My favorite thing is to tell in Broadcast "All caps poster Captain Capitals is going on my ignore list" I don't actually do it. The posts from rude peeps is some of the funniest stuff in the game. But it does a couple things. 1) lets Cap know he/she is out of bounds 2) prods for a (sometimes juicy) reaction 3) Lets the rest of the community know these kinds of posts get you ignored and/or unloved by the community at large. I can achieve all those while never actually ignoring Cap, so why not...

Be really nice to be able to use the bus as well. Like, If I am North Steel and the mission is South Steel. Wait at the Bus stop, get on, be sent to South Steel Bus Stop. I think capes deserve the chance to ride on public transportation. Lets stage an Atlas Park protest at all Bus Stations!

A response from Z. Nice. All the GREAT points I have brought up, he never said nothing. Knights, you were heard.

My go-to Brute for years was SS/Invul. I have solo'd Redside with it. I currently am soloing Blueside with it (stalled at 34). it works great solo. It works great on teams. It can Tank using just SOs and a little inspiration mgt. It feels powerful, it feels "Brutish". Built right it is completely unstoppable, and has vicious ST and punishing AoE. Granted, it has limitations. To get you one attack AoE up regular requires global recharge. To deal with Rage crash requires Global Recharge. More S/L defense always helps, and End mgt is an area needing love. But I ran a SS/Invul on SOs for a year before I knew crap about builds (I know not much more now, but I steal glances at smart people's builds) and the thing felt very powerful. Enjoy.

Looking like Energy has no changes in i22? Wow, I backed off this thread for many weeks, to come back and....sigh. I am still looking for that perfect replacement for SS. I have been running an Elec/Elec Scrapper. He is very strong, and I am happy with him. But I have this concept in my head, and I do not want to go Super Strength again. I would even take Energy ported over to Scrappers just as it is right now, even though I freaking hate the self damage of the set, and on a Scrapper it will seem even worse. I played Brutes for years, and was quite happy. They are very strong. But I have noticed in iTrials many times Fury works against the Brute. Look at Keyes. You are separated from the AV just long enough regularly to lose all fury. Being a Scrapper allows the 10-15 second face time you get with the AV to really count. Same in Underground Trial. You cannot roll through it at a pace to keep Fury up. I love a Brute for a radio mission room crawl team. They are the best. But the game goes more and more towards 2-3 minute cooldowns then 1 minute fights. TPN anyone? A thousand other examples show that late game play favors the Scrapper mechanic, unless you want to build a Tank primarily, with Scrapper damage sporadically. I am thinking of server transferring a 34 Energy/Will Brute to my new main server and working on them some more. I have never 50'd the build. But my experience with Scrappers is really starting to make me want this set available for Scrappers.

