  1. I was playing around with the free character creator for Champions Online. I wasn't too impressed with the style - I thought most of the costume pieces were too big and blocky. And the women stick out their chest way too much. But I did like the asymmetrical options as well as the body sliders. Here's what I came up with:

  2. Bubbawheat

    Empty Mission

    choose empty as mission group

max out boss and patrols to be spawned upon completion of the glowie.

That was actually fixed earlier; the last pre-Issue 16 patch I think.
I had still been having problems with chat color changes, so it wasn't completely fixed. Hopefully it is now.

    What Colors....

Changing my Burnt Matchstick's fire powers just to be a bit more unique, though I'm keeping them mostly fire colored. Changing some costume sets to all fire scimitars, one with all Greater fire sword, some with more dark fire mixed in. Though I do stick with some standards -> healing flames will always have some green in there somewhere, consume will have some blue. Just have one costume where I'm changing all the fire to a blue theme.

My MA/SR I only changed one MA power (the punch to the other punch, I like the kicks), though I might have one of her costumes with all punches just to vary it up a bit. Hmm... You know, you could make a bind to change between two identical costumes where one has kicks and the other has punches and it would feel like you have twice as many powers!

I have a few other humourous characters that I will change their powers a bit, though most of my characters/costumes are based on what the powers look like already, so I don't know how much will change there.
  5. Short answer: as already mentioned, Kheldians can't currently be customized. So, since HEATs can't be customized, VEATs can't be customized in fairness.

The opposite is true for APP/PPPs.

*can't = very difficult to figure out how to.
  6. But you haven't spent an hour in the Hollows yet.

    Congrats by the way.
  7. Sure, I like running through this little story again for none of you who care

I started back on local BBS's running 2400 baud - I thought it was a huge increase in speed when we got a 14.400 modem. I was into forgotten realms and typically used the intentionally misspelled Wolfgar.

Then we got AOL 3.x and I got to have my own e-mail address. I was determined at the time to pick something that didn't have to have a number at the end of it. Drizzt? Nope Wolfgar? Nope. Tried several other variations, then tried to figure out what else interested me at the time.

Now I was probably around 13 at the time and one of the things I thought was funny at the time was a silly extra-long hick name: Billy Bob Joe Buckwheat - You betta reco'nize! Of course, that's too long to use as a net handle, and I had occasionally used a shortened version of it based off the initials: BBJB - > Bubba J. Tried that one? Nope. One last variation: combining the long version of the name and the shortened version to come up with Bubbawheat. It worked, and it's stuck with me ever since. I've grown fond of it for its uniqueness. Even now doing a google search only comes up with a small handfull of matches that aren't me. (hint: if the name references a real person in some way, it's not me. I've never gone by Bubbawheat in real life, only online)

You got lots of choices already, but I might as well add my own: Burnt Matchstick. There's lots of choices in there for you to choose from.
  9. If you wanted to take a quick break for a game of Whack a Mole #2711 feel free. It's only 2 missions timed at a total of 15 minutes. It's a total of 9 mole bosses and one mole EB so you might want to try and hit it before i16 comes to get the most of it's already fairly limited xp.
  10. Played this a little while back and really enjoyed it. I thought it was some great storytelling. I don't really have any useful feedback because nothing stands out as needing to be changed (although I was hoping to see some explanation of the 33-34 level range here, is it a bugged enemy group?). But I thought I'd bump this thread since I thought it was a great 5 star arc worthy of my sig recommendations. Even though I didn't put the full name in so it only bumped off one arc in the list and not two.
  11. I've never played a stone armor past level 10ish, but if granite looked different, I would be more inclined to play it.

I would also approve of revamping the stone armor set altogether, but that's another topic.
  12. I probably show this one off a little too much, but I think it's great. Only kind of an action shot

Also, this was an MA arc with an ally fighting a boss:

Yep, zero. Even if the critter had a Hard primary or secondary, if the other set is missing any Standard powers then the entire critter is worthless. Doesn't matter if that other set was all Heals and Buffs or an attack set with Build Up and a Tier-9 attack.

