Had it with Leachers...

Recently I was on a Hamidon run. A friend of mine who was helping disconnected and another guy got in. That made me mad a little, but it got me fuming when the new guy who I may mention didn't help at all, got a Microfilament...wow. That set me ovet he edge, I am done with people leaching on hamidon raids. So I think the devs need to make them instanced, able to hold up to as many people as the zone could hold, and that it is Task Force style so that anyone who disconnects should be able to join back. Anyone agree with me? Also sorry if someone talked about this already, I don't usually come to this part of the forum.

If it could be as controlled as a CoP team setting is, I'd say "HELL YEAH!"

Getting in because of a DC? I've had it happen before. And the person who DC'ed never came back. But at least the person who popped in HELPED.

The little rectal abcesses who come in and just...stand...there....tick me off to no end.

I understand wanting stuff, but wanting it for no effort? That's what the damn market and price premiums are for!

Usually when that happens, I lead over and enemy and stand next to the guy. Cuz then they start fighting because they know if I die, it's coming for them next.

Still you shouldn't have to that, it should be instanced already, it should be more private.

Why would they care if they die?

Can't they just lay there till it's over?

Cause their dead body takes up space in the Hive...yeah I dunno, it's getting off topic a little, the point is I think Hamidon should be Task Force styled and instanced to eliminate leachers in full.

CoP style...hmmm...

CoP is one of the few (not always) times I've seen AT bias.

Think it would happen on a Hami, if they were instanced instead of first in?

The way that Hami is designed you need all ATs (or at least, functional AT roles) in roughly equal quantities in order to be successful. Because of that, I doubt there would be much in the way of AT bias. The biggest problem I see with CoP instancing would be issues with organization. A vast number of Hami raids that I've seen rely upon walk-in players for a not-insignificant portion of their group make up. Turning Hami into a CoP style trial would exclude pretty much all of those people.

Personally, I'd rather see some kind of zone-instance-tagging that reserves your spot in the zone instance for something like 5 minutes after you've left it so that, even if you die or DC, you'd still have a window of time to get back in before your spot is "lost".

As the leechers, it's hard to think of a solution that isn't easily avoidable that doesn't simultaneously screw over legitimate raiders since it's a public event. Maybe if mitos had some kind of tag they applied to all nearby characters when they are killed that was required to get access to the reward when Hami is finally killed (i.e. you have to have been within a minimum range of at least 1 mito at the time of its death to get the reward). There are ways to get around it and leech a bit, but it would still require that the character put themselves at some risk or help for at least some portion of the raid.

Unless there would be any chance of inviting players as the raid goes by, then the suggestion of making it Instanced would kill any raids on Union server (EU), maybe even for all EU servers.

Then again, unless the team leaders could invite to the instance...

or a new raid system would be generated. (I can see it now)
New Gui: Name: raidleader
Insert amount of teams: X
Teamleader names as follows: (several names inserted here)

Raid leader could be able to custom name the team of the leaders and we could have a flagging system that team leaders look for:
Ranged damage, melee damage, hold power, debuff etc...

New chat channel for team leaders and raidleaders.

...
aaaanyway... I can dream

edit: another thought. They could use a system similar to the Warhammer online public quest rewards.
All those that have spent time in the zone, whom have been active around hamidon, doing damage, healing, stunning, tanking.. etc... could be given points.
Those points would be used for the computer to recognize whom should get the reward.
Only problem is, to get the reward you have to hit Hamidon during the final phase (I think), if you do not then no reward. And it is often during the final phase that some goes DC...
But it sucks that you loose the reward your entitled to after being in the raid, just because you miss out on hitting the big jello.
