1. I believe Hero 1 wrote most of the older mission arcs, IIRC.

2. You're intended to run, not fight.

You'd hope that after 5 years they'd have figured that out... =P
(Yes, I'm aware that badges haven't been around that long. Regardless... still ought to have.)

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, the Most Recent list is still somewhat new too. It didn't exist a year ago, let alone five. Give him a break.

It's not simply a box. I was referring to the flight data recorder (aka "black box") in planes used to identify what caused the accident.

Edited to add your intended reference.

[/ QUOTE ]

The travel power is the second tier. The first two powers are both first tier.

Note: You still must have two powers from the pool in order to pick the third tier power (Acrobatics, Vengeance, etc.).

7. Earlier today I was reminded of an old PnP Champions character I made a long time ago. He was called the Night Writer and he was a reporter who specialized in super powered reporting. He used a power suit that gave him the flight speed to keep up with heroes and some protection from stray bullets and energy blasts. He never got involved in the fights. He just took pictures and notes and reported on the action.

I got to thinking, Hey! This could be doable in game.

Let's add a NEW Neutral NPC Group called the Superazzi who specialize in crime fight reporting.

This would be a neutral group who would con as friendly to PCs and unfriendly to NPCs and could be programmed as random ambush additions or random ambushes triggered by accepting certain missions.

If triggered as ambush additions, whenever an ambush is spawned these guys would spawn with it. They would go to the heroes or villains along with the regular ambush (the Kronos Titan ambush would make for some epic pics) and stand at a range shooting at both sides with their cameras and stopping to take notes on a clipboard once in a while.

The camera animations could be programmed so that it works like a ranged weapon but doesn't do any damage or have any visual effect, except maybe a flash.

Allow the Superazzi to chase heroes or villains across zones in their power suits and then land just to take a couple of pictures and ask a question or three. Give them armor and defenses so they can avoid damage but don't give them any weapons other than possibly Brawl.

Allow them to be attacked, caught in explosions and put in danger from the other NPCs and allow the heroes or villains to try to keep them from getting themselves killed or let them perish.

Treat these NPCs as normal ambushes. Let them despawn when left unattended like normal ambushes do. Otherwise just let them keep shooting their pictures.

Give them pithy things to say to the heroes or villains during and after the fight like, "Do you have time for an interview?" or, "What do you think of Trina's costume?" and so forth.

This would add an element of interactivity to the game beyond fighting.

This could get players to stop and wait for their ambushes instead of leaving them behind all the time.

Most of all, this would be fun to see and could work within the engine capabilities. SCRA

What do you think?

Enforcer Armor

No, there are no NPCs in the game that wear Enforcer type armor (with the exception of some MA custom enemies). The Enforcer set was introduced shortly after the Vanguard set, which does look similar for some parts but totally different for others.

After 'Going Rogue', I want the next expansion to be 'Super Sims'...

Facetiousness aside, I'd love an 'apartment', and I do wish there was *surprises* and interesting things to randomly happen when just wondering around and exploring. Like have an NPC follow you, paparazzi-like, or save someone from non-combat threats...

But such will require serious engine upgrades

[/ QUOTE ]

Ooooh! That just reminded me of an old PnP Champions character I made a long time ago. He was called the Night Writer and he was a reported who specialized on super powered reporting. He just took pictures and notes and reported on the action.

This could be doable in game. Simply add a new enemy group called, The Superazzi. Give them defenses and everything but only give them a camera as their weapon. They shoot with it, but it doesn't really do anything. Have these enemies appear as ambushes randomly when accepting missions from different sources. Have them chase the heroes across zones and land just to take a couple of pictures. Let them despawn just like regular ambushes that are left unattended. Otherwise just let them keep shooting their pictures.

That would be fun to see and could work within the engine capabilities.

Wait until the Going Rogue Expansion comes out. Then you should be able to get that hat from the KHTF.

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course you'd have to switch sides to do it, and there's no word yet on whether you will be able to switch back or not.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's in the Going Rogue FAQ. You CAN switch back and forth. Although I doubt it will be easy.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ah, kool. The badge [self censored] will be happy to hear that, assuming you can collect the other side's badges. That's not in the FAQ.

11. Out of all of my Brutes (I play quite a few of them) my favorite has got to be my DM/WP. Dark Melee has that up close and personal feeling in combat. It's speedy and very effective against most enemies, and Siphon Life is a great power to make up for Willpower's lack of a self heal.

Teamed with a Corruptor, especially a /Rad, I would call that a juggernaut. YMMV

Bunny summoning is funny ......... But animal summoning would be awesome! Even if its the only different mm on heroes side. and what was the face palm for? If heroes had different mms that would be awesome!

animal summoning
coral summoning
police summoning

something .......... just being able to pic mm powers on heroes side is lame and uncreative.

one

[/ QUOTE ]

You still don't get it.

Going Rogue is not going to allow heroes to pick MM sets. It's going to allow villain MMs to switch sides and become heroes. That's whole idea behind Going Rogue, switching sides.

And we still need quadrupedal skeletons created before we can even start thinking about an animal summoning set of any kind.

14. Remember, if you plan on running with a team a lot you don't have to pick up every single power in your primary either. Shorten your attack chain and use those extra power picks to take Leadership, which will help your team more anyway. Then you won't feel like you have powers that are going unused.

