Quote:Not killing a Fake Nemesis 10 levels lower than my Stalker (9 for sure...I keep forgetting will have to test AGAIN tomorrow), with a BU + AS from hide, just seemed wrong to me, and needs fixed! Then post your numbers showing your Elec/ or Spines/ stalker 'pales in comparison' to a similarly slotted Elec/ or Spines/ Brute/Scrap. Because, to my ears, you're just spouting hyperbole to strengthen your stance.
And if my tone comes off as nasty then too bad. I'm honestly sick and tired of hearing the biased whining and complaining. People are locked into the playstyle of Brute/Scrapper and expect it from every other AT or compensation if they can't. That isn't how balance works and maybe when people learn that, my tone will change.
That said, I think I've figured out a few different ways to fix that issue!
Increase BU to a 100% damage buff. That may just be enough to do it.
Another thought, is to just rework AS's Damage and END cost!
Same recharge as it has now. But Increase it's Damage a bit, and lower it's END cost a bit, because it gets annoying to pay for that attack and then no AS actually goes off.
Right there, a simple tweak, increasing Stalkers ST DPS, while allowing them to more likely take out bigger targets with one hit.
I still don't see the lack of AOE as a factor. Scrappers & Brutes have access to ST heavy sets.
The interrupt reducer in AS would also be nice imo. Even at softcapped defenses, I've had AOE's during AV fights stop me from landing a placate + AS plenty of times. :/ -
I loved how Jesse ended it.
A "screw it, this will only turn out worse if we dont" move.
-
Could think postive on all this, and the death returns Spidey to the Spidey everyone loves.
Or better yet, OMD didn't happen. Instead, we find Spidey divorced from MJ and now with Black Cat
What? I want Peter and Felicia together! -
Hmmm...hard to judge on that bit of a preview imo.
It could go either way. -
CoP style...hmmm...
CoP is one of the few (not always) times I've seen AT bias.
Think it would happen on a Hami, if they were instanced instead of first in? -
I watch the video and miss the days of being able to summon multiple pets.

Quote:They already did!My main's backstory is that he's allergic to magic water and will die if he sips any. I can't wait to see how the devs rearrange the game to accommodate that, but I have faith that they will.
You don't actually drink from the well so far! There are in fact other ways besides drinking from the well. :O -
It'd help to have a bit more detail on the concept.
For example, I have a telekinetic who's powers manifest in an array of neon colors, who is quite nimble. A thief and part time hero, who goes by RaveSpider (uses Sinister top and bottoms), thusly her name is based a bit on her motif.
So the name can be tied to the character on more than just the powers.
My main goes by BrandX, based on her mask (X Eyes). -
Quote:In the end you can always handwave it away. If you want. Do the content to improve your character and have the ability to do the TFs and just say the character really isn't an incarnate.I was thinking about the Incarnate system, and found this idea intriguing.
How does a "normal" with a gun or a sword(replace "sword" with any melee weapon, "gun" is universal as it pertains to firearms)handle growing godlike powers?
A man using barehands and feet, or utilizing any element, I'd understand(for the bare-handed godlikes, see the Dragonball saga), but if you are simply a man(or woman)with a gun or sword(however technologically advanced), how would that work? -
For me, it'll be my main and namesake, which is currently a KIN/WP Stalker. I've enjoyed this combo a lot.
My suggestion would be go with the character you find the most fun for you to play and pick that one.
However, that said, it should be that hard to get yourself into the Uncommon Slot, in the first day, if the drop rates are going to be the same on live as they are on test). -
Quote:Yup. My KIN/WP flew through the Incarnate Arc.I just ran three TFs on beta. Had a stalker along the whole time, he even ended up being the leader on the third one. I was on an Empathy Defender. I picked up 10 incarnate shards in a few hours.
I don't see any problems. And after that I quickly soloed the arc to unlock the alpha slot on my Energy/Energy Stalker. That was pretty quick and easy, and I got a shard out of the deal. So yeah.
Now, what I don't know, is if you can fight any of the EBs as AVs. And even then, if you could...it would likely be tough! -
Quote:I only have 5 of the Purples slotted now. I left off the DAM one's, to keep the powers recharging faster. I know I want to keep the DAM/END, so I can keep the Endurance managed against hard targets. In Weave and Maneuvers, slot 2 Gift of the Ancients and 2 LotG (I use GotA Def/End and Def/End/Rec, LotG Def and Recharge Speed). That increases your Recovery by 4%.
For Purple sets I usually slot 5 of the 6 leaving off the Dam/End (sometimes the Dam/Rchg), do that for Body Blow (leave off Dam/End) and pick up a slot. Do this also for Focused Burst but leave off the Dam/Rchg. For Burst I'd leave off the Dam/Rchg. Drop the extra slot into Build Up with a level 50 Recharge IO.
Also note that slotting Enzymes instead of Cytoskeletons for the extra Defence boost is considered an exploit by the Devs.
Those are my thoughts.
An exploit? Did not know that. -
OK, here's my build so far, setup for i19 (I'll put a Numina Unqiue in Health, Performance Shifter Proc in Stamina, PS: END MOD in stamina, and likely 2 Gen lvl 50 END MOD IOs to fill out Stamina).

