    But never the less. I left my 40 non-hidden villains yesterday for 244 non-hidden villains because I felt like some activity (as well as some PvP which just doesnt exist on Triumph no more). I appreciate if you dont have my problems because you play blue side or only at prime hours or only with friends and never ever want to PvP. And maybe other servers will turn out too spammy or laggy or whatever for my tastes, and maybe changes come around and fix everything, who knows. But having more non-hidden villains in RV than non-hidden villains in the 45-50 level range sure made the server switch worth a try.

    I'll keep some characters on Triumph I guess because here's my SGs, but for actually playing my main villain whenever I feel like it... its too empty right now. Sorry.

I'd immediately transfer over, but I only have two decent characters that are both stuck with SGs in leading positions (one red one blue) and I really dont wanna abandon those and/or all the time I put into the base. On Triumph, where one always ends up asking tumbleweeds if they want to team. Red side, Winter Lord Team? We get... five players.

    So angry. I'd switch servers immediately if you could take an SG along. But being forced to abandon an SG or not have fun is... villainy!

    I can only hope that everyone else transfers off that server so the devs HAVE to offer something like that or merge it with another server. So far it looks pretty good for that, last time I checked Virtue had about 5 times the players on that Triumph had.

    edit: BAAAAAAAH! 151 blue side on Freedom even when there is NINETEEN on Triumph only?
    I might switch over after lunch regardless of SG. I want some players dammit.

    Of course, cross server PvP zones as mentioned would be even nicer, as they avoid the mentioned lag of all that ever want to PvP squeezing into a single server.

    Coming to think of it, those two are the hero side zones I like best. The Hollows for their size and unique landscape, and having places deep down there and at the far end where you can really explore and feel alone in, and Kings Row for its rundown poor-side street-hero flair.

    Together (and with Perez) they really make great variety. Maybe that's why I love that level range so much.

    Some of us just dont want this game to die, but see a trend leading there. Its not about the NOW, where some people still find there are enough players for their needs. It's about the near future when those that DO find it got way to empty for their likes leave too. And the more people do that the more empty it gets, until a point where those that dont mind it NOW will find it too empty THEN too.

    in my opinion.

    (in the early US evening, Virtue had over 400 on blue side. THAT is more still like "MASSIVELY Multiplayer Online" Game.)

  8. The topic is a bit old, but it was the only one that came up when I searched for Mako's bite in the topic, and it is relevant so...

    The proc in Mako's bite says it has a 20% chance to fire.
    But when I look in the damage chat, I see the power (Boxing) rolls to hit twice, once with 10% hit chance and once with 95%.
    Yes, 10. Not 20.

    And when the first roll goes between 10% and 20% it does indeed count as a miss.

    Has the Mako's bite proc hit chance been reduced to 10% thus?

    edit: Oh, I just see that hit roll is not for the bonus damage, but probably for the Disorient effect of Boxing, and the roll for the proc is probably invisible then? IS it really 20% then?

    Either way, it's hardly a bad thing. The Hollows Trio are a nice solid run of missions to go through. Maybe make the named enemies bosses rather than LTs though.
    Oh, and Frosty is still the most Hax EB. Hold, lots of AoEs and Fire imps AND Jack Frost? He must have eaten his spinach
    If Julius is still 10-14 (and I do recall very well how I tried to finally ONCE play his arc and stopped gaining XP at 15, recalling that still works for the level range with other contacts, and he gave me the hunting mission and then went outleveled, so it was really 14 and not 15) I'd have to doubt if you even can play your beloved trio these days without turning xp off, so maybe it was raised so you can play it without slowing yourself down like that?
  10. I'm just wondering... what exactly do I have Combat Jumping for now that Ninja Run makes you jump LOTS higher, makes you also much faster, and is generally absolutely awesome?
    Only for yet some more immobilize protection?