    <sarcasm>Bloody brilliant.</sarcasm>
Either that or push i16 back a month. I'll just ignore the feature to remove standard powers until it's fixed. No change to what we have now looking at it that way (other than the standard diff change)
  14. I've only got pics of a couple mini-bugs. I thought they were interesting at the time, though they're not as interesting as the others in this thread.

Well ok Energy too since there's no immob in it. But with your power selections you would have been much better off going /energy to pair with Fire/ just for boost range.

Or if the top tier powers for mitigation are what you wanted you could have gone /Ice and got quite a bit more mitigation quite a bit earlier.

So I have to say ???????
Yeah, no one picks a secondary for the higher level powers. I did mention that I took Fire Sword Circle and Consume (that shot was taken @ lvl 25), and will be taking Burn and Hot Feet.

Another thing to think about is sometimes you don't always control where the mobs are placed. If they're grouped in front of you, or you are able to quickly position yourself to make use of a cone to the best of your ability, use Fire Breath. But if the enemies happen to be grouped around you, or it's quicker to drop into the middle of a spawn for whatever reason, use Fire Sword Circle. Or, if you're needing to use consume, use that chance to also fire off Fire Sword Circle and/or Burn. And sometimes it's easier to use Burn instead of running away for some mitigation.
  16. and of course the defeat player which is repeated each time someone is defeated.
  17. This was an interesting read though I skipped around and only read long bits and pieces here and there. I won't really offer advice, but I will share my experience with my currently level 30 fire/fire blaster:

+Blazing Bolt, Fire Sword Circle and Consume

I'm often one to solo, but this is one character that I tend to make teams or join teams for. On a team, I find that the AoEs are mostly all I need, with flares and bolt for filler. I plan on taking burn and hot feet but not blazing aura. I look at them both as defensive powers, for when I'm getting crowded and need to get a little breathing room. I imagine I will have to use them a little pre-emptively to account for their animation time, so we'll see how that goes. I find myself using Fire sword circle on good occasions, I don't notice the animation time myself as I think it's a nice looking power, though I also use combat jumping instead of hover which I'm sure makes a difference. It also helps that I make use of the resusscitate temp power from an earlier safeguard.

Good luck, personally I am greatly enjoying my fire/fire blaster and will try to solo a bit and come back and tell how it went.

  18. When I14 came along, my first inclination was always to create an origin story for my Trick Arrow/Ice Blast defender - Cerulean Archer, who I had written a few pages of an origin story already. But instead, what ended up drawing my attention to making an arc for was my Burnt Matchstick. I really liked the bio I came up with for my virtue Burnt Matchstick, Emily Metzer, as well as the real name. But I didn't want to do a hero origin story, so I changed it a little bit and made her become a villain instead, and not only a villain, but the leader of a hellions/heaven's gate type cult of women arsonists. I use even more subtle variations on the Burnt Matchstick costume for all the custom minions - 2 minions, 2 lieutenants, 1 boss, and Emily Metzer as the EB. None of them are named "Burnt Matchstick, but Emily is referred to as "Burnt Matchstick" once in dialog, and the souvenir is a matchbook with a single burnt matchstick left in it. Also with I15, I used the standard critter recoloring feature to add longbow flamethrowers and carnie senechals. I couldn't get the match pattern, but I made them mostly black with some orange highlights. Many people don't even realize they are standard enemies and not customs.

It's gone through many revisions and it's currently at a point where I'm pretty happy with it, though I might elaborate a bit with an extra mission at some point in time. Now's a good time for the arc details:

    #3369: Matchstick Women
    3 missions
    level range 25-50

    Your contact, a mysterious flame.

Believe it or not, the two on the far left are Longbow Flamethrowers.

    The City Scoop

It is very close to being ready for the new forums. Snow Globe has been putting a lot of work into it.
  20. First one was right, though I always enjoy hearing alternate theories. And, no plan for acrobatics - IOs for me, which I need to get started on.

And just picked up 8 points for 10 mil and 20 merits - lucky me.

  21. click for full size.

Guess right and win a cookie!
  22. Whoo, I was wondering when they were finally going to do something with this.

Edit: wait, posted yesterday? Was it hiding?

by the way, to put a power on auto in case you don't know, hold Ctrl and click on the power, you'll see a green circle around it, that means it's on auto.

I actually suggested this idea as well a long while back, although as a personal popup announcement, rather than a global announcement.
