Quote:Then you'd just complain the sheath doesn't disappear when you drew your weapon, or that you quiver was always empty or always full of arrows.Doesn't change the fact that it still looks bad. Where is my sheath or quiver?
It just wouldn't make sense, because you know, you have the weapon in your hand and unsheathed it. -
Quote:Agreed. This for me. Shields is a very fun defensive set, but is limiting in concepts with restrictions and actually having to have a shield on your arm.
Not that I don't think a Bubble Shield defense set wouldn't likely hinder some people's concepts. But it's a fun defense set to use, but it can't be paired with every offensive set, and yes, it does require you to basically have a shield.
The bubble would be a bit more forgiving with concepts. -
Quote:Would you prefere they just appeared in your hand, at which point you'd complain that they just appear out of no where. And pulling a bow staff, war mace, broadsword, giant sword from your butt doesn't look stupid either?
Really, with the draw animations, it's not that hard to use a bit of imagination. -
The stooges seemed to be pretty dead on.
I think the scenes showing Larry, seemed to really nail it.
The downside I see, is while yes The Three Stooges were slapstick comedy, it looks like they're going the route of Starky and Hutch or the new 21 Jump Street, where they don't make the remake in the same tone, and tend to just make fun of the premise and everything about the original. -
Not sure on the penalty to DPS or AOE damage, buuuut, Burn would be easy enough to use with DB, in that there's plenty of times to use a power in between attacks and still maintain the combo.
BF -> Heal -> Alabating Strike -> Burn -> Vengeful Slice -> Fiery Embrace -> Sweeping Strike!
That will still still pull off the Attack Vitals combo. -
Yes, it's smashing damage. I don't really consider that a problem, especially when players have said they don't care about the damage type they're doing if it meant getting the weapon skin they want (ie...Dual Blunt Objects for Dual Blades).
While not true for every player, what is?
I just use my imagination on this one.
There's awesomeness and then there's really damn OP. Every cone having a 120 degree arc, and there's three of them, and one PBAOE. That's a slot of AOE. It's still limited to the usual AOE target cap many other melee sets are limited on.
As for the PBAOE, that's a 15ft range PBAOE, that's bigger than every other melee PBAOE except for Footstomp. So, it does have a larger AOE radius compared to most melee PBAOEs.
I see lots of enemies being knocked down myself for enemy reaction.
You also have a set capable of high ST DPS and great AOE.
The set is fun, and it looks like they made a new set that is indeed made to be up there in the top three instead of somewhere in the middle. -
Quote:We also lack shorter skirts.Anime is actually quite poorly supported, because:
- Too little cute hair decorations in Detail 1.
- Too few wild hairstyles.
- No animated hair.
- No hair to the feet.
- Too few rage-fit emotes.
- Chest slider can't be below 10.
- School uniform generator is too limited.
- Eyes too small and still lacks expressiveness.
- Mouth too big.
- Nose too big.
- No face expressions.
- No way of setting eye colours.
- Animal ears don't flick.
- Too few sock options in Boots. (I mean, just baggy socks or grade D zettai ryouiki... sheesh)
- No accessories.
- No chainsaws. Well, that's not that big a problem, but still...
- Mechs to small.
- Mechs don't transform.
- Can't ride mechs.
- No implied nudity in costume change emotes.
- No animal pets.
- Skirts won't lift in the wind. Or flutter for any reason. So panty shots are tricky.
- No collateral damage (outside Mayhems, and even then it's limited: you have to use AoE or explicitly aim at a post box for it to explode).
- The world doesn't fade out to a whooshing effect when attacking.
- No beach episodes or hot springs episodes.
- No nose-bleeds.
- No maid or harem MM set.
- Poor swimsuit options.
- No rain.
- No jiggle physics.
- And no jpop song playing when logging in or out.
...just to mention a few of the most important things to fix. -
Quote:I'd make Rend Armor the new Assassin Strike, as the animations are already there for it.Looking the set over I see a possibilities
Rend Armor(as I mentioned above)
Titan Sweep(as Kioshi mentioned)
then we get speculative(and with the AS change in mind)
if Build Momentum becomes normal Build Up, AS can become a builder.
Follow Through would be the only candidate I could see without giving up any AoE.
Otherwise Whirling Smash seems like an option.
Seems like Follow Through or Rend Armor are the best bets though.
I don't see how Titan Sweep could be replaced considering it's the level 2 power and the other powers seem inappropriate for that level.
Basically it'd be a Build Momentum attack like it is now, only it'd have AS level damage. -
Quote:They got rid of the second weakest attack int he set. That itself itsn't bad. StJ didnt lose it's AOE (which would of gotten more complaints).'Cause it sucks enough that Street Justice lost it's -Res power in the port to Stalker-dom. ^_^
What sucks is they didnt give Rib Cracker's animation as an alternate animation for Shin Breaker. Rib Cracker just looks better! -
Quote:Having a MA/WP who took Crane Kick (the animation is great, why wouldn't you?!), I never found it to be a problem. Not to mention the KB isn't even reliable. Basically the downside to Crane Kick's KB is overexaggerated. The only conflict (not a big one tho) is Crane Kick KB'ing mobs out of your aura in WP and Invul (or shields which I find a great pairing for MA), but since Cobra Strike now is basically identical to CK minus the KB (plus a Stun) it's no biggie.
But now with Cobra Strike being identical (which is great imo) it does mean one can easily skip it on a tight build, more so if they can run the best single target attack chain. However if the build doesn't have the recharge for that, nothing wrong with continuing to use Crane Kick. -

