Did they change when you get a contact cell hero side?

I don't always pay the most attention to stuff in game.

Ahem.

Anyway, I was playing, well, Jetpack. She's a lvl 39 Blaster (was my solo character about four years back when spouse was out of town for couple of weeks).

Started the Path of Darkness arc with Colleen Nelson. I was shocked when I realized that I had gotten her cell phone after the third (possibly fourth) mission. When did they start having hero contacts hand out cell phones quicker?

It was an undocumented change. I know it was before i16, but not by much. Somewhere in the i13-i15 range, I think.

Don't get too used to it. While many contacts give you their number after just a few missions - sometimes only one! - some of them are still jerks that make you wait forever.

Roderick has it. Including the fact that it's not at all consistent in how long it takes them to give their number.

The best thing is that you now get good cell coverage even in an ancient Roman city. The downside is that all these ancient Romans walk around discussing the latest happenings in Rhode Island. i guess it's just as well they didn't make it into the historical record with any real detail.

Well player convenience always seems to count higher than story or consistency of the game world so I shouldnt be surprised.
Still...

I've always found that they give their cell after you pass the first vertical mark on their contact progress bar. Once you pass that, they generally give their cell, though there are the few jerks who don't.

So, the farther away the first | is from the left side of that bar, the more dry cleaner runs you have to make for that contact before they give you back that note you gave them that says Do you like me? Check one: [ ] Yes [ ] No.

Since no one else has said it yet, I will.

Just be wary of those Roman charges. They are killer.

Just more proof that Cimerora isn't really in the past, but rather an elaborate "theme park" style facade created by Lord Nemesis for some nefarious purpose.

Are you guys talking about a different change from the one back in I6 when contacts gave their cell numbers at the first milestone instead of the second?

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Something else to be aware of - the closer your hero is to the upper end of a contact's range, the faster the bar will fill. Thus, Colleen Nelson's bar will fill faster for a level 39 hero than for a level 35 hero.

Champion 50s (blueside): Marc Bridge, Nicole Bridge, Fred Blaze, Colleen Storms, Sun's Chariot, Moon's Huntress, Point of Pride
Guardian 50s (redside): Connie Mand
AE arc: Spirit Plane Invasion, #29282, @Honbrid

This is something i hadn't noticed. Interesting.
...

As for Cimerora being a theme park created by Recluse (or Nemesis)... far more likely is that it's related to the Dream Doctor if it is some sort of alternate/pocket dimension.
Location of Cimerora portal: Midnighter Club.
Person with ties to creation and/or shaping of pocket dimensions: Dream Doctor.
Member of Midnighter Club with a book there that even references things related to shaping dimensions/reality: Dream Doctor.
