army and Frostfire's misfits for backup, all they need is help from someone with experience.
Villains manage to weasel their way into helping Arachnos with this Reality by force, going there for a free world where might makes right so you can go nuts and do what you want without trying to worry about the Heroes of Paragon City.. Until they start to show up to stop you. Guess it's time to show them how it feels to be Most Wanted?
3 or 4 storyarcs, repeatable contact, level 40-50 trial and maybe letting you unlock the Alpha slot automatically at arc completion, like the Flames of Prometheus giving an Incarnate reward at 50.
Such a world would be technology driven with most magic which isn't useful or can't be controlled forcibly removed. The Circle of Thorns, and Oranbega, would be destroyed and in ruins. The Mu would be a weapon under the guidance of War Witch and her Midnighters. The Carnival of Shadows would be found and destroyed by Recluse's seers, likely losing Ghost Widow (or the woman who would be) in the process.
Groups like Malta, Family, 5th Column/Council, Sky Raiders and even Warriors would be assimilated into the Arbiters who would rule over individual sections of city. Ms Liberty (under a different name, of course..) would lead Crossbow, the effective combination of the current Arachnos/Longbow/PPD/RIP, and would act as police for the Arbiters. Foreshadow's strike team being called in to handle the larger threats.
High above or deep below the cities (I'm picturing most areas being like Grandville), anyone who wants to find help would seek out Frostfire. Anyone who's willing to fight would be divided by those with or without powers. Those with powers, whether mutant, magic or science go to Frostfire for training, those with just the will to fight go to Crey and PPrince to be armed with powerful weapons, power suits and automoton bodyguards.
The freedom fighters would exist to protect those who can't survive in the kill or be killed world, or to arm those who want to do more than hide, with the eventual goal to put a sane person in control or start their own country away from it all. With help from various scientists they've collected they have sent a message to Primal Earth (and perhaps other realities to cause a headache?) for help. -
England. Somewhere cosy in the middle.
