Will the Eden Trial be fixed in time for the WST?

Simple question since it is featured as an upcoming WST.

I hope to Rularuu that the devs finally fix this trial. Almost 4 years into this game and I never once have been able to try it.

It's broken? o.O

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

It's been bugged forever only allowing levels 39-41 be able to start it. Any higher than that and you can't start it.

Devs, can you please finally fix the Eden trial?

Eden Trial is WAI.

Yes, a fix would be nice. This bug is beyond ancient. Anyone that says WAI is being sarcastic.

I'll thank you to not put words in my mouth.

No, I wasn't being sarcastic.

The Eden Trial level limitation is an intended design feature. As such, it is WAI. Now, we can debate whether that's a good or a bad feature, but what it is NOT is a bug.

It broken in two ways:

There is no auto-exemp for the person who starts it.

The goals withing the Trial can be made trivially easy with certain powers, tactics, and/or exploits, thus making it a 15 minute affair... which is why it only give 2 Merits so it can't be farmed.

The Devs collected from players a list of all known short-cuts and exploits several years ago intimating they were looking into a fix. That fix never materialized.

And possibly because it is so broken, that they never fixed the level requirements.

Which is why it is bizarre to see it listed as a WST. They have tacitly admitted it is broken. Thus, it should never have made it to the WST list.

Maybe this was a decision of a newbie in Production who doesn't know its history.

No, it *is* a bug.

All trials and TFs in the game were changed so that someone who has outleveled them can start them through the auto-exemp feature. Eden got overlooked. But, as my post above explains, it has bigger problems than not properly auto-exemplaring.

It's working as designed. The design has a flaw. The flaw wasn't intended. It resulted in disbanding the team when they started the trial. Disbanding a team without warning is not a feature. Now with supersidekicking it doesn't disband the team, which proves that the disbanding wasn't a game feature or they would keep it in the game. The bug currently causes the team to stay together without any assigned mission. This isn't a game feature.

It's a bug from issue 2 or so. I'd like to see it get some eyes on it.

I do not think this is correct. ParagonWiki says it's a bug. Unless you can provide a citation stating otherwise . . . .

The dev team is aware of this concern and as soon as we have an update we'll share it with everyone.

It's a bug from Issue 5. Before then, you had to be in level range for a Task Force in order to be a part of it, not just to start it; and you would be dropped out of it if you became higher level for any reason. Higher level characters could only join a Task Force if they were exemplared into range by another character, and if the lower level "anchor" disconnected for any reason, the exemplared character would be instantly dropped because of going back to their natural level. Issue 5 changed this, and allowed players of any level (above the minimum, of course) to start Task Forces.

The relevant patch note is: "Any character above the maximum level for a Task Force will be automatically exemplared to the maximum level of that Task Force when they join, and will remain exemplared until they leave the Task Force." Eden got the "auto exemplar higher level characters" part of the update, but it never allowed higher level characters to start it.

So technically, yes, it's a design feature -- from way back when the game started, and before the Issue 5 change.

Ok Z. So how about addressing the lag that has made the BAF trial nigh-unplayable in most cases, that was introduced with that patch the other day.

They need to add a map while their fixing the horrible level range bug (WAI or not, it's still a load of utter *******s)
Trying to navigate those tunnels with ******* -every travel power Swarms, high con DE and miles to go is....not fun, shall we say. I have some choice words for the first, last and only Eden trial I ever ran.

Not every travel power... I did some speed runs of Eden back in Issue 9 and Issue 10, and the teams that ran it back then used Team Teleport for it. It was very confusing to be attacking the wall and then WHAM, suddenly ported elsewhere... but it made every run be over in under 10 minutes.

Which is why it awards 2 merits now. Nobody's running it like that anymore, but it has an awful reward so nobody's tempted to do it either.

If you get hit by the Swarms, even that isn't an option anymore. They magically have -Teleport now. One of the only enemies in game capable of doing that, and their a bunch of bugs.....really? *sigh*

They sting the **** out of you. Teleport takes concentration. Yes it's an annoying feature; it's to insure you fight the enemies in that room(and thus get Ambrosia for the final fight).

7 merits, not 2

Eden was a great trial. Lots of fun. Hardly anyone does it anymore, one because of the awful rewards and two because of the stupid level range rule to start it. They fixed the sewer trial, how hard can it be to fix this one too?
