Orgin Power vs Oil Slick
Well, I don't know for sure because I've never used it for this myself, but I would guess Tazer (the Tech Origin inherent) as it's the only one that has an energy based damage effect.
The origin powers are
Throwing knives - Natural
Apprentice charm - Magic
Taser dart - Technology
Mutagen - Mutant
Traq dart - Science
I've never heard of any of these lighting an oil slick, but the only one I would imagine could is the taser dart?
ETA: Taser dart and apprentice charm both do minor energy damage, and Oil Slick Arrow says that ANY amount of fire or engery damage will ignite it, so it looks like either of those might work.

from what i know, it has to be a fire based attack to light oil slick on fire.

More specifically, it's anything that does fire or energy damage (which is what electrical attacks do). Which means that even things like radiation attacks will light one up.
I was fairly fcertain I read somewhere that ones does. My guess bet would have been tech orgin.
Magic (Apprentice Charm) and Technology (Taser) origins light the Oil Slick.

Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?
I don't have the oil slick on any of my characters, but I've used taser and apprentice charm to light other people's before. They work just fine.
I have a TA/A defender and I use Magic's Apprentice Charm as my igniter. I respec'd out of Blazing Arrow because it just wasn't for me.

I assume the OP was asking so they could make sure they have a quick power to ignite it regardless what other sets they may pick... simply by selecting the right origin temp power.
If we wanted to list every power that can set it off.. we'd be here for a long time. lol

Oil Slick can be lit by either fire or energy damage
Throwing Knives - Lethal - Does not light
Tranq Dart - Lethal/Toxic - Does not light
Mutagen - Toxic - Does not light
Apprentice Charm - Energy - Does light
Taser Dart - Energy - Does light
My Level 40 TA/A uses taser dart all the time to light it(it's alot faster than blazing arrow)
Note: There is an elusive bug that causes Oil Slick to fail to ignite even with fire/energy damage.

Mateo was on-topic and you were not. Feel free to respond with another hissy fit though.

Wasn't a hissy fit or over reaction. I just don't like being singled out, especially when I was on topic with other threads in the discussion.

[/ QUOTE ] I wasn't singling you out, and it's nothing personal whatsoever.. but since you don't seem to understand my actions.. here is my explanation:
All the posts you just quoted were explaining how the oil slick worked, and what damage types affected it. It was after this point that conclusions were posted regarding the types of damage the Origin powers use, and the OP's actual question was answered.
I felt your post was an unnecessary afterthought because the question had already been fully answered (especially including "anything that does fire or energy damage" that you even quoted yourself). The fact that rad powers were casually appended as an example of the above quote, does not necessarily make your sonic post on-topic.
You QR'd without QR'ing, and we didn't know what you were specifically replying to. That's why I felt the need to clarify. Sorry if you thought I was singling you out or trying to insult you. That was not the case.
