The same as always!
I have no idea how far any new toons will get in levels, so I level it like I'm playing in i18, which of course, we are. -
Quote:This! So that if you decide you want to run a Posi or Synapse you'll definately have Stamina, Hurdle, Health and Swift available to you, along with a few extra powers you'd normally put off until the 20s (because you were trying to fit the Fitness pool in).
All those level 20 powers can now be grabbed at level 20!
Yes, some people already grabbed them at level 20, but I'd say a majority of people grabbed stamina at level 20.
I'd rather have this, and take three powers I move off my tray, but grab for concept reasons. I've taken Laser Beam Eyes and left it one slotted before, just for concept because I didn't have the slots for it. -
Quote:Well...I will have perma hasten on my brute so I'm looking for the best dps km attack chain for that kind of recharge. I also have gloom but I'm not sure if that is a good choice to include in the attack chain. I'm not good with number crunching or I would do this myself. Can anyone help?
BB - BS - QS - BB - BS - CS - Repeat
is I believe the best DPS chain for just using Kin Melee attacks, or it might have been the best, with lots of rechagre but not quite impossible amounts of recharge.
Gloom I think would replace QS, but would mean losing the -DMG stacking of keeping a Kin Melee attack in the chain.
BB - BS - QS - Gloom - CS - Repeat, might be better. -
But I want to see a DS9 movie!
And I liked Nemesis, as it felt like they were adding small space crafts for ship to ship fighting! -
Quote:Or it was just a design feature!A tall hat could be for engineering purposes as well.
Engineer Bob: "Oh shoot, we forgot to put in Feature #5447! We'll have to redesign the whole head to make it fit in there!"
Engineer Ted: "We don't have time! The Marketing guys set the release date for next week AND promised Feature 5447 in all the press releases. We can't redesign the internals of the head. Just make a hat and stuff it in there!"
Engineer Bob: "So, the parts needed for Feature 5575? Add a beard?"
"Hmmm...all these features and it just looks sooo boring! It needs...personality! I know, a top hat and a beard!"

Quote:Where the villain enters the mission dangling a captive over a vat of boiling acid, and the hero has to defeat you and get the captive free in a timed amount of time.Well, define "truly villainous". Several of the Praetorian arcs are quite nasty. And what about all those villain Tip and Morality missions? And there's a new villain arc coming with I 19. If none of those count, then what does something have to be to count as "truly villainous"?
If you run away, the hero focuses on the captive. If the captive is freed, they run out the door and can get away!
You lose by not defeating this automatically hero (no lowering to EB status, because then people start saying silly things like "so and so signature character is weak" and really that just annoys me
), or not distracting the hero long enough to allow the captive to drop into the vat of acid.
If the captive drops in the vat of acid before the hero is defeated, you then have the option to stay and fight or run away victorious in your evil deed! Two ways to win the mission, only one way to lose!
How's that? -
Quote:I thought he did.May be "useless" for that primary, but try telling a lowbie Mind/Storm or Ill/Storm that. Not to mention any corruptor, defender or MM that takes the set.
Hint for suggesting power changes- you have to look at the totality of users, not just your own narrow perspective.
Everyone could use the Heal Other feature for when they're teaming (or in the case of Troller their pet, though Corrs do have access to a pet in their Patron, and Defenders can skip it).
So on the totality of users, all could use it.
I don't care either way, I'm just saying, based on your post, it's not hard to see how having O2 Boost be the first choice doesn't help just as many people as having gale, which quite a few people don't care for. -
Quote:Sure there is. Tap on the run arrow, and you will keep stopping. There is a workaround for jumping already in game. Depending on how long you hold the spacebar will change the height you jump. So, very quickly tapping the spacebar will cause the character to do a little hoppy jump, holding down will extend the full height of the jump.
This also applies to characters without Hurdle/Combat Jumping/Super Jump/Ninja Run. And it's neat.
Sadly the same does not happen with Swift, but then whenever I switch from playing a 50 to a level 1-10, I find running terrible (slow terrible). Hence why I love Ninja Run, even on robots.
And I RP.
And I live with the fact that Hellions should be putting any of my characters in hospital or making them limp along whenever they use Pistol.
£8.99/month is too expensive to just RP.

Quote:I'm under the impression that I have yet to see an incarnate in the game that wasn't fit (great regeneration and recovery ie Health/Stamina).Only if you're under the generalized assumption that all incarnates are of the categorization of 'fit'.
I'm under the impression that I don't see a normal human maintaining an unfit lifestyle doing the activities one would need to do to reach level 50, without the side effect of getting into a fit shape.
I'm under the impression that I've seen a lot of "Oh my end issues! Lower the cost of powers! I always have to take Stamina, and I want to take other stuff!" now only to see the reverse of "Ack! You gave us what we wanted, and now we don't!"
-
A thought just occured to me.
Are all those who are against inherent Fitness, because they think their shouldn't be fit, going to skip doing incarnate stuff? Because, wouldn't that unfit/down to earth character, not be an incarnate either? -

