    Ridiculous

Please, no more sexist comments. Thanks.

Spirit tree is apparently getting upgraded on test in US maybe here too

    [/ QUOTE ]
On the Training Room since yesterday, if you want to give it a try.

    1. What happens when we hit 40? Do we stop getting XP and therefore new skills?

    [/ QUOTE ]
At present, 40 is the level cap for City of Villains.

    [ QUOTE ]
    2. Is there any proposed date of release for post level 40 support, although I'm only level 24, I would like to have something waiting for me when i eventually reach 40+.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe the current plan is for 41-50 content to be added in the first post-CoV Issue (#7 or #1, depending on how you look at it).

I understand that this Issue will also feature the Villain version of Ancillary Pools (the 'official' name for what were originally called Epic Pools). As I understand it, these are likely to be linked to which of Lord Recluse's favoured Lieutenants you choose to ally yourself with, but that's not yet confirmed.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
So what you're saying Hippy is that you have to team. What if you don't want to?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You are now unable to solo Heroic missions?

    [ QUOTE ]
In short, not the easiest state to achieve.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Stealth + Hide makes you completely invisible. Thats one tier one pool power plus the power you get at level one. Thats a teensy weensy bit overpowered...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just did some testing of this, but before the results I want to confirm that Cryptic is paying a lot of attention to Stalkers in PvP.

I also wanted to remind everyone that perception is not the only way to deal with Stalkers. Any hit will drop their stealth, so AoE powers and effects - particularly 'auto hit' ones (like Caltrops or Burn, for example) will pop their stealth. Likewise, keeping moving will make it harder for them to line up an attack.

I would strongly recommend that anyone who feels that Stalkers are 'teh uber' give one a try.

Anyway, results. Tests with Level 20 characters in Bloody Bay, a Controller vs a Stalker. All Accuracy Inspirations used were 'small' ones.

    Hide
Tactics - Stalker visible from a very long way away.
Inspirations - Stalker visible from a good distance with 1 Inspiration.

    Hide + Stealth
Tactics - Stalker visible from a good distance with 2 Inspirations + Tactics.
Inspirations - Stalker visible from a good distance with 4 Inspirations.

    Hide + Invisibility
Tactics - Stalker visible at melee range with 2 Inspirations + Tactics.
Inspirations - Stalker visible at melee range with 4 Inspirations.

The general consensus seems to be that if you have a high post count or is generally well known you are exempted from certain behavioural rules that apply to others.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can assure you that whatever the general consensus may believe, this is not the case when it comes to the moderation of these boards.

I do my best to give everyone a little slack, as I appreciate how much this game means to many of us (myself included). However, I do not apply the rules preferentially to some and not to others.

If you or anyone else feels that I am displaying some form of bias in my moderation, please PM me and we can discuss the matter. There is always more to learn, and I try my best to do so as often as I can.

    Solo base/lair

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
During the CoV beta I read something on the US boards (which I check quite frequently) about plans for small hideouts/apartments (not SG dependent) in the "near" future.
The base building cost is something that annoys me as well, I don't want to join a large SG just to be able to have a base.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well that's good news. I'll take a rumor over nothing anyday.
Let's just hope 'near future' is anytime soon. Like before the turn of the next century. :P

    [/ QUOTE ]
As confirmed above in the post where Positron is quoted, small 'apartments' or something similar for solo players and/or small SGs is being worked on.

In the meantime, though, it's perfectly possible for a solo player to have a base of their own, but it will take you time (and probably a lot of it) to earn the Prestige for 'functional' items like teleporters.

Bases, like Level 50 characters, are intended to be something that you earn through play, and have significant 'prestige' (in the sense of being impressive to other players and SGs, rather than the stuff you earn from defeating foes in SG mode) associated with them.

