Actually, my pants ARE faster than me, but they're not a lie. You'll find them on the Champion server, where they've animated a mannequin for mobility and fight the forces of evil. See?
They've got mind control/healing, but my favorite move is hitting Whirlwind and yelling "The pants are on spin cycle!"

There's just so much win here... I... I can't... *head asplode* -
I assume they'll stay the same opacity, so it'll look like a light-colored smoke bubble.

My recommendation, if possible, is to save the $300 until you have another $300 or so to add to it. -

I had a longer post, but after reading Starsman's post again, I realized it would be a lot faster to just give it one big "Yar."
Not sure what colors I'll be changing yet. I think part of why I picked the particular sets I've played were because of their colors. Now that I could have any set be any color I want... it's like the floodgates have opened. -

I'm cool with Gauntlet as is. I think it's a critical tool in aggro management, and at least that portion shouldn't be changed.
If they were to add another component on top of that, however, you'd hear no complaints from me... it's a very "behind-the-scenes" kind of power as it currently is. -
Yar, might not be a bad idea. I've been noticing the "cone stretching" for a while now as well... most of my melee toons position with hurdle and CJ. If I jump backwards over a spawn as I activate, I can sometimes land 30 or more feet away from my original target, and still hit everything between me and him.

Patch notes on test for 6/16:
Powers
General
* Fixed a bug where cones could hit significantly more enemies than intended.
There was another thread showing people hitting targets with Sands of Mu that were 40-50 feet away. This is apparently being fixed on test, and moving around or circle strafing while activating the power to increase the targets you hit will no longer work.
EDIT for thread linkage. -

Ghost Falcon:
I'm going to suggest you put all chat-related bugs into the *critical* category.
Why?
Because chat-related bugs are the single most visble category of bugs in the game. EVERYONE sees them. EVERYONE deals with them.
Seeing your most basic social interface bugged, in an established MMORPG, presents a very unpolished and unprofessional product.
I strongly urge you to put all reported chat interface bugs on the "critical - do not release until fixed" list.

/signed and /signed again for emphasis!

Yar.
Chat bugs affect combat too... it's nearly impossible to give orders or even signal an incoming ambush when you more often than not have to:
Hit Enter
Begin Typing; realize the chat box is filled with incomprehensible garbage
Hit escape to clear chat box
Begin typing again; realize chat is filled with the second half of what you were trying to type before
Hit escape; take a deep breath; squeeze the stress ball a few times; finally type what you want; hit enter.
Then you realize you're all dead already. -

There we go, two more sticks of 1GB DDR2, nice and cheap. As you already know, you may not see all of it, but once you upgrade to something 64-bit, they'll be there waiting for you. -

Dunno, something about that whole build approach sets my teeth on edge...

For me, it's mostly going as far as Tough in the fighting tree, but not getting Weave. IMO, that's like taking Hurdle and Health, but skipping Stamina. -
What's your current memory configuration? ie, X sticks of Y size, with Z slots free.

Most new cards want at least a 500-watt power supply. They also have certain demands for amperage on the +12-volt rail. Yours has two +12-volt rails with 18A each, so 36A total.
One of the best cards around the $200 mark is the EVGA GTX 260. However, this requires a 500-watt power supply with 36A on the +12-volt rail. It's actually possible your power supply could cut it, but you'd be using it at near-100% capacity, and I wouldn't expect it to live a long (or happy) life under those conditions. EDIT: Nvm, the GTX 260 takes two 6-pin connections. Your PSU only has one. Don't dew eet.
You could go with this combo:
EVGA GTS 250
OCZ StealthXStream 600W Power Supply
That would run just a little over $200. Ideally, you could put that PSU with the GTX 260, and land at about $230 after mail-in rebates.
One more question: is your computer a Dell 9200? EDIT: Disregard this. -

I've worked on laptops that people used on beds and such, and have literally pulled out handfuls of lint from the heatsinks and fans. Blow them suckers out, then shine a light and see if there are any obstructions between the fins of your heatsink(s).
If you use your laptop on a bed, couch, or your lap, get a lapdesk or similar hard, flat surface to place it on. I kinda like the look of this cooler. Its air intake is at the back, so you can still use it on your lap without obstructing the fans. It's also powered through USB, so it's portable. -
Yar, about the only twitch skill this game has is seeing that Freak Tank about to lop the blaster's head off out of the corner of your eye, and being able to respond in time with the appropriate action.

Okay. It has been copied to the desktop. How do I then point it to the right directory? I'm not seeing any "Working Directory" option in the properties.

I think when you execute the file it will ask where your CoX directory resides. -

I'd just nab Windows 7 Release Candidate if you plan on purchasing the full version when it's released. It's free to download; just make sure you grab the 64-bit version.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just don't forget, from the sound of it there's no upgrade from RC to Release - it'll be a wipe and reload.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yar, true. But it's a good idea to do the same if you go from XP Home to Windows 7, so it's a process you'll be undertaking either way. -

Huh, I always assumed the game in general had a large GLBT population. I'm not terribly experienced on other servers... they frighten me because they are different.
And I thought Victory was known as the surly, antisocial server... but that might just be Voo. -

1. ITF's in Cimerora
2. RWZ contacts
3. Old school Contact mishes, mostly in PI
4. Radio mishes
5. MA mishes.
That's what I can think of off the top of my head, anywho. -

Strange, they call mezzes "binds" in the manual. That could get confusing for newbies.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're aware that "mezzes" was never an official term in CoH, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, I'm aware of it, I just had no idea what the "official" term was. And considering every person I've ever talked to calls 'em mezzes, I think they should change the manual.Especially when "binds" means something else already. I suppose they expected us to say "binds" and "keybinds."

Also: old Defiance. Other than that, very impressive. -
Trust me, you're not the only one. From what I've heard it's a bug with the original heroside TF's that seems to cause half of the team to crash upon completion. Happened to me last night on a Sister Psyche. Thankfully, I haven't experienced the long verify times you're getting (about 45 seconds here). I'll join the chorus and recommend a comprehensive defrag or three.
