Epic Pools ? I musta missed something.
Epic Power Pools are unlocked once you hit Level 41. They're specific to each AT and the great thing about them is they help "round out" a character - giving you some of the things you'd been missing up to now.
For example, Tankers and Scrappers can pick some ranged attacks, Defenders and Blasters can pick up damage resistance and uber-melee attacks, etc.
As with other power pools, you need one from the first two powers before you can pick up the third power, and any two other powers before you can pick up the fourth.
Although they come in various flavours that resemble other power types, you don't have to stick to ones that fit your build up to now - for example, a Fire/Fire tank could cheerfully pick up Ice powers or a Psi defender can pick up Elec powers.
One tiny catch for CoV fans - the current content and levels stop at 40, so no epic powers for you until there's content to support post-40 people

Thanks for that, sounds interesting. I will look forward to it.

Coupla questions based on what Dreamweaver says:
1. What happens when we hit 40? Do we stop getting XP and therefore new skills? Surely this would negate the point of playing, I can understand the CoH version, when you hit 50, you get access to the Kheldians, but that in itself is an attraction to "roll" a new character, but to hit 40 in CoV and then just have to take a standard AT and level them up wouldn't be attractive at all.
2. Is there any proposed date of release for post level 40 support, although I'm only level 24, I would like to have something waiting for me when i eventually reach 40+.

It doesn't "negate" the point of playing. Lots of things to do even when you hit max level. More so now that we have CoH AND CoV. If you think a max-lvl character is "good for retirement", you lose much of the fun.
Moreover, it is likely that they will "soon" bring the max lvl for villains to 50, and Epic pools should be there at the same time.

I have absolutely no idea. Maybe on Issue 7?

I've heard various different rumours relating to post-40 content for CoV:
- Post-40 adventures on the island of Grandville
- Corolax Hybrids as an Epic Archetype (like Kheldians)
- Evil dimension-hopping missions
- A new top-level PvP zone set in an alternate reality (Recluse's Victory)
Can anyone confirm, deny, "officially deny" or "soooooon" for these?

Either Coralax or coralax hybrids are an upcoming epic AT for at least one City Of... game.
- Evil dimension-hopping missions
Can't confirm, but is likely.

At present, 40 is the level cap for City of Villains.

I believe the current plan is for 41-50 content to be added in the first post-CoV Issue (#7 or #1, depending on how you look at it).
I understand that this Issue will also feature the Villain version of Ancillary Pools (the 'official' name for what were originally called Epic Pools). As I understand it, these are likely to be linked to which of Lord Recluse's favoured Lieutenants you choose to ally yourself with, but that's not yet confirmed.

But can we save up xp for when the cap is raised?
I really should do something about this signature.

Very much doubt this will happen, cause you will get people just insantly skipping past all thr 40-50 content to 50, Which im sure they wouldnt appreciate.
What do You mean by that bridger, do you mean that you can choose to be like recluse, ghost widdow, the metal scorpian thing, captain mako or the guy with the sword?
cause thats what ive been hoping for....
or a MasterMind with Khieldians....that would be cool
I started on CoH pretty much on release but took a break. I have seen mention of epic power pools but cant seem to find any info on them.
Anyone help ?