I'll float it. The cash should be better on Villain side. Yeah, I know it would unbalance the cart, but it's why most villains ARE villains. Self Interest for Numero Primo. Give either across the board better earnings or better random drops, or rewards that are higher for completing arcs, etc. Super Villains work for others for 3 reasons (simplifying here)
1) "Working" for someone on Monday to fool them into thinking they are on their side so they can doublecross them Tuesday.
2) Because they have a goal which aligns. "If I work with Superjoe the Maverick to take down Capt Hero Steel Canyon will be wide open for me to loot!"
3) Cash.
Since 1 & 2 are really impossible for the game to deliver lets noodge the Devs towards 3!
(Yes, I know it ain't gonna happen. Just sayin') -
Quote:...Fiery Melee uses a sword, so does Ice Melee...Stone melee uses a Mallet...Street Justice and Martial Arts are both great sets, if the concept is a martial artist. My main Scrapper is Elec Melee, the ST damage is meh... Dark Melee has no AoE...Kin Melee has no crits on its big attacks...Energy Melee damages you with its tier 9....I used Super Strength for four years, it's good, it gets old...Street Justice, Kinetic Melee, Dark Melee, Super Strength, Stone Melee, Martial Arts, Electric Melee, Fiery Melee, Ice Melee or Energy Melee.
Quest ended.
Be nice if the Devs would put out a non weapon set that was well balanced, on a par with weapon sets, and did not infict serious injury on its user that could be used to simulate super powered heroes/villains who do not use weapons. You know, like in the majority of the comics. -
In a never ending quest to find good powersets without weapons....
So, there was a conversation going on in various threads that Energy Melee was being "looked at" for issue 22. Was there ever any actual changes? -
Yeah, most new "co-operative" content is really being heroic despite the fact you are a villain. It is pretty standard comic schtick, so I do not hold it against the Devs. When the world is endangered, all ... blah yaddah blah yaddah blech.
Give me a good old fashioned maniacal villain with a plot to destroy the world and 3 backups if that one gets derailed anyday. But, you will find the villain helps heroes to save the world tucked into almost every genre.
For our game this started with the RWZ. And these days the Devs barely even nod towards villains needing a reason to be heroic. That i do fault them on. If you understand their meta plot it does make sense for 90% of villains to help, if only to save their own hides. But, in fact, we as players are barely getting hints about the Hamidons goals, when we do it is either very quickly said in places like the undergroundtrial, or hunted out on boards. Our characters, especially a pre 50. will not know these things. -
Next they are going to go back through all the iTrials after looking at how leagues standard tactics. "Oh no you don't! You have to let the AV regenerate a bajillion points, and you gotta stand in the pink patches of Doom! STAND THERE NOW!"

Batman has all the signs of high functioning PTSD. He ignores extremely dangerous stuff happening all around him, seemingly deep in thought about tactics/strategy, then mouths some cheesy one liner and charges in like Leroy Jenkins. Yeah, he aint all there.

What makes a Superhero? Great question. "Superman" is the obvious icon. He has special abilities, but it is the "drive" to use them that is what really makes him a superhero. Likewise "The Tick" is a parody of all superheroes, and yet is a great superhero in his own right. Granted, not my first choice for saving the world, but I would accept his help. Especially if superman were busy. Because "The Tick" has "drive" to be "that guy". "Hancock", the reluctant hero, feels that "drive" even though at the beginning of his movie he hated that he felt he needed to do these things. "The Last Action Hero" while being fairly low powered (if you don't count his astounding levels of luck) also obviously was "driven" to be "that guy". I was not going to throw it in, but I might as well. "John McClean" from Die Hard series. He is "That Guy" and all he has is incredible good/bad luck going for him. Oh, and the "drive" to be "that guy".

Running in Firefox at my work. Problem for the last hour or so. Hopefully they fixed it/are fixing it.

/Stone armors on tank/brutes. I got to 38 on a brute, put it on, and almost puked it was so bad. I tried I/Oing it for recharge and whatnot to "fix" it. The worst way to spend an hour in the city is in stone armor. It has the worst armors/defenses pre Granite, and Granite slams on, you lose all your costume, you look like every other granite, and it nerfs you into oblivion. To make it worse, your "indestructibility" is completely useless in the iTrial world of instant death patches which cut thru Granite like you were a Blaster, and your nerfed movement makes it HARDER for you to survive these things. Yeah, Granite. Big white walking turd.

Quote:Your first idea is worthy. If I could run Posi and all other TF commander accolade TFs at 50 and get 50 rewards I would run them a lot more. Yes, make them harder, after all we will be incarnated and mean. (Please no instant death patches and iTrial cheat mechanics). Just dial them up to +3x8 for all runs at 50th level and let us at them.If the 'end game' content ran more like a hard mode version of the standard TFs I would be more interested in it. I can't say I'm a fan of these multi team raids.
It might be nice if we could get some threads and incarnate salvage in a new lvl 50 PvP zone and arena. Perhaps threads for time logged in the zone and salvage for completing certain missions or something along such lines.
Your second idea is hampered by the fact that PvP is almost irretrievably broken in the city and will not be fixed. The last Dev that worked on revising it was killed, the body desecrated, and no one mentions his name anymore upon pain of death. -
Hrm. So if you stick a non-catalyzed version on a build with 5 purple sets it still conflicts even though the bonus is not the same because the name is?

