The Hamidon
a prime reason i dont do hami raids is because i feel the only reward worth getting is the 57 reward merits
a single HO (which can be gotten from STF/LRSF) or 4 shards (which you can get 2-3x the amount from a tf like ITF) is just not worth the amount of lag and preparation needed to take on hami
i dont know if 12-16 shards would be an adequate amount, but it would definitely be worth more than it is now
Hmm...well shards are infinitely more valuable on a large-scale table than threads. Perhaps 22, or even 26? heck, why stop there? Give me 32. Go on, I'll cry tears of joy. Then maybe people will come out of the woodwork and Hamidon will get some extra exercise.
Although the end reward is only 4 shards it's not unusual to get 2 shards per round of mitos, if not more. I don't recall having done a hami raid where I haven't walked away with less than 8 shards before the reward. I wouldn't mind the shard reward being upped, but I typically take the merits and run.

So what if the reward table was put to 16, and every bloom gave a guaranteed shard? I dunno how that'd work, but...
I said this long ago...
"4 Shards is a slap in the face"
I can get 4 shards running a tip mission solo in less then 15 minutes. Shards for defeating Hami isn't even a reward. If it were 15-20 shard every 20 hours, then it would be worth it, but at this point in the game I think shards are obsolete now that we have threads. But I know they need to be there for others.

4 shards, with the random drops for more while I feel it's a LITTLE low, isn't.
Plus with the mitos dropping shards at random too.
Most raids, I've acquired no fewer than 6 shards. The most I ever acquired in a single run is 12 (the RNG wanted to have my babies that day).

Also, you MAY get 4 shards in 15 minutes. You MAY get 5. You MAY get 2. You MAY get none.
The 4 shards are GUARANTEED.

was talking in global channel with some other poeple who think the same, and almost everyone ive talked to think:
- shards are obsolete and need to be gotten rid of and replaced entirely with threads
- or have their drop rate increased since they are fairly useless
Well, why not have both a Shard and Thread reward option?
24 shard reward / 24(48?)hr Cooldown
150 thead reward / 24(48?)hr Cooldown
Or am I aiming too low?
The Hamidon shard reward is meant to be equivalent to the single piece of incarnate salvage you get at the end of other select level 50 TFs. It's the "wildcard", where it gives you the shard equivalent of a common salvage piece and lets you make whatever you want (It's even more useful since you also have the option to just save them up instead, too). Of course there is a bit of an unbalance since in said TFs you also have a chance for shard drops from enemy defeats (and since there tends to be a LOT more enemies you can get lots of shards if you kill-all)... but this is somewhat offset by the Mitochondria having a very good chance of dropping shards.
For this reason, I don't really expect the Hamidon's rewards will be looked at, nor think they should be. It's supposed to be comparable to the TF drops, not to the Incarnate Trial drops. Yes, shards are a bit outdated now and not that big of a reward, but that's more of a problem with the ENTIRE shard system, not just the Hamidon raid.
I think the choice of HO/four shards/53 merits is fair compensation.
Although I think that adding 20 threads (the equivalent of a common component) would be very welcome.

For the Hamidon? I'm only talking about the puny shard reward, not the borked Merit reward. If I wanted merits I'd run something else. 4 shards is not worth it. At all. Really.
Never thought I'd be the one to actually post about this (and if my search-fu has failed me, then I shall accept 1,000 lashes), but...Hamidon is not worth doing for 4 shards. I'm not a greedy guy, but even I know 4 shards isn't worth the effort and coordination for doing the Hamidon. So, I thought to myself 'Jay, what would be an acceptable reward for Hamidon?' and then I realized anything I said would be completely debunked and laughed at.
But then I said to myself 'Jay, it's only 4 shards. Complain. Now.'
What resulted was my opinion (shocking).
Have Hamidon allow players to take a 16 (or 12) shard reward once a week. Too much? Probably. 12 seems to be more in line with the other Trials and available content. Although I realize this allows for swift early progression, I'd be down for any further suggestions. But then I said to myself 'Jay, don't be modest, complain about 4 and beg for 16. Now.' And so I did.