The question is, should I be going for those +ACC bonuses in the LotG sets? The +HP is wasted. And the +10% Regen is giving less than 1 HP a second in regeneration.
I'm wondering if I'd be better off going for GotA's set bonuses of 2% Rec and 2.5% Fire Resist. 4% more recovery and Fire Attacks (like from Inferno) doing a bit less damage. Of course, I also don't want to miss.
For the rest of the build I actualy have it all but 1 of the Armageddons and the 2 Enzymes (build is a bit different on Live with 4 LotG in HS).
On live, the build is doing great, but figured I might beable to add in a bit of added Defense Debuff with the Enzymes.
Any thoughts?
This is a PvE build btw. -
Natural is using their basic abilities, with some gadgets.
That said, you could easily have the same power sets using different origins.
Dual Pistols/Traps for instance.
One uses Dual Pistols and Gadgets.
The other uses Dual Pistols and a suit of Power Armor to control those gadgets.
Born a vampire would be natural.
Turned into a vampire could be magic or natural (depending on if you see being turned into a new species as magic or natural)
Magic is never simple. A lot who have magic being inate to their race/species (like fae for example) often go with Magic, even if really all the other faes have the same abilities for their race/species.

Origin would be better if they just let people at least pick two.

Quote:I'd love for some glove boots options that where large kitty paws! That's one thing I've always wanted, even if it comes in the form of cat gloves. We already have monstrous, so cat gloves wouldn't be too much different. Yes, it does depend on demand, but I feel pieces like this one - more specifically, pieces which open up entire new branches of designs - should be given somewhat of a higher priority than "angular tech glove #52."

Quote:Have to disagree here. At least for now.Which makes us an anomaly of the most common denominators of each time line.
If you take the sum total of timelines as the core truth of reality, then ours is the one that's wrong.
Which means other time lines trying to "Fix" us may be justified.

1 out of 3 (or is 4) timelines/dimensions, doesn't make an anomoly.
Unless it gets said specifically, that Statesman is the only one to be good, then it becomes something different. -
Quote:It's why I thought the best idea was to just increase the damage mod to Scrapper levels.I know... all the threads/posts we've made since i18.
Man, I thought something more could be done in i19. I know something "fancy" won't be done (because there is not enough time) but some little things like shortening assassin strike's animation should be pretty easy or increasing team buff radius.
I really think assassin strike takes way too long with that interrupt.
Makes AS hit harder, people won't go thinking they're giving up damage for inviting a stalker a long, ect ect.
I'm guessing it's a PvP reason they don't do that though. For the PvE game it makes since, but it would be a PvP boon as well, with it being one of the few places AS is great.
Not saying AS can't be great in PvE, but it's so situational, I can't classify it as great per se.
And placate + AS doesn't always work when AOEs are flying around. -
Quote:Wait a minute.Honestly, the head model should have been adjusted *years* ago!
Why is there a head *with* ears to which we then add a *second* set of ears from the 'Ears' menu? That's *four* ears!
What I am requesting is the ears on the default head be removed. That way, people can add the ears of their choice and not be *required* to use long hair to hide the second pair of ears. Human ears *are* an option on the 'Ears' menu, after all!
Also, I do not believe that it should be too much of a technical task to make cat paws for the front and hind legs. There are already monster claws and monster legs/feet (which I have had to use in order to approximate AK's paws), but they are *not* the proper features. I don't see it requiring anything more than a reskinning to make them more appropriate.
I understand that there are technical issues with resizing and lowering the Height Slider, but I am sure that I am not the only person who would like their characters to be the right size.
What about all of the people who have insect or butterfly wings?
On the other end of the spectrum, what about also extending the Height Slider upwards to accomodate people whose characters have dragon wings?
I believe that I have shown great flexibility in my request. If an actual cat model is not feasible because of technical and time constraints, then perhaps the Devs will at least stop to consider my compromises.
You can envision, imagine, RP, that your character looks like an actual cat, but the one thing you can't do, is RP that those human ears aren't there?
I really don't see the difference.
Also, you could use pointy ears as cat ears (works for the thundercats you mentioned) instead of the cat ears option, for your cat as well. -
Quote:Sure. Can anyone make a convincing argument why a team should care what your AT is?
they don't like teaming with a perticular AT.
I've seen people say no to Kheldians. I've seen people say no to Stalkers. I've seen people say no to all the Melee ATs except for 1 Tank (MoSTF people).
It happens, and because this is how I the star holder wants it, is a valid arguement.
That said, I just roll with whatever. -
-
Eh, I thought the only problem was Brutes/Scrappers doing more damage myself.
But hey, at least we know no changes are incoming. -
Hmmm...blueside Stalker (Praetoria to Paragon)...my stalker has every Taskforce badge available EXCEPT Master of 5th Column TF (that means I have MoSTF, MoLGTF, and MoITF).
How is it hard to get into TFs now?
I also run them pretty regularly, and I don't always start them, I just join in with my Stalker.
I've even impressed at least one player with KIN/WP, and they rolled their own, and from the last tell, they're loving it.
Getting into the Tin Man or Apex TF will not be difficult either

Quote:I'm curious if she's been spayed as to not increase the amount of unclaimed cats. The character concept was too good to pass up. I made her as small as I could and role-played her as a cat (correcting anyone who tried to make advances toward her, thinking she was a thrice-accursed catgirl).
The emphasis on her being a cat was further reinforced through her backstory and any RPing I did on the CoH roleplaying boards.
Thus, though I have 3 other Level 50's, a Level 46, and a Level 42, Amerikatt remains my favorite character (and the only one who will be receiving the benefits of Incarnatedom)! -
Quote:Nope.I guess I have to ask: why would you make a character who you KNOW for a fact (at the time of creation) was NOT going to look "the way she is supposed to" and that there was no prospect of her looking that way... and no discussion of that happening?
Am I the only one who makes characters within the confines of options we have available NOW so that I can enjoy them NOW and not be permanently miffed that they don't live up to my concept of them?