Quote:I actually wonder how the show would of turned out if none left. Would of been completely different for sure, and I wonder if it would have lasted as long if they didnt.Yeah most of the series is in my DVD library...I should see about getting the rest or else the entire box set. Though when RADAR left in mid Season 8, to me that was when most of the heart or innocence left the show. Imagine if Alan Alda/Hawkeye left.....that would have shut it down.

Quote:Yeah, I'm sure people will love having a more non-lethal looking weapon option.StJ and TW are not really my cup of tea, but Staff Fighting is something I have wanted for five years.
I will just use my Paragon points to get that set and all is well.
It's about time. I just hope they come up with a variety of staff weapon skins for it at launch. I really want to go with a pure energy staff, and not some energy staff with a tech handle in the middle.
-
Well, I know I wasn't the only one wanting buster sword style weapon skins (basically huge weapons) for the exsisting weapon sets, so I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be popular.

Not to mention, with everyone and their love of AOE, and it having 4 aoes, is likely to make it popular too. -
-
I'd be happy just for an awesome Dual Pistols Epic Pool for the melee ATs. Yes, I'd want 5 powers ffrom Dual Pistols put into it, but so what! Take Hail of Bullets, lower it's range to 10-20ft, get rid of the +Def part of it, and put it at a 4minute recharge! I'd still take it, slot it and use it!