Quote:Yeah, I used to pull him to the magma all the time on my brutes and just beat the fool down in seconds. I tried that on my new main, an elec/elec scrapper with an (almost) embarrassing amount of I/O wealth on him. No luck. He would not stay in the lava, and it was not going right. I finally resorted to killing his Bifurcations (wow, the desire to mispell that was great) and killed him pretty easily. I recommend anybody (especially with a squishy) throw a tell on some channels or grab an SG mate for help with the guy. I was vindicated in my build later in the arc when I solo'd the two AVs (as EBs) and the roomful of Ritki with just a couple inspirations popped.Your assertions are completely wrong and you are seriously harsh. The corner pull and magma tricks were shut down and he runs away from shivans and he is resistant to holds and anyone without sufficient recharge cannot defeat him. Incarnate content at the moment is designed for teams and the devs dropped the need for defeating him to unlock alpha.
You knocked the op and you knocked me, thanks. -
I posted recently here about how I despise the TPN. I thought it only fair to post my enjoyment of the Underground Trial. Well written, interesting mechanics, variation in objectives. It should only be attempted by folks who are actually able to listen to the league leader, but that just shows that no random PUG can bumble through it.
I give it a huge thumbs up. They even included what I would have suggested here, for a trial that long and complicated a guaranteed Rare or Very Rare.
Thank you Devs for getting it right. -
Didn't the last Dev to delve into the PvP area of the game with a "I'll fix it grin" on his face get burned at the stake and his body thrown down a cliff?

I really just want to be able to do content 1-49 and get 50 rewards. I would seriously do it all the time. Well, more. One of the reasons I am so poor after many years of playing is that I spend very little time running any 50s. I alt like mad. It is getting better, since there is more stuff to do at 50 these days. But I was a redside exclusive up until a year or so ago. You hit 50, and its ITF or LGTF or ..... yeah. Since I am always making new characters anyways I just never habitually ran 50s. Now I am starting to devote time each week to a couple 50s, but its new to me. Therefore, purple recipe drops, millions in random recipes, just rarely drop for me, since I'm on Joe the New Blaster playing at level 24 a lot. If I could run my favorite 50s through a ton of content and actually get 50 rewards that would be a good end game for me. Running endless (not endless, repetitive) radio missions, tip missions, half a dozen TFs, and Incarnate grind is like 1-5% of the games content, yet all I can run if I want "real" rewards.
-
You say base recharge, do you actually mean final recharge value? So it fires up to 5 times per minute? Or if you have base recharge of 12 seconds but grind that down to 6 seconds is it still looking at the base and will fire 100%?
Also, will this work in the AoE 16 targets? Ball lightning has a recharge time of 16 seconds, which could easily be brought down to a few seconds. Does that mean I can get 100% chance for extra minor damage on 16 targets every few seconds? -
They wiffle batted this one. It is seriously a no brainer. So much so I thought I was reading a typo. The damage needs to be added to every single power. Thats right, Blasters need to do more damage. A chance for extra minor damage on every attack. Period. (*ducks offstage for a couple hours to avoid the bricks, but yes, I am serious about it)
-
What I am getting at here is other Arch Type ATO Proc seem to be Global effects. The Dom Proc increases damage on ALL your powers. The Scrapper Proc increases Crit % on ALL your powers. The Brute Proc increases Fury that increases damage on ALL your powers. The Blaster Proc gives a minor damage plus to the one power you use it with? I do not understand how that is comparable to the other archtype ATOs.
-
Okay, I have 6 slotted a set of ATO for my current Dom experiment. Minor damage buff, stackable 3 times, I think the buff maxes at around 80% (not sure) for ALL of your damage output. So good I bought a second set for the next Dom I plan. I bought a 6 set for my main, a Scrapper, slightly increased critical chances across the board. Last night I look at the Blaster ATO. Mediocre chance at minor damage for the one attack you put it in? Seriously. The Blaster ATO proc is by far the worst I have seen. Not even as good as a Purple damage proc? Does the description on the Proc not match the effect, is it for all powers? Or is it really that bad?
