I don't mind KSers unless they become braggart KSers. For sure they may have done the last few percentage points of damage, but the ones that act like they made the kill happen irk me.

The funny thing is he could fight back quite well, I remember M3zm3r1ze saying VORI hunted him down once and they had a hard time of it
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes Twixt knew how to PvP quite well on his LOLMelee. Yeah and no Phase on the toons I had seen prior to I13. He had superior skill, tactics, knowledge and timing.
Recently in the Freedom section of the boards someone started a thread to grief Twixt (you know who you are) and M3z popped in and said something along the lines of "I'm a better PvPer then anyone posting in this thread and Twixt was the best thing that happened to PvP" or "Twixt is a Beast". Sorry the thread was deleted and only M3z or those who remember can confirm it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would say he knew how to use his powers for disruption for sure. The reason it was stated he was the best thing to happen to pvp is because it cause people to go into the zone and therefore more targets.
I found this little bit in the old thread about him that he has saved. It is a reply from Twixt about a self proclaimed RV farmer. Interesting are his words.
[ QUOTE ]
Here's the question.
Should a player be allowed, whether by the design of the game, developer/moderator fiat, or other players, to farm unimpeded within Recluse's Victory?
My position is this: Farming unimpeded within RV is wrong. NOT simply because it is a carebear thing to do. but because of two things: 1) It is against the design and spirit of the game. 2) It is an activity that precludes other players from doing the same thing.
The substance of number one, I think, is obvious. Number two means that if unimpeded farming were sanctionable, then only six players (three vill hvys, three hero hvys) could pursue it at any one time. Thus, for the sake of those six, the entire zone would be unavailable either for the pillbox game or, significantly, for farming by others. I consider this extremely selfish and, since it is possible under current conditions in RV, an example of extremely poor MMO design.
That's my position. What's yours?
***
Point of clarification: All players in RV, particularly those who oppose Twixt in some way, seem to think that everything Twixt says is about them. Hoho. The phrase I use to describe farmers is consistently "lowlife slimeball farmers," because, I figure, if the shoe fits...
Faraq is indeed, by far, now that the no-caps non-English speaking vill farmers have been driven away (I can't imagine by whom), the most consistent -- and I mean multiple hours every single day -- non-participant-in-anything-but-farming farmer in RV. To the extent that faraq meets the qualifications of a lowlife slimeball farmer, I believe this label is properly descriptive. It is not, however, directed at any one player in particular.
In order to explore the ramifications of verbal harassment, however (in which I am also interested), I will post elsewhere.

LOL!
That's just wonderful.
Also, the lag is seriously driving me to the point of wanting to cancel. Because my game is flat out unplayable. 3-5 second delay on everything I do, and half the time it doesn't even activate. And my internets are perfectly fine other than this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have experienced this off and on since I10. Every other thing I do on my connection, etc is fine. Every 30 sec or so it shows packets lost on the netgraph and when it is really bad it is every 5-10 secs. I have been having the activation rings still around powers I used many seconds ago and looking unactivated. Also rubberbanding will happen occasionally just walking in a straight line. I dunno what it is, but it along with changes has severely lessened my playing of this game. -

What about the people who choose to not pad missions but go after naturally large spawns that are provided to them throughout the game. You know... Perez Park, Boomtown, the RWZ, the Shadow Shard, the walls in Cimeroa, Terra Volta, Eden, Dark Astoria etc etc... just about any/every hazard zone has them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nooooo, stay outta my RWZ and Shadow Shard. -

How do you smuggle players of their influence? I find that to be impossible.

MUGGING
I think Slax should snuggle new players instead anyways. -
I am looking for something that will show what level ranges for the IO recipe sets are, for example Blue Shoelace 10-30. I think I saw one before or it was part of Paragon Wiki but I really can't find it now. Thanks for any help.

I think they need to issue a pamphlet upon entering the pvp zones. It will have all the stuff you need to know. Or just put all that money on Castle's food per diem.

I've played some basketball, so that clearly makes me good at playing the violin.
On a less sarcastic note, you came in here complaining about stuff that is meaningless to everybody because we've learned to deal with it by....drumroll....becoming good at the game. Your complaints are total non-issues for anybody that's even average at the game. You were told that, but proceeded to complain more, also adding insults towards the people who responded.
Guess what. If you can't deal with something that everybody else CAN deal with, it's your problem. And acting like an internet tough guy won't fix that. Learning to play the game better will.

