How do I find a full XP Missions?

Hello all.
These changes to the MA missions has me worried.

Due to real life, I really do not have a lot of free time, so I have contented myself with doing a 50/50 split between running the MA stuff/and the missions outside the MA leaving no time to write a mission, so I am not sure about the mechanics and the connection between XP and tickets.

I have been reading with rising dismay, that some missions are having their XP, and, I guess as a result, tickets, drastically reduced.

However, from what little I understand, some MA missions will give full XP....how do I find them????

I am not looking for a "UBER" farming map mission, just fun stories that will give tickets. If there is a thread giving reviews for issue 16 missions that give tickets, please could someone direct me there??? Or give me hints of how to search for one at the MA mission finder in the AE building???? Or send me a PM with a mission number..anything will be appreciated....I am sooooooo confused, and I hate being confused.

Thank you all so much.

Lisa...or you could call me Jane Casual Player...if I am confused about how to find enjoyable missions that are worth some tickets, I am sure other non-authors are confused too.

Once again, thank you.

There will be two types of missions which will have reduced XP (and thus, I presume, tickets).

The first type are missions where the enemy group consists of less than the full 3 different ranks of enemies - for example, the classic 'boss farms'. If you get onto a map and it doesn't have minions, lieutenants, and bosses, it won't give very much xp (although, if you are solo, the map might not spawn bosses anyway - that won't lower your XP. It's only if the enemy group for the mission doesn't *have* all three ranks in it).

The second type of mission which will give reduced XP are those with custom enemies who have had their powers reduced below the 'standard' setting. Normally, you can set the enemies' power sets to 'standard', 'hard', or 'extreme' to give them varying amounts of powers. You can also set them to 'custom', which gives them the powers from the 'standard' setting but allows you to choose specific powers to add to that. In issue 16, the 'custom' setting will no longer have the requirement to take the 'standard' powers - in fact, you can even give them no powers at all - but if they don't have at least the 'standard' powers, they will give no XP.

Aside from that, the rest of the missions will still give decent amounts of XP. You just need to avoid the usual boss farms, and pay attention to see if any custom enemies you are fighting are giving you XP.

Just look for normally written arcs. Generally, people who don't write farm missions will use the full complement of elements in a custom group, as well as give their custom critters a decent amoun of powers. So just keep an eye out for stuff that either has no description on an incomprehensibly garbled one and stay away from that.

You might want to read up on that again. The newest Test Server patch still has Standard being 75% XP, Hard and Extreme being 100% XP, and if you go below Standard at all it is ZERO XP.

Yep, zero. Even if the critter had a Hard primary or secondary, if the other set is missing any Standard powers then the entire critter is worthless. Doesn't matter if that other set was all Heals and Buffs or an attack set with Build Up and a Tier-9 attack.

Either that or push i16 back a month. I'll just ignore the feature to remove standard powers until it's fixed. No change to what we have now looking at it that way (other than the standard diff change)

Hopefully we can get them to finally fix the Standard setting for Kinetics first. It was always dumb that Standard for a LT or higher includes Transference (end drain) instead of Transfusion (heal). Now that they fixed Transference in a previous patch, this is putting Kinetics right into "Forbidden Set" territory as players are generally not going to enjoy critters who can spam a -55% end power on them. Certainly not for only 75% of normal XP.

Looks like they didn't remember their lesson from when Dark Miasma included Darkest Night as a Standard Power.

Somehow i'm ok with this. Bunches of people complained that the standard NPCs were too easy and wished they were diverse like we are, but as soon as we get what we asked for, we proceed to gimp them for the sake of cheap XP. I say, if you want prize, be ready to fight for it!

Except that all those canon critters that are weaker than Standard custom critters (just about all of them) give more XP. Customs have more powers, stronger debuffs, and hit harder. This is just ridiculous.

Transference has a thirty-second recharge time, which doesn't exactly lend itself to "spamming"...that's why I used it on my replacements for Malta Sappers. If you let them live long enough to shoot you twice, you deserve it.

Edit: I just gave the first mission of "Blowback" a try on Test (didn't have time for a full run) and while Neutralizers are definitely more troublesome with the Transference fix, they are still waaaaaay less irritating than Sappers.

That's assuming that you don't get multiple critters with it at a time, nor have the bad luck to see one in multiple spawns in a row.

It's still idiotic as powerful End Sapping powers are supposed to be in the Hard rank along with Energy Drain, Power Sink, Drain Psyche, etc...

Erm.... isn't that what I said?

I certainly agree that it's dumb as heck, though.
