    Hey guys!

Welcome Back, Marcian and Angry Citizen!

That's unusual. Normally with systems that do not debit on weekends, they will take the amount on the business day that follows said weekend. At least in my experience.

In terms of NCSoft, I can confirm they do take payment on weekends. My billing date is the 14th. In August, the 14th was a Sunday, and my subscription was debited on that date.

My subscription was also taken out one day early this month:

Interestingly enough, it shows tomorrow's date as the date of payment. I suffered no ill effect, (nor close calls, as in Mr. DJ's case). It's just unusual that it was taken a day early, despite the date showing tomorrow.
  3. Is that Chirpy Boy or Bart Jr.?
  4. I see. Yes, I have had the tab open since 12:30pm. I generally always leave a forums tab open.

I have currently been logged into the forums for 9.5 hours.
  6. I have always had an interest in superheroes. I liked everything about them. I wasn't the most obsessed fan, in fact, I gave up reading them many years ago, but the concept always stuck with me.

As I grew up and aged, in the back of my head, I still wanted to be the superhero.

This game affords me the (virtual) experience of being that. The flexibility it offers allows me to be an anti-hero that can manipulate lightning, or a classic "good guy" who flies and is super strong. I can prevent that bank robbery, or I can rob the bank. I can travel through time and fight Nazis, or I can stop a giant robot destroying the city dead in its tracks.

It gives me a break from my mind-numbing job. It lets me put responsibilities on hold, and just have fun.

    Ouroboros Access

I have been using my base TP to get to the Echo of Galaxy, then hopping on the yellow line back to Ouro for the badge.
  8. I'm conflicted as well.

I already have three Willpower characters (Tank/Scrapper/Brute), and I just hit 50 on an Electric Armour Brute, so I am looking for a change.
  9. I've soloed a few GMs (Jurassik, Kraken, Eochai, Paladin) using a fire/cold corruptor with Warworks pets.

My first attempt was on Jurassik. I was using Tier 3 Warworks (ACU and Victoria). He ran away. A lot. This made it difficult, as he would round corners and have objects obstructing my attacks, so maintaining damage on him was hard.

I just kept using my debuffs as often as they were up, and eventually beat him. I tried again a little later, having upgraded to Tier 4 Warworks, and this time brought some reds, and it was much quicker and less tedious.

I started with Jurassik, since Crey's Folly is largely ignored, so I knew I'd have a good shot of getting him alone, and because he has no debuffs.

The next one was Kraken, who also has no debuffs, and Perez is also not usually occupied.

My only attempt with Jack was going fairly well. I had him to about 1/4 health before he stunned me (I had no Break Frees) and took me out.

The real key, as mentioned is to debuff and keep damage on them. Moving around (more to keep ahead of their running away than as a form of evasion) seems to work.

Hm. I must have been mistaken, then. I thought that if you were exemplared to a level below having access to a power, that its bonuses stopped working.

For instance, if I took Combat Jumping at level 49, threw a LotG +recharge into it, then ran a Sister Psyche, I'd lose that bonus.

Rare Salvage is super cheap nowadays, so craft up any recipes you've been hanging on to drop them into your bins.
I was gearing more toward items that were in a bid/selling/unclaimed status. I only really included "stored" for completeness' sake.

I don't actively store items in the Auction House (though I have nearly filled all of my storage in my base! If only coalitions could utilize each others' storage, sigh), but wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose something in the event of something unforeseen, like if my credit card were lost/stolen or if my wife went on some crazy spending spree... or if I went on some crazy spending spree.
  12. I am thankful that two of my fellow Canucks (one, a fellow Bramptonian, no less!) mentioned October so I didn't have to.
  13. I had a couple of questions about going from VIP to premium and its effects on some aspects. I have searched, but haven't found the answers. Apologies if I somehow missed them.

I understand that you will lose access to IOs. These will be greyed out, and unavailable until reaching the appropriate reward level, or upgrading to VIP status.