    Does Ninja Run take up a power pool selection too?
  11. Well, I am on a lazy and a more active server US side. Lets see how its there, where I'd call times worse than 4 to 5 pm for most of Europe on a holiday afternoon, since there it's 7 am to 11 am and most people still have to work (or didnt get up yet maybe).
    On Triumph, one of the rather empty servers, it looks worse. 35 red side, and 69 blue side.
    But why? A good deal of that is because people dont like empty servers, and moved on to more active ones. Like Virtue, which has currently 132 red side on and 277 blue side. (with the same aspect of people that hide not being included)

    So while you can still top a sleepy US server in its morning, the US folks CAN switch to one that is a lot busier already despite the early hour. So they dont have to be frustrated if they'd like a server with more than 86 players on.

    Wouldnt you like everyone EU side to have that option too?
  12. It was more about the lore, as they probably at least didnt have the Rikti attacks that they built the war walls in Paragon City for. Not about OMG IT DOESNT HAVE WARWALLS THAT MEANS THE ZONE IS ENDLESS LOLZ!!!

    Well perhaps Going Rogue will put some focus on the red side so more people realize villains are not insta-50s that exist only so heroes have something to beat up on that rare occasions they feel like PvP-ing.

    That's a difficult issue indeed.
    On the one side I really dont want any more funky reward bonus systems and special temp powers for stuff which I already lost track of, or new badges for even more stupid things (see playing your first AE mission, clicking your first glowie... I think searching for the Noob badge for logging into the game the first time will lead you to a topic about that).
    On the other hand, switching side is something almost everyone will do otherwise. There always comes a point when you have played through all or most content of one side with your character, so its logical to rather play the sideswitching arc(s) and the other side's content than repeat stuff you already did. Even if you already played the other side's missions, its still more interesting to play the actual switching storyline and see what the other side's missions will be like with this archetype they couldnt be played with before. :/

Also, keep in mind that with the glorious Going Rogue comes a new Praetoria zone / world, with two totally new options to start and play characters in it other than Hero or Villain, that everyone will surely want to try because its all new and shiny. The hero and villain zones will likely be even more empty (than what is left of them in half a year!) then, even if more players are on in total.

  20. Well its some big things too. Mainly things that make other MMOs so greatly annoying to me.

    - You dont have to spend 80% of your time buying new stuff and selling your old at the auction house, because here its not the equipment that is cool but your character, plus everything has fix stats.

    - I dont have to bail out of my game world experience every minute or two because some game mechanic breaks the world, like having to rival other players for a mission glowie in the open, villains that you defeated for good respawning immediately, constantly 'happening' things on the street that never go away because there's always another one who gets the mission after you finish it, or enemies spawning in your face.

    - A decent level of influence that your 'class' has, that makes it have an impact but still allows you tons of possibilities to play your 'class', instead of dictating how you have to become.

    - Superfast traveling being part of your character and not some epic superexpensive stuff that you have to grind an eternity for or pay real life money for. And there is not one that is 'best'.

    I wish they'd stick with more consitency of the world and less quality-of-life stuff that breaks it, like traveling to that time-travel thing in another dimension and back being the fastest way to get to another zone, contacts being of no use anymore, Cellphones working in the ancient past...

    But its still a lot better than stuff you have to deal with on some other MMOs.

    Not via cheese like simultaneous clickies. But perhaps by tasks that simply cannot be accomplished by a single player. Hami, RWZ raids, STF/LRSF all seem to qualify. More of that, less of the Manticore snoozefests that folks do solo for a challenge.
    I totally agree.
    The fix for team content being with some tricks solo-able against obvious intention should not be leaving it broken and not calling it team content any more, but making it really team content.

    I dont mind if AE gives less XP than normal dev content. In fact I think it should, since you can always choose the enemy group and mission type most convenient for your build.

    And I dont mind if customized enemies give less XP.

    But I DO mind when perfectly viable enemies give NO rewards at all because I removed a single power.
    Even when I added more and better powers to make up for it.

    People facing a very reasonable challenge when playing my arc but getting no rewards for my critters is not "fun". Not for the players when they had to use expensive stuff to defeat a boss and get nothing for him, nor for me when people dont play my arc now when it says it contains custom critters.