Quote:Oh, well, I guess it would all depend on the uptime and recharge of the power.Because of the short duration the value needs to be high enough to have a substantial impact for the needed short duration of the power. I actually chose 40% was because that's what allowed for those specific ratios of survivability I gave. In order to preserve that same level of performance while lowering the resistance provided, the uptime ratio would need to be changed (which is risky because, as I wrote it, the power has a potential uptime of 33% with SOs, which is already very high for that kind of power; MoG has only 12.5%).
When I thought about it, I was thinking more along the lines of the +Resist staying around for a bit (thusly a lower resist number), rather than the +Resists for a few seconds.
Hmmm...You know...the uptime and recharge of Dull Pain, so the ability to perma it, without it being cheap/easy might be a good way to go about it.
But that's just me liking the idea of perma-ing it, without neededing to keep it on 100% of the time *shrug* -
Well, it could have something to do with arcanatime.
You fell within the server tick before it realized you ran over. -
Quote:Seeing as how they made the movies fast enough to keep the actors within 1-2 years of their characters ages, I really never saw the problem. The producers actually thought of this. After the third movie, they looked into the possibility of recasting for age. But after researching and polling their audience, they learned that the majority of viewers wanted them to keep the same actors as long as possible.
I mean it's not a 30 year old playing an 18 year old (though some 30 yearolds can pull that off), it's a 20-21 yearold playing an 17-18 year old. It's really not that big of a deal.
Now...if they put more time in between the making of the movies, I could see this possibly being an issue. -
Quote:See, I wouldn't mind watching him watch one person in the cowl, not multiple Batman's, and really, I rather like the idea of a Bat-Family, more than an army of Batmans.i want to see what they do with it before really making a decision. could be good, could be more crap. frankly what i wish they'd do is not put Bruce back in the cowl so soon. i realize not putting him back in the cowl at all would be impossible, but i think it would be a more fun dynamic watching Bruce sit back and see what someone else does as the Bat before jumping back into action.
Batman
Robin
Nightwing
Huntress
Batgirl
Batwoman
ect
ect
That I enjoy.
I also want to see a return of Nightwing, as I enjoyed the Nightwing comic more than Batman. -
While I know the feeling of wishing I had more slots/respecs to make use of those awesome IOs again, but really, I'd rather not see this done.
Part of the reason for this, is the game economy. It'd drop with something that made it even easier.
I mean, why would I purchase Respecs off the market (and be tempted, but haven't ever done so, to purchase a respec from the in game store for 9.99! >_> If it was 1-2 dollars, I might actually do it though), or I wouldn't need to purchase some of the cheaper IOs from the auction house, because I was able to get ALL my unused IOs off one toon, and thusly don't need to purchase them now.
I say this as someone who's had to respec the same toon multiple times to rip all those IOs from one toon to another. -
Truthfully, I don't want to see Statesman die.

Statesman is CoH's Superman! People think it's lame when Superman dies in the comics. People complain when characters die in the comics, why do it with CoH's signature characters?
Now...a revamp of his outfit would be GREAT! Oh, how I hate his mask!
Also, I have to say, while the OP may not have meant it as a "I hate Jack" post, I think it may have come off that way with "replace him with a current dev". -
Quote:I really don't see that big of a difference with Swift/Hurdle. Yes, they add a bit of a bit, but I wouldn't call them so noticable to make a game breaking change to anyone's play experience when it comes to added speed.I don't give damn regarding RP aspects of inherent fitness (or RP aspects of the game altogether). I'm totally for inherent fitness.
But, there can be problem for players who don't have necessary twiching reflexes, playing the game on outdated hardware or any combination of both.
As for myself, all my toons have SS and either swift or hurdle. I'm always playing with SS + sprint on. That combo puts me at or near run speed cap (depending on character). So, as you can see, that inherent fitness isn't going to affect me at all. But potential problem for player with old hardware and/or poor movement control skills should be recognized and addressed IMO.
Swift is not like SB, and while I've seen people ask not to be SBed because of the added +SPD effect, I've never seen someone asked not to be AMed because of the added speed (note: I'm sure someone will now say "I have", but that would be such a tiny bit of the player base, I'm sure they'd adapt). -
Truthfully, when it comes to Energy Aura, I'd only like to see a few changes...
1) Conserve Power to be changed into something like Energize, but with +Resist, instead of a Heal.
I don't think it would be something as powerful as 50% to anything...but I'm sure with testing, it can be figured out what the exact +Resist should be.
2) Softcapped Energy Defense and capped Energy Resist without having to use outside sources (or the new CP I mentioned in #1). It's Energy Aura, Energy damage (imo) should just be really laughable. -
-
I really can't speak for Posi 2, but Posi 1 you get to fight everyone's dopplegangers! I love it for that reason alone!
And I as I always tell my team "I hope my double kills you all!"

Quote:Well, I think that works.i disagree, but i do think they floundered with the character ever since Infinite Crisis, and that it was a big mistake to destroy Bludhaven. Nightwing as police officer was one of the better decisions they'd made with the character. But then came Bludhaven's destruction and then OYL and the series fell apart. I still like the character, i actually like him more than Bruce. (Tim's still my favorite of the Bat crew though, and seeing him wearing a version of the Bat costume was one of the few high points of that idiotic Battle for the Cowl mini)
I like Grayson as Batman, his choice in sidekicks, not so much. But even at first he didn't want to be Batman, it was only in seeing no one else was really suited for the role he stepped up and took up the cowl, and i think most of the writers have done well in showing him become a new Batman. Having Bruce back is only going to end retarding Grayson's character development.
Bruce returns and Grayson states it clearly, "Didn't want it, but if I didn't go for it, someone else would have taken it"
Not sure I care for a Batman Inc. Seems to go against what Batman would do. -
Just don't slot the powers?
Really? When I see this request, I have to ask, do you even read the genre inwhich you play?
Captain America is at the peak human (not superhuman) in the areas of physical fitness, and he's jumping onto Jets.
From an RP stance, one could just as easily quit making super lazy, over weight, wouldn't have the energy to actually get to level 50, but some how do?
Really, it's not bad. Rp them running out of breath, like a lot of RPers already do, yet take fitness, because they don't want to run out of END during a mission? -
I'd have to agree with Leo, I wouldn't call Stalkers durable per se.
Build for Defense, so you don't take the hits. 1600 hit points, just isn't enough to take those hits.