It is entirely possible that the Prestige costs for various base components will be fine-tuned over the coming months. However, I suspect that it will always require a significant amount of time and effort to earn a fully functional, raidable base - and a top of the line model with all the trimmings will take a very long time indeed.
  8. Finally, just wanted to say that, if you don't wish to PvP, you don't have to - it's that simple.

Admittedly, at present you do need to enter the PvP zones briefly to complete the 'introductory' missions. As mentioned above, this is shortly to be changed, so that the contact you have to speak to is standing outside the PvP zone entrance.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Players will be sent to liaisons that will be outside the PvP zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You know I'm amazed.

First, I'm amazed that an idea that hit my totally out of the blue today as a perfect solution has actually been thought of by Cryptic and will be implemented.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to confirm that this is coming, and is another change based directly on player feedback and suggestions.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
wonder if you can petition someone for knowingly using a design flaw to grief (and killing in a supposed safe zone is griefing).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Both griefing and exploiting are against the EULA.

If you come across something in the game that appears to be or could be seen as an exploit, please report it (best to use both /bug and /petition in these cases) then do not make use of it. We would also appreciate you not making the exploit public knowledge, at least until we can confirm whether or not it's intended or not.

Feel free to PM me in these cases, and I'll check whether or not the situation is an exploit or not, as I appreciate this can be something of a grey area - one man's exploit is another man's clever tactic and all that.

Indeed, you need to keep those alts in...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Funnily enough, smart [censored], they are. Because they never left. It just says revoked because a member left regardless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now THAT was just uncalled for. Calling people names is against the board rules, don't do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. Especially when people are trying to explain something.

    Let's keep things civil, please.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
If you're over 17 then taunt won't effect them

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, opponents affected by a power take precedence over those that aren't, so in most cases Taunt should aggro the targets and lose the aggro of other opponents.

When you're facing more than 17 opponents at a time, that is.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I've seen this as well. I think that the server is processing the sequence: Mob Attack/Mob Placated/Mob damage takes effect (which then unhides you). It's a damned nuisance.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I suspect that's what's happening. You need to watch what's going on and time your Placate accordingly - a bit like using Snipe in combat when soloing a Blaster.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    vs S/L/N/F/C (Without Overload)
    DEF: 23.3% RES: 8.8%
Over 30 seconds, will average 1022.7168 damage

    vs E (Without Overload)
    DEF: 29.2% RES: 8.8%
Over 30 seconds, will average 796.7232 damage

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just curious - where are the numbers from? I'm guessing somewhere on the US boards? (Sorry, been so busy I haven't had a chance to keep up with the US boards for a while now.)

    PvP Complainers

    [ QUOTE ]
I know you're trying to be helpful but the advice isn't needed.
Here's the scenario - i'm exploring Warburg, doing the telephone box thing. Land beside one (I have SJ) and discover one of those spider things so I have a pop at it, easy enough to dispatch and I'm just getting ready to launch when *bam* immobilized. A controller appear out of nowhere (obviously invisible and is closely followed by *I think* a blaster and tanker who start laying on the damage and I dont have any BFs (being a regen scrapper i got into the habit of just giving them away). The hold wears off and im trying to run and switch on SJ again when *bam* held again. Repeat twice more before I wind up at hospital.
Now, what tactics would have worked for me there?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Working in a team, perhaps?

Everything in bases is sold back for the same price you bought it for.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Exept the plot. You dont get a refund if you are chosing a cheaper plot or a discount when chosing a more expensive one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Strange, during the CoV beta I changed plot sizes several times and was always refunded the same amount of presige that the plot originally cost.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That was certainly my experience. I'm not aware of any changes to this.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe that the only exception to this is items created with Salvage - if you remove these (or the room they're in), you'll lose the item (and thus the Salvage used to create it).
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I think when you kick them, you lose that persons 20k, and if you don't have the 20k, you go into debt. Apparently.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    That's my understanding.

Prestige can go negative. So even if you've 'spent' it on things in your base, you'll still lose the bonus Prestige earned from recruiting people if they are kicked.
