Give me a minute to run the Crimson Arc, then I'll show up for the raid.

But you can't take a coffee break and come back to room of dead enemies and fully healthy pets.

Quote:Shush! Everyone knows that Serum is the worst Mastermind power ever in the history of Masterminds, so how dare you claim to use it effectively? :P
Effective use for /Traps mastermind
Step 1. Realize your henchmen are as disposable as the Acid Mortar you lay down
Step 2. Realize serum is a completely fail powers for a good chunk of the game
Stepo 3. Letting go -- you'll have trouble with this process, I'm sure
Step 4. Realizing you have Detonator
Step 5. Realizing you have a Commando
Step 6. Realize that the large mob bearing down on you needs a beefy target
Step 7. The sweet release. You're only 1 button press away from turning everyone you've ever hated into tiny chunks, or in this cased bruised and very angry individuals -
Bots/FF
/em sleep
Only downside is your inability to kill things as quickly as other combinations.
EDIT: Welcome to the boards. You're a good man, first post in Mastermind section. I like the cut of his jib. -

So what if the reward table was put to 16, and every bloom gave a guaranteed shard? I dunno how that'd work, but...
-
So, let's say I was going to make a Human/Dwarf PB for a hardcore team and I wanted to be Pseudo Scrapper and pseudo Tank. What would you suggest for powers and slotting? Also, don't factor in IO sets, money IS an issue.
I dunno, just some thoughts on how I could be a very useful, very helpful, very painful human-lobster hybrid. -
Only problem is that Painbringer will not completely counter the crash from Serum.
Now, Imagine if Serum had -A Large AoE Taunt Radius!!!-
I would take it, especially if they lowered the timer to 4mins. -
Hmm...well shards are infinitely more valuable on a large-scale table than threads. Perhaps 22, or even 26? heck, why stop there? Give me 32. Go on, I'll cry tears of joy. Then maybe people will come out of the woodwork and Hamidon will get some extra exercise.

I'm torn. You've no idea how torn I am. No, really, don't try to visualize it. So I come to you, Scrapper forum. You, with your numbers and your expert advice. Oh, the numbers...the numbers!
Okay, I'm done with that. Now on a more serious note: I'm caught on deciding whether to build a DM Scrapper or an Invuln/SS Tank. But before that, I need everything you've got on DM/
And I mean everything, everything except Willpower. It is a silly secondary. -
4 BAFs, 4 uncommons. Coincedence? You decide!

Never thought I'd be the one to actually post about this (and if my search-fu has failed me, then I shall accept 1,000 lashes), but...Hamidon is not worth doing for 4 shards. I'm not a greedy guy, but even I know 4 shards isn't worth the effort and coordination for doing the Hamidon. So, I thought to myself 'Jay, what would be an acceptable reward for Hamidon?' and then I realized anything I said would be completely debunked and laughed at.
But then I said to myself 'Jay, it's only 4 shards. Complain. Now.'
What resulted was my opinion (shocking).
Have Hamidon allow players to take a 16 (or 12) shard reward once a week. Too much? Probably. 12 seems to be more in line with the other Trials and available content. Although I realize this allows for swift early progression, I'd be down for any further suggestions. But then I said to myself 'Jay, don't be modest, complain about 4 and beg for 16. Now.' And so I did.

Agreed, or at least an Incarnate option when selecting the task. Crystal Titan got Well-juice. Sure. Hydra taking Well-O's again? I'd buy that. Everything and everyone (and their mother) seems to be connected to the Well now-a-days.

I will just say this right now (and only because JUST NOW I figured this out after a long break), Mercs do not underperform in small hallways (Praetorian tech maps make me ooze with DoT). I LOVE Mercs. I can't play Bots/Traps after having played Mercs/Traps. It just doesn't feel right.

Does my heart good to see people caring about some of the older well-written lore.
I also don't remember Krazy Mark ever being there, although I was never too attentive to St. Martial. Nerva had my eye 90% of the time that I played CoV. -

Mastermind changes
Mercenary buffs (this includes Mercenaries: reducing recharge times on very long-charging powers, as well as increasing the effectiveness of Serum or tossing it aside)
Aside from that... -
Highly doubt 3 Dark Servants would even last the alpha. Remember that AVs have resistance to debuffs, such as ToHit debuffs.

I don't think I'll be able to do the Twilight's Son TF, but I'll attempt to hit Heroes status before then. -

Quote:That's pretty much the way she goes. Can't avoid death by just being a good player. There are a ton of AVs, GMs, scripted events, and even bosses that can kill players in one hit. Just because they only named Recluse doesn't mean more don't exist. I have a widow with about +40% total HP, who is over soft-capped at all times, and she can still die. Not generally due to me being a blithering idiot who refuses to learn how to play, but because the game just works that way sometimes.
Off the top of my head, the following things can all kill her in one or two shots: Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Statesman, Bobcat, Goliath War Walker, Battle Maiden, Battle Maiden's blue patch, Back Alley Brawler, Citadel, Positron, Hamidon, Weakened Hamidon, Honoree, Romulus, Thorn Tree, rikti Pylons, and basically any AV or turret from the new trials. Heck there are plenty of EBs that can, like Longbow Ballista, and even regular boss Bane Spiders, Cimerorans, and Knives can one-shot her if they crit.
So despite having 50-60% DEF, self heal temps, Smoke Grenade, hide, and Placate, unless my character is at 100% full HP at all times during all this content, there's always a risk of me just dying randomly. There's also nothing I could really do to prepare myself or pay more attention in those situations other than spam greens as fast as possible every time I take any damage of any kind. Or just don't fight and hide behind a rock. I don't believe that a harsher death penalty would serve to teach me anything, other than "death really sucks a lot more than it used to," and maybe "I should play a sturdier AT or perhaps another game." And it certainly wouldn't go very far against lower level, less prepared characters and players. Especially those running around Praetoria.
It would certainly take all the appeal out of Vengeance, and make me hate the character and even the game. She died last night when I was playing the game while cooking, and had no access to a mouse, and couldn't reach a green when a Cim boss hit me. I just rezzed when the coast was clear and kept moving. Had I been severely punished, all I would've learned is "Um, don't play CoH while cooking I guess." Maybe that's the moral you're going for though, I dunno. Personally, I like that I can play CoH while cooking and not get stressed over it. -
Holy...they're actually MAYBE gonna fix it?