Second, because I am much more likely to be a long-term loyal subscriber and bring in others who will be loyal subscribers than people who play the game to "win" in a few weeks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Awesome, putting yourself in front of others. Isn't this like saying you are better than them?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, he's saying some players are not wanted even though their $15 spends like anyone else's. The RMT farmers pay $15 too (at least for SOME of the accounts they use) but they are not welcome here. I would imagine you'd find pretty broad agreement on that from both devs and players.
[/ QUOTE ]
He isn't talking about RMT's. He clearly mentions the "win in a few weeks" crowd. An exaggeration on his part for sure, but he is still saying his money is better than other people's money. -

Oh yeah, I barely played with AE. I tried a couple arcs that said they were easy to solo and turned out to have AVs every other step or were just messes. My missions suck greatly, I will admit. I just made them messing around, not trying to be pro. Hope I still have that character, I haven't logged in for awhile.

I read that a lot of them are poorly written drivel. And that most are from the suck ups that any one that makes it to closed betas know who they are.

QFT.
That's the reason I stay out of the PvP zones, unless I'm there for a badge. Not to say I couldn't handle myself--I just prefer to avoid people with sorry-[censored], immature, child-like, just-hit-puberty type of behavior. Just generally not my cup of tea...
On a related note, the OP reminded me of a recent story where I took my MA/SR scrapper into RV for some badge grinding... I was busy minding my own business pounding away at one of those turret-thingies, and WHAM! A stalker hits me from behind... I sighed, hit a small green insp, turned around and took him down in 3 shots. Then, I turned around and kept pounding away. He actually hit a rez and started dizzily backing away from me as if I wouldn't notice--haha! However, acting like a true "hero", I let him run off, and continued my primary objective for being in the zone. about 2 minutes later, BAM! There he is again for the "rematch." *sigh* Hit [Elude], typed "Dude, I'm just tryin' to get a badge", and kept pounding away at one of the turrets... But he was like a mosquito! So, I eventually turned around and pounded him into the ground again. This went on about 4 or 5 times, before he sent me a tell saying "Ok, I'll leave you alone."
"'Bout time", I thought.
Some people just don't give up--So, I completely understand your "gank" situation, ESPECIALLY on a toon that can't take the pounding... God help you if you're there as a badger.

That doesn't sound like trash talker/ganker as you call them. Unless you are missing part of the story. It sounds like he/she was wanting a win against you at that point, til they tired of losing. -

Not in the hands of us remaining few who have honor, dignity and respect for our fellow players.

I do personally feel a "kick" button would be too harsh a punishment so perhaps we could have a "time out" button instead.

Would you please [censored] already. I mean seriously, this fiteklub [censored] got old a long time ago. They made a whole issue to fight under controlled circumstances in I4. When will you [censored] learn? -

I do have sympathy for the newbies who want to PvP and no one lets them learn anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
No one lets them learn anything? Learning is something done by you, the end user. Maybe you mean to say no one taught them anything or offered to teach them anything. How did the new player learn about PvE to start with? Getting in teams with a terribad build and getting reamed for being [censored]? Did they ask questions? Go to forums? There is information here to be found about PvP and people will answer in a civilized manner. Don't blame the [censored] just because they are [censored]. -

Becuase if the good pvpers didnt take so much time smashing and running off all the new guys by having or feeling the need to excessively rub every kill they do in their face and then repeat process over and over then I 13 wouldnt even been needed. Running off new players, creates angry customers, angry customers carry it to the forums and pve, which carries over into buisness and angry customers aint good for buisness. So in sacrifice for a few L33t uber people that made it point to prove they are uber 24/7 and threw one too many grains of salt into the wound, I13 came to be for the better enjoyment of pvp by anyoen who wishes to go into it and not just the l33t few. All it would've took to avoid this nerf bat wasa little respect among players. a little honor. This is basically a self inflicted pvp nerf. Yes some people say that killing someone over and over to bug them is legal so is putting my finger in ya face but not touching you and spitting all types of explitive in front your grandma and wishing the old bat would die so I could laugh when they put her into the ground is all perfectly legal but doesnt exactly make it right. And and if I did do that, I expect a fight to ensure, which in this case complaints and animosity. Pre-13 PVP was nice with the powers and stuff, but it sucked balls because it was always like hard core pvpers owned the zone and didnt want anyone in. Well , mission accomplished on their part but that's bad for buisness by runnign off paying customers. And since the l33t group was small to begin with, they didnt stand a chance against the angry protests. Of course some of my coolest buddies was l33tz and left with the rest but if changing something to piss off a few people for the better for more then go for it. I see the concept behind I13 but dont think it worked out exactly as it was envisioned. Or maybe so depending on which side you're on. Many people are just glad the old d-wads as they became known are finally gone.
