    SG Logo

No, there is no way for the SG leader to set it to not appear on a member costume. Only the members can change their SG costume settings.

I have macros for my SG leaders to let new members know how to change this. They go something like this...

/macro SGC "say You don't have to wear SG colors or symbols if you don't want to but we would appreciate you playing in SG mode. To change your settings click on Super above your chat window, then click Settings and Continue to get to the costume screen. You can set your colors to your own there and at the bottom of the costume selections you can also check Hide SG Emblem. Welcome to the SG! Get out there and kick some.$$emote lecture"

  2. Well, I don't know for sure because I've never used it for this myself, but I would guess Tazer (the Tech Origin inherent) as it's the only one that has an energy based damage effect.

It will boost the recharge rate by 70%.

Since the recharge rate is 0.0s and since hasten reduces recharge time by 70%, the total recharge time will be down to 0.0s.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!11!!eleventyone!!
your math is off, you would be at -0.70 recharge time
i don't know how that works in our linear time game, but it's gotta be some benefit

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay, since you think you're so good at math...

    What is 70% of 0?

    That's right, it's 0.

0.0s is as low as it goes for recharge. It is simply not possible for a power to recharge before it is even used.

And faux travel powers do not count as Travel Powers. So, Siphon Speed and Inertial Reduction are right out.

Still haven't read the story for the RWZ arcs or the LGTF, have you?

When you click something a loading cursor comes up and it's just the default windows loading cursor not something from City of Heroes.

Also this was meant to be a joke.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Um, jokes are usually funny.

A joke is a short story or ironic depiction of a situation communicated with the intent of being humorous. These jokes will normally have a punchline that will end the sentence to make it humorous. A joke can also be a single phrase or statement that employs sarcasm. The word joke can also be used as a slang term for a person or thing which is not taken seriously by others in general. A practical joke or prank differs from a spoken one in that the major component of the humour is physical rather than verbal (for example placing salt in the sugar bowl).

Jokes are typically for the entertainment of friends and onlookers. The desired response is generally laughter; when this does not happen the joke is said to have "fallen flat".

So, I guess this "joke" has fallen flat.

  6. [ QUOTE ]
Dang, didn't know it had a zero-second recharge. I thought it was at least a second or so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope. All travel powers are 0.0s recharge.

  7. [ QUOTE ]
Finally, if it's only numbers that will woo people to a game; you're going to be stuck playing an Elf somewhere else, and I don't know about you but I aint no frickin' Elf!

Heroes to Paragon, Villains to the Isles; Lemmings (Elfs) everywhere else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey! I resent that remark. I play several elves in City of X, thank you.

That's one of the beauties of this game, you can be anything.

  8. [ QUOTE ]
Well, it'll make it recharge faster if you toggle it off. But that's about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is really no help since it recharges instantly anyway.

  9. [ QUOTE ]
hmmm maybe they shouldn't advertise us getting pieces we can't get

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty close to what I said when they introduced the set. Of course, I said it more eloquently and with better grammar.

  10. Yeah, players don't get that helmet. We also don't get the modified Gladiator Shoulders or the Imperius Cape Mantle shown in that picture, though I sure wish we did.

BTW, a link to an image works like this.

    Hazard Zones?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Those were originally designed as Street Sweeping zones with the occasional mission or two placed in them. Ever since the change to debt (50% debt inside missions) the majority of people no longer Street Sweep so, for the most part the zones go unused.

I think it's about time to even the levels of debt between exterior and interior defeats.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Still wouldn't help too much. Mission completion bonuses, combined with merits for story arcs, would probably still have people doing more missions than street sweeping.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True, but it would be a step toward not making people feel punished for Street Sweeping as opposed to missions, especially when there are so many hunt missions on heroside that most players tend to simply drop nowadays.

When's the last time you actually got a team together to take out some Clockwork in Boomtown for the Security Chief?

    I'm thinking around issue 2.

Don't forget the double infl/infamy bonus when XP is turned off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This was one of my questions.

    Is this true?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. Unless things have changed in the last few weeks, you actually earn less inf/defeat than you do in normal mode.**

**Not an official announcement, just my experience.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, no. You earn exactly the same amount of influence/infamy and prestige.

  14. I also play on a Vista machine. I've never had any issues except for slight graphic errors that were eventually fixed.

Just because the OS name isn't on the label doesn't mean you can't play the game. When a game lists an OS for playing the game it is usually understood that the requirements are for that OS or better, not just that OS.