I don't see any change to Assault Rifle being necessary. Sure, Buckshot doesn't do exactly what real buckshot would do, but remember these are just names. Haymaker isn't really anything like a real haymaker either. It's just a designation for a power that can really be defined as anything that you "the player" want.

That is hilarious. LOL

16. I run the game on a computer with absolutely no virus protection and I've never had a problem. Viruses don't generally come from well maintained games that charge monthly fees and have regular patches. They come from games that are open source that aren't maintained and are frequented by people who like to cheat and hack the game. They come from devious emails and malicious websites that ask you download their own private never heard of it before software just to view their sites.

In short, this game is safe. Unless the devs personally add in a virus it's simply not going to happen.

Vigilante Theme

I've run a vigilante or two. Another rule you might want to follow, Vigilantes don't work with goody two shoes, so avoid doing any TFs for the signature heroes.

Note: Though you can avoid getting contacts that are introduced in the normal fashion, you cannot avoid getting the auto invites upon zoning into certain areas or gaining the appropriate security level.

Such contacts include Admissions Officer Lenk, Montague Castanella, Mercedes Sheldon, Percy Winkley, Senator Decimus Aquila, Daedalus, Levantera and the Architect Studio Manager.

Edit: Also, remember that you can introduce yourself to certain contacts just by clicking on them and be stuck with them on your contact list. So, avoid clicking on David Wincott, Jim Temblor, Stephanie Peebles and Gordon Bower.

I personally think its a complete waste of time. I mean come on, don't want to reroll your 50 to make him a her? What else are you gonna do in this game? This game is all about rerolling and making another alt or 12.

[/ QUOTE ]

In my 5+ years of playing this game I have never rerolled a character that was beyond level 30. Of course I roll alts, but never with the same concept in mind. Why do you think I have 150 alts across all eleven servers?

Concept is my main argument for model changing.

I want to play a shape shifter who can look like anyone at any time. I can't do this since I can't change models.

I want to play a werewolf that actually looks transformed. The best I can do is slap some new textures on the same male model and tweak some of the slider settings.

I want to be able to change a character whose concept was altered without having to reroll and start from scratch.

20. [ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
That was my suspicion as well. I noticed that most regular COX missions also bear a villain or hero tag.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure what you mean by most. I've leveled a new villain from 7 to 30 in the last couple weeks and noticed that most missions had no tag at all. Contact missions, not paper ones. Maybe only story arcs and certain missions have the Villain tag?

[/ QUOTE ]

Only Story Arcs and Badge missions are so tagged. If you look at your missions list when you are on an arc you will see either Villain or Hero pasted across it. 90% of the missions contacts on villainside give out are part of an arc. All of those arc missions are tagged as Villain.

I would assume that you haven't actually used very many contacts if you haven't seen a majority of tagged arc missions. Or maybe you simply aren't looking in the right place?

By level 30 on villainside I will have done 23-24 arcs on most of my villains, more if I actually unlock and do some of the unlockable content.

I'm guessing you've done maybe 4-5 arcs with your new villain, skipping a majority of additional contacts by doing Paper and Mayhem missions and outleveling them. You may not realize you're missing them, but you are.

21. Talk to Unai Kemen. Do his missions until you get to one with Demons in it. Do the mission but do not complete it. Select another mission to force reset on your demon mission. Do the mission again. Repeat.

EI EI Oh!

22. <QR>

Speculations abound. Okay.

As this is a true expansion I expect it will have several new zones (the Praetorian versions of several Paragon City and Rogue Isles zones). These zones will be co-op zones and would allow heroes to do villainous missions and villains to do heroic missions. These missions will determine which way your alignment slides. Are you becoming a darksider or are you turning to the light?

I expect we will see Praetorian version of our beloved Signature Heroes. I expect there will be several TFs included. I expect there will be new advances in the areas of water travel and zone textures. I believe the Praetorian dimension will start to fold into our own taking over zones like Boomtown and Dark Astoria and turning them into co-op or cohabitation zones.

I can't wait to see how much of this is right.

23. But then a Task Force or Strike Force wouldn't be a Task Force or Strike Force. The whole meaning of those terms is out the window if they are all soloable.

If you want to read the story and whatnot then take the star and lead the TF/SF yourself. You can experience the TF/SF without being solo.

Also, many TF/SFs are soloable as is. You just need help getting them started is all.

Note: I am not against this suggestion. I am just pointing out reasons why they may not ever make this change.

24. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, players should not be able to change their gender on a whim.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, they should. See above for concept reasons.

25. [ QUOTE ]
Really the question is not IF can be done but WHY would someone want it done?

Personally I have no desire to change my orientation and can not believe anyone would. Sure maybe for RP reasons but umm why. I do not see this ever being done; now more body slider addition I want but this no.

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe I play a shapeshifter who can take any humanoid form?

Maybe I play a werewolf character and want the human form to be a regular model and the wolf form to be the huge model?

Maybe I had ideas for a character when I initially created it that changed over time and though I would rather the character be female now I stick with male because I don't want to reroll my level 50 villain/hero and go through all that leveling again?

There are many reasons to want to change a model besides changing sexual orientation. This is more about concept than being transgender.