How does it work for influence over the reduced cap? As I understand, going to premium has your influence cap lowered from two billion to one. If I had a character that had, say, 1.5 billion, would the remaining 500 million be inaccessible until such a time where I return to VIP status? Or is it gone permanently?

Similarly with items on the auction house. If I had items there (in any capacity - whether it be stored/sold/bidding/what have you) would those be permanently lost in the event I switched to premium? Or again, simply temporarily unavailable?

I would hate to lose anything that I invested any time in be lost if I opted to go premium temporarily, or if for any reason my account lapsed for a day or two.

    Thanks in advance!

Speaking of things that call you softly, my job is now using what they call "Whisper" technology - basically when I'm on the phone with a customer, a soft gentle voice, that is only audible on my end, will occasionally give me instructions as to what to say.

It creeps me the F out.
Sorry to further derail the thread, but is that not very distracting? Thankfully, my work doesn't use anything like that, but I would imagine it would distract me, in addition to creeping me out.

  17. Depending on the popularity of the particular item you used as your niche, the item may recover. It could take a few months, but it might.

Using 45m/day as your benchmark, you could find a niche within pretty much any popular set. Crafting uncommon recipes, like Doctored Wounds, Thunderstrikes, Multi-Strikes and Crushing Impact could earn you that. A cursory look shows me that some of these can be either crafted and resold, or even just flipped for up to a 10m per IO profit. Buy a stack of 10, craft and sell them, and you're doubling your daily benchmark.
  18. Once again, I am sorry I was unable to attend, but it looks like you all had a blast!

Congratulations to all of the winners of the various events. Congratulations on 7 years!

Thank you, Ace and all others who did so much to coordinate this as well as all of the past Tanker Tuesdays.

Thank you, Meowtch for making good on your screenshot promise!

    god help me.....

I'd also suggest fire/cold corruptors. With mine, I was able to solo AVs before putting too heavy an investment, and I am able to solo GMs (albeit with Lore pets) with a heavier investment.

Edit: er, just saw you had a 30 mil budget. While it may be possible with a /cold on 30m, it'd be pretty difficult.
  20. I generally don't have problems finding teams. I don't actively look for them, either. Granted, sub-level 50 teams are less common than 50s.

I tend to leave my comment with "usually lft, pst" or something, and usually I will get a handful of tells. It may be my membership in channels, though, I don't know. Ask Amy, she often sends me tells asking if I'd care to join her, (to which I am often afk when it's sent... sorry and thanks, Amy!)
  21. News/Events/Announcements
    Announcements and discussion.
    - Consolidate this. There's no need for a locked official post, and then a cross-post to an appropriate discussion.
    Calendar
    - leave as-is, I guess. I never use it.
    Player Events
    -As-is.

Remove SG/VG recruitment. I think the individual server forums would be more appropriate.

I had thought about removing Player Events, but having that forum likely eliminates clutter within the server forums and City Life.

    Development:

Remaining as-is would probably be fine.

    Player Help

    - leave most forums as-is
    - Add a single "PVP" forum

    Archetypes and Powers

    - Rename "Archetype Discussion", and keep the AT-specific forums there.
    - Eliminate "Powers and Discussion". This could probably fit in with either "City Life", or "Player Questions"

    For Fun!

    - leave City Life, Suggestions, CaH/VC and Roleplay as-is
    - Combine Multi-Media and Screenshots/Fan Art.
    - A combined "International Lounge". Granted, I know it might sound like I am lumping the Oceanic and European players together unfairly, but we don't have an Asian lounge, South American lounge, African lounge, etc.

    Server forums remain as-is.

I only craft common IOs in order to get the accolade. Generally, the level 20 and below IOs I generate get deleted. The levels 25-50 IOs get listed for 1 inf.

I do not craft commons for resale. There is very little profit in it. I would suspect many others take that same approach.

Keeping my sale habits in mind, if I were to get an account-wide accolade, that would mean that something like 500 crafted IOs, per character, would not be hitting the market and therefore, would not be contributing to the supply aspect.

Because the supply is dwindling, and there will still be demand, it will cause the overall value to increase.