CoX works fine on Vista machines. Trust me. I've been playing on one for at least 2 years now.

  15. I never felt that way in the first place.

The sheer number of prestige mules you have does not impress me. Leadership, scheduled teams and events, friendly, helpful SG mates who are online regularly and build teams with other SG mates in mind. Those are the things that draw me to a SG, not prestige count.

    Costume creator?

Also, there would bound to be players that would create nipples and skin tones for costumes and we would have a bunch of naked women running around again. This is a Teen rated game. We can't just allow any puberty stricken moron to make whatever costume they want.

And remember if the devs have to review everything that goes through this system before it goes in the game, when are they going to have time to develop the game? They would have to hire all new staff just for this system.

And then of course players would complain that it takes too long for their costumes to be approved. A player doesn't want to sit down and create a costume and then wait in a queue for their costume to be approved. They want to play the game immediately.

While it's a nice idea, it's simply not feasible nor cost effective.

Scott Calvin... was on the drawing board to be returned

[/ QUOTE ]Eh? The storyline of the Calvin Scott TF was that Mr. Scott believed Sister Psyche's presence in Aurora Borealis' mind (His wife) was harmful, so he recruited heroes to separate them. SP and AB were sparated in I4.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, that's why it would have to be in Ouroboros, because you're going back in time to experience something that has already happened.

[/ QUOTE ]I realize the suggestion is to put it in Ouroboros, and I've got no problem with that. But where'd he get the idea that Calvin was supposed to be coming back at any point? Did he think Sister Psycho was gonna mind-ride Aurora again for absolutely no reason?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think he was bringing up what Positron said some time ago about wanting to have the Scott Calvin TF be brought back in game via Ouroboros.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Precisely.

  19. [ QUOTE ]
As far as I'm concerned, anything that does Hold or Immobilize should automatically *ground* something that's in the air, not be unable to hit it at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I agree wholeheartedly.

Please please please devs. I'm sick of waiting and waiting and waiting to use my primary powers.

  20. [ QUOTE ]
    <QR>

I've done it to avoid out-levelling Marshall Brass before I got to his second story arc. Yes, I've dropped Oro Portals at the BM for other people if they ask, but personally I like to earn the power and Echo Down The Aeons is the only pre-40 redside mission that gives it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And it's one of the koolest story arcs in the game.

    quick question

Also, you can't get all of the contacts in the first tier (lv1-5) on a single character. So you need at least 7 characters (1 of each origin + PB + WS) to experience ever mission in the game

    [/ QUOTE ]

You already get access to every story arc with the 5 contacts per level range max solo. The alternate contacts you are referring to have the same arcs and missions as their associates.

Examples: Hugo Redding, Haley Philips and Dr. Trevor Seaborn all give the Fortune Teller mission for the Spelunker badge just as Athena Currie, Carla Brunelli and Everett Daniels all give the Clockwork Captive story arc.

[/ QUOTE ]That's... not what I said. You can only have one origin contact in the level 1-5 range. In all other ranges, you can get all 5 origins. Also, since the lv1-5 contacts don't have actual arcs, you can't get them in Ouroboros.

And you can't forget the Kheldian contacts, either. They have the same arcs in upper levels, but are different at the beginning.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, that is true. But other than beginning levels and Kheldian arcs, everything is available to everyone. Thanks for the clarification.

(The most powerful teams in the game are either all-defender or all-controller. They're also a LOT more powerful than the game actually requires.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not quite accurate. A team of all Corruptors is much more powerful than either of those and they kill faster to boot.

    Welcome to the game, Ammune!

    quick question

    [ QUOTE ]
okay I just dinged level 5...antonio gives me linda summer...now my question is does she direct me to the rest of the contacts or does antonio

(this is my first new toon in ahiwle so that's why i don't remember :P )

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do one mission for Linda and she will introduce you to your next second tier contact. Do one mission him/her and he/she will introduce you to another. You can keep doing this until you have the max of 5 contacts in your level range. These in turn will introduce you to your third tier contacts, who will introduce you to your fourth tier contacts, and so on.

You can also get intros via the Detective but just doing the single mission for each second tier contact is faster.

Now completing these contacts and completing the story contacts for the Hollows, Faultline, Striga and Croatoa will definitely require turning off XP at some point.

It definitely is possible to do all of the contacts available to you now, but since there are two or three different possibilities for each Origin in most level ranges it is not possible to literally have every contact on heroside.
