    You'd think that wouldn't you. :P

I tried combining the 2 in the beta and let me tell you, that is just too many clickies. There wasnt time to FS, I was too busy trying to kill things and heal myself. With so many buttons to push I just couldnt settle ona constant rotation, got really frustrated and just deleted the character. My Kin/Psy defender is similar in that it's coated in clickies, but at least as a defender I have less motivation to attack when I could be buffing/debuffing/controlling the fight.

You don't? What game have YOU been playing? Having half your team be Defenders/Controllers/Corruptors turns a 'balanced team dynamic' into a clusterf*** steamroll that removes all skill from the game and makes it nothing more than a festival for facerolling. With A few defenders on the team, your team can reach softcapped defense (no matter how much Inf the tank had to waste getting there on his own, at which point he will realize that spending it all was a waste when he could have a FF or Cold defender), the enemies damage can be floored, your team can get to their Max damage bonus, your team can never run out of endurance, mobs can't fight back, bosses hit like squeaky toys, MUST I continue?

To be frank, you really don't seem to be taking this into perspective. Increasing defender damage will make it completely pointless to play any other class, period. If I could do Tanker level damage on my Kin/Psy, then my damage would be exponentially larger due to my higher base damage (granted I don't notice the lacking damage on my Kin/Psy thanks to my primary, oh haha we're back on that topic, but that discussion is for another time). Bonus HP would just make it easier for Defenders to Solo AVs and entire TFs just because they would survive longer (they already don't die, keeping them at a lower HP gives them a chance of dying in a mission, albeit slim).

Or are we talking about AVs and GMs? Once again I ask, why is it alright for defenders to increase blaster and brute and tanker damage 2x~4x, but it would be way over the top if defenders had the lowest damage in the game (tied with tankers) instead of the lowest damage in the game.

What divide am I attempting to magnify? If your intentions are to keep defender damage as low as possible simply because you feel they would become some type of Optimal/Preferred AT with a 0.8 damage mod, then yes, I demean those intentions. Since I believe you are wrong, it would be hypocritical of me to be supportive of your viewpoint. I do not intend to offend or demean you, just your beliefs in this matter.
Why is it OK to increase DPSer damage? Because it's their ONLY JOB. Defenders control half the fight on their own. If you havent noticed, the strength of buffs you cast on your allies are VERY strong, as are the debuffs you can apply. The ONLY way to balance that is to increase damage of the classes that are actually supposed to deal damage. Blasters for instance can ONLY deal damage, they have no other option. Tankers are an exception, but not by much, their damage wouldn't get buffed again considering threat is a complete myth in this game and aggro is just based on how fast you can spam taunt. Brutes get their damage buffed because with an empty fury bar, they deal approx tanker damage (slightly more I think) and it isn't until they've been in a fight for a while that they can really start hurting people. Ever see a brute throw himself into the next group like an idiot? Fury bar. Their entire level of performance is based on throwing themselves in harms way and acting stupid, and without a damage buff they wouldn't kill things fast enough to survive the impending onslaught.

Defenders can just floor everything and change the tide of battle with the push of a button.

    Defenders don't need a buff.

My TanCrab Scuttles around with Ninja Run + Swift + Hurdle + Sprint. My Katana scrap is essentially following the same formula, except with quickness and 4 x +7.5% run speed procs slotted in his auto powers.

So no, skill isn't required because people who have it no longer exist.
Skill in MMOs is a myth.

I'd love to do this, but I'd need to rework the builds on a character in order to do it, I'll hop in the channel at some point once I have a character I consider 'PvP ready'.
  5. Hey, I got my account back up, thanks to a friend, but for a price he wants me to do a group with him that meets at almost the same time, so I'm going to have to back out, I'm real sorry guys.

That looks suspiciously like the old Ar/Dev blaster you had, Shocklance... :P
  16. If it's ok with you guys, I'd prefer not to reroll captain mask, but I have no problems whatsoever having him brought down to your level until you guys reach 30ish (at which point he'd be gaining xp normally). If this is an issue then I may be persuaded to roll something else in the meantime, but again, I'd rather just use the SSK system to use Mask either way.

EDIT: And Starflier you know you cant resist the allure of a new static team with a definitive theme...
  17. I tank on my crab and it's amazing. Really there's no wrong way to do it, I personally avoided the pets and Frag Grenade (to avoid the knockback) and stayed away from the Rifle powers to cut down on Redraw. Tough and Weave help, as does the +3% def to all IO from Steadfast Protection. You need at least 2 KB IOs, and 3 if you really plan on Tanking. For tanking, provoke helps just so you ahve some form of aggro management beyond Suppression and Venom Grenade (Which are VITAL). Slice is good if you want to stay melee, channelgun for numbers I suppose (I took slice). Arm Lash is a decent melee AoE, and Frenzy isnt bad either. The only bad part about Frenzy is it's OUTRAGEOUS END Cost, but if you can get enough recovery than your golden. 3.16% Recovery is enough to keep all of your toggles up (I have Fortification, Tough, Weave, all 3 SoA Tactical Training group toggles, and the pool power Maneuvers. You can skip TT: Assault if you really want to, but the more team buffs the better I say, and your damage output is a HUGE asset to aggro holding. Aim for softcapping your positional defense, with recovery and +hp as a backup set focus. Another build option is to get Serum permanent so you hang at around 2000 hp, which is nice, but I find using it as a self heal when I need it is MUCH nicer. And you'd THINK Omega Maneuver would help, but it doesn't, the aggro leaves you and goes to the bomb, and then you cant use it for 3 more groups.

A note on patrons, I didn't have room for them, but I did get to test out most of them ont he test server on my crab and all they did was kill my endurance even faster. Sould for Gloom is probably the best Idea, but Darkest night did nothing but WRECK my Endurance.

Ok, long post is long I think. But I think I covered everything. If you find there isn't room for a travel power in your build, accept it, I didnt take one and living with Swift/Hurdle/Sprint/Ninja Run is more than enough.

I'll post the build I'm using if you'd like.

    Hover Change?

I dont see it in the patch notes, but even if they did it would barely be noticable.
  19. Black_Marrow

    nerfed?

I dont see a nerf in there at all, and Willpower is fairly balanced at the moment IMO.

  21. What's the background/theme for the group?
  22. I actually already have a character that I was looking for a PPD RP group for, this is perfect!

Captain Mask, former PPD SWAT officer turned superhero after and accident during a raid on a Crey laboratory. He gained some mild strength and physical aptitude, but nothing too unremarkable. Attempting to rectify their mistake, and look better in the public eye after inadvertantly creating so many meta-messes, they decided to publicly apologize and pay him reparations. After attempting the cape life as a strong guy with a shield, he eventually got bored and decided it was time to go back to the force. The character is a Shield/Strength tank at 30, but I have no qualms re-rolling him, since his costume needs a major overhaul either way. If he doesnt fit I can always roll a Peacebringer (which I would play as human form).

Note: remember the Semi-static team thing? It died. One of the people involved stopped playing and another deleted his character for it and I decided it was just garbage from there :/. Thank goodness something interesting popped up or I might have cancelled my account!

Go to Virtue in pocket D and hang around for about 30 min. There will be at least one ERP mt that then flares up broadcast worse then the barrens on patch day.