Quote:You're right Sam!Just for the sake of being thorough, here's how I read MOO's OP:
At the time this thread was made, there was a great debate about gender parity of costume piece, both in the Techbot's thread on the subject and David Nakayama's own official thread on it. I read MOO's thread as addressing two of the most popular subjects of debate - gender-neutral pieces and parity in number of costume pieces.
The former is what I consider to be an overreaction by quite a few of us, in the form of a request that all new costume pieces be ported to all models. While this stemmed from a desire to give women the pieces they lacked, it also had the extreme downside of also denying women actual female-specific, feminine clothing, as those couldn't be ported to men. MOO disagrees with this, and rightly so. He sees his wife as attractive and, as a counterpoint to the drive to make men and women in this game more homogeneous, he speaks out to oppose this trend, postulating that women are sexy and that's OK.
The latter is a largely reasoned argument that it's impossible to give women ports of all costume items they can use from men AND give them feminine clothing because that would mean women would have vastly more costume pieces than men would, and people would complain. MOO disagrees with this, based on personal opinion. He sees that his wife possesses many times more articles of clothing that he does, and yet finds that he's OK with this. Personally, I agree with him on this point entirely.
The line which spawned this "controversy" is merely saying the above two paragraphs in a single sentence, more or less. Women, i.e. female characters in this game, for which the term "women" is used interchangeably in casual posting practice, need more clothing and, in particular, more sexy clothing. While I don't disagree with this assertion overall, I happen to believe that they've had enough sexy clothes and could use some other clothes for a while yet. I recall Bad Influence going quite a ways to disagree with this, so it's not an empty statement to make, and well worth making, in fact. Just not in its own brand new thread, but that's besides the point.
Additionally, I do agree that women need to have more clothes than men. They're at the disadvantage of having just one character model with severely limited physical build variety to men's two models of rather variable build, plus it's generally socially acceptable for women to wear pretty much all men's clothing, plus they have a whole host of female clothing that it's not generally socially acceptable for men to wear, thus the game generally tends to avoid representing them.
There's no need to misread this. All that does is detract from the point.
But then I think MOO has a point, in so much as I think there's really less pieces a majority of people would put their male avatar into, versus what a majority of people would put their female avatars into.
Skirt and Pants options would likely get equal use on a female avatar. On a male avatar, that skirt will not be used all that much at all, and likely prove to be a waste of developer time.
What I took MMO's OP to be is that he thinks it's best to give females EXTRA options as that's where the money will lie.
Now, I do think there is room to even the gap between male and female avatars. Like a new top section!
Give male avatar's access to shirts! They'll have the ability to wear a baggy shirt and not one tight to them. They can even give them a cutoff shirt so they can go all 80's!
They could also give them some more short options! Don't see why they can't make Shorts 1, 2 and 3 available to male avatars.
And then while they're at it, they can make male/female versions of cutoff jeans (buttoned and unbuttoned versions) at daisy duke length and a bit longer length for both male and female avatars!
Which of course, you combine that new short option with males having the short cut off shirt option and you can call it the 80's pack! -
Quote:I don't know. Can DA cap PSI? Sure. Still takes considerable amount of work to do so, which likely hurts the build in other ways if you're going for capped Psi Resist. The point is simple.
Aside from Invuln with Smashing and Lethal, no set in the game can cap more than one resistance type at a time. And in order to cap Smashing and Lethal, the rest of Invuln's resistances top out around 30%.
Dark Armor has solid resistance all around, with the exception of Energy, it can cap Psi, and gets a very good amount of Negative resistance. If it could cap both Negative and Psi, it is very likely the rest of it's resistances would be lower than they are. -
If you're looking to go Scrapper, go EA.
If you're undecided between Scrapper or Brutes (or even Tanker), then go EA for Scrapper and ELA for Brute/Tanker.
That's from a purely numbers perspective tho, which includes things like 90% Energy Resist and a taunt aura. -
I wish I was one of those DIrty Dozen. *sniffles*

Quote:I love that line from the series. It was a good episode. The show is a classic. AndThat was a good one and ranks up there with a little speech that Col. Blake gave to Hawkeye after an old friend of Hawkeye's died on the operating table. I think it went along the lines of:
"There are two rules in war they taught me at command school, rule #1 is that young men die in a war and rule #2 is that doctors cannot change rule #1".
Col. Potter was an excellent replacement for Col. Blake but I liked both characters as well.
RIP Col. Potter! Salutes...... now lets head to the Swamp for a toast to his memory...
to Harry Morgan passing.

Quote:And now you dont see those ELM/SH Scrappers as much.I dunno, guys... I've played around w/ TW for Tankers, and I feel a port to Stalkers, w/ all its KDs and AoE, will a little game-breaking.
I mean this in the sense that once it is ported, you will see nothing but TW/Nin (like some have already said in this very thread), kinda like what Elec/Shield did to Scrappers (to a lesser extent after the nerf/fix).
I dunno, we'll see... basically, as is, TW fixes everything wrong w/ Stalkers, as long as you stick to that powerset: we'll see what they do w/ the port
Or like how I know I don't see Fire/Kins as much.
I liked the idea of TW/NIN before the announced changes to Stalker in i22, which you're right makes it seem like it would be even more awesome!
I say, so what!? It's been mentioned before, and it'll continue to be this way, there's combos within ATs that are the best and ones that are considered bottom of the barrel. So it's okay that this combo MAY (we really have no idea yet) be a top combo.
Not to sure myself. Ninja is awesome in that I like it's mechanics (Positional Defense and Regenny feel with the self heal) as it fits my concept (untill the devs make my suggested Temporal Armor *hint devs hint*), but WP imo seems tougher. -
Oh! I know one not ont he list, and likely not seen by many...
Super Fuzz!
Cop who get's superpowers! Classic!
