So the most predictable story ever is an achievement in the film industry? Yeah, I dont think so.
  2. THis is a cool idea, but you dont need ALL Kinetics, you'll all be capped on the buff values at some point (it only takes 1 or 2 Fulcrum Shifts to cap damage bonuses and there will be 2+ per group). Maybe like 3 or 4, and a /Rad or 2, and maybe a /Dark for the added DeBuffs. An all corruptor team is a fantastic idea, but all Kinetics is an odd one. All Radiation is a different story because all of the DeBuff toggles stack, and especially with AVs with such high DeBuff Resistance, you can cut through their defenses like a truck hrough warm butter.

you had drain psyche recharged and unused for most of the match.
secondly, you should have been spamming crush more than anything else. that's how you were supposed to play doms with immobs back in i12. people would get immob'd, panic, hit bf's and that's how you ran them out faster.

that was just a really bad duel.
Way to turn a good hearted thread into something negative.
  4. I could possibly get into this, I've been hoping to recreate my Melee focused Gangrel from the game. However, I too feel that a SG/VG like this will follow the same formula as the others do. :/
  5. It's too late now. This disease has spread too far, there's no going back now.

Look, I hate to do exactly what most of the people in this thread already did, but the first few levels are there to define your character early on. Everyone. EVERYONE is forced to take powers based on thier ATs for a reason, otherwise there would be no point to even have the Archetype distinction.

  8. I would say Gravity Control/Energy Dominator and swap him to blue or going rogue. Though, Energy/Energy blaster, Grav/Bubbles Troller and Forcefield/Energy Defender could work too.

Thanks for the input guys! I believe I'll be able to settle on a decision now.
  11. Theme-wise, this character coud easily fit as any of the melee ATs, my only problem is, which would be a better choice? A stalker for the stealth and slight defense buff (I'm slotting the build primarily or Smash/Lethal defense), a Brute for pure power, or a tank for increased survivabilty? The combo was selected specifically for stacking stuns (Energy Melee + Oppressive Gloom), and with that in mind, which AT do you suggest?

EDIT: Found that I can get more Defense out of a Stalker, more overall DPS as a Brute (thanks to Fury and the damage aura/whirling Hands) and more Resistance and HP out of a Tank, with less defense than a stalker, but more than the brute version. I'm not sure which would make for a better Decision still. :/
  12. The thing you really need to aim for with Invlnerability is Smash/Lethal Defense. THis build is a little odd, considering maneuvers, but it gets softcapped defense to smash/lethal at least.

    ^This

I Kept the melee attacks based solely on concept (I realize they're not fantastic, but they look cool, arent /that/ bad, and fit my character) and only kept Longfang, Suppression and Venom Grenade out of teh range attack options and skipped pets. My Crab is a bit of a special case just because I spent so much on his build, but fighting is definately great thing to have. Venom Grenade + Suppression + Heavy Burst will make you happy with AoE dps.

    New Archetypes?

Melee/Buff was a thing I was toying with at one point. I wrote out a whole explaination too, here, take a look.

    Quote:

Guardian (Support/Melee): This would require powerset tweaking, but is doable. The Support Primaries would be similar to the Defender Primaries, except with some of the powers swapped out for mitigation powers (with the stalker numbers), reordered for leveling issues, and using the Corruptor support numbers. As an Example: Kinetic Aura/Energy Melee Guardian.

    Kinetic Aura

    Transfusion
    Siphon Power
    Kinetic Shield
    Siphon Speed
    Power Shield
    Speed Boost
    Inertial Reduction
    Entropy Shield
    Transference

This removes repel, which is useless for a melee character, and removes Fulcrum shift, which would be overpowered for a melee character. There is obviously a chance to softcap defense here, but it has none of the utility that energy aura generally has. With a tweaking of numbers it could be possible to make the max defense with set bonuses to be 38ish Percent, which would give it enough survivability to survive without drawing too much aggro. The secondary set would have the same numbers as tanker energy melee, and wouldn't have the auto taunt, so the DPS would be similar to Defender DPS, except in Melee. Transfusion and Transference may be a little too good for a melee type, considering the nature of the powers, but a reduce in heal numbers and Endurance gain would balance it out a bit. This would make for a solid Solo and Teaming character without breaking mny bounds. Epic sets would include Godmodes, Power Boost, Ranged attacks and self-rezzes, while avoiding any mezzes like holds and confuses as well as ranged AoEs, not including narrow cones. Example: Physics Mastery.

    Crush
Power Blast (with slightly reduced range)
Power Boost (Not Power Build Up, considering build up is in most of the secondaries, and siphon power)
Energy Torrent (With reduced KB Magnitude, reducing it to KD on even or higher level mobs, only knocking mobs back that are low level)
    Overload (With a lowered duration)

This would maintain the mostly single target nature of the melee class, while helping to balance out the character.

Inherent Power: Valience, the more times you hit an enemy (like fury, but only when you attack) your valience bar fills up. Once your Valience bar is at 90-100% (like a dominator), you can click your Valience power to increase the effectiveness of your support powers (From corruptor values to defender values) for 1 minute. 1.5 times more recharge then domination to avoid making it permanent.
It's a really rough concept, but I think it's a possibilty. I even wrote out versions of the various buff sets for use in this formula. :P
