You may be right - from the GMOTD and prior playing experience the event should be live now.

Fun to play the wait and see game....
  2. Not working for my lvl 50 villain in Grandville. No event is running in Gville, and I hope that you do NOT need an event running to ToT.
  3. Just logged in on my lvl 50 villain, and got the GMOTD:

Trick or treat! The 2009 Halloween Event is here! Brace yourself for the new apocalypse as our annual Halloween Event returns! Legions of Zombies, Werewolves, Jack-o-Lanterns, and other foul denizens are preparing to descend upon Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. This year they're bringing even more powerful allies! The new apocalypse is deadlier than ever as mysterious monstrosities are joining forces with the Eidolons, Shivans, and others. Paragon City and the Rogue Isles could be in terrible peril, and only the greatest Heroes and Villains can turn back the tide.

But before you launch yourself into the action, there are a couple of things we need to make you aware of: * you should enable the Events Channel on your Chat channel Tab to see which zone the Deadly Apocalypse (announced as ‘Supernatural activity detected in Zone X) or the Zombie Invasion is occurring in; * if the Halloween Event kicks off in a Zone that has multiple instances, it is only occurring in ONE zone (for example, if there are two instances of Atlas Park, check both Atlas Park and Atlas Park 2).

The event ends on Tuesday, November 3rd at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (2:59 a.m. Eastern Time) so be sure to visit Ravenwing Cabbal's Annah in Croatoa or Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago to learn more about the 2009 Halloween Event activities! Happy trick or treating!

Anyone else having issues where clicking doors in a lvl appropriate zone without an event running does not produce a ToT mob? Is this working as intended?

Also, Granny does not provide any useful info if you have previously turned in salvage for your costume slot. Having the GMOTD direct you to learn more is a terrible idea if she will only speak to folks who have not turned in salvage.
  4. Great setting for the event - TY for hosting it!
  5. I just stumbled across this today, and I have to say that this is awesome!

This. My jaw dropped when I saw the cutscene for the first time. And not in a good way.

I was happily surprised when VEATS were able to be squeezed into an issue earlier than expected. However, the VEAT storyline really feels like it was done under a tight deadline.
  7. I decided on selling the crafted lvl 50 Run IO (redside)on Saturday. I sold around 50 of them, with a price range of 500,000 - 888,884 each.

I then became too interested in getting levels on my new claw/elec brute to craft any more.

    Good times!
  8. I posted this by accident in the incorrect section - I am reposting it here.

Feedback from testing on 10/13 - redside, lvl 50 Brute (+4 x6 no AV)

Very cool when the event kicks off in a zone - music and audio is perfect for the event. NPCs run away when it begins - nice touch.

Clicking the i in the NAV bar (when near a banner) produced some very helpful information and backstory. I copied and pasted it into Word, and it appears to be complete and helpful.

As I was the only one in Cap, I quickly discovered that this part of the Halloween event is not soloable. That is, despite being at a banner and defeating the critters as they spawned, I was never able to get the progress bar to show any blue. The critters did not spawn fast enough for my liking, and often only two spawned at a time. I assume that because I was the only one there, only minions and LTs spawned.

While the spawning is similar to the Zombie Apocalypse, at least with the AZ you can get some badges just by knocking off minions and LTs. Not the case with the banners, as you can not make a banner vulnerable on your own. Just my observations - however, I assume that folks who play at off hours OR on low pop servers will quickly notice this once it goes live.

I was at two different banners during the event. The Terror banner stopped spawning critters after 5 minutes, so I moved on to the Fiend banner.

Stats for those that like stats:
minion defeat = 2,363 inf; LT defeat = 6,114 inf
defeated 52 LTs, 48 minions during the event
1 SO drop, 12 salvage drops, 13 insp drops, 6 recipe drops (5 generic)

I think there might be an issue with the drops at the Fiend banner. My first 13 kills there dropped 6 inspirations (nothing else) - my next 69 kills there dropped 0 inspirations, 6 recipes and 9 salvage. My insp tray was not full when this happened.

    Double XP

It started immediately after maintenance today.

Or turrets in RV now grant 128,000 infamy each kill before 2xp.

I should be available for this, and would like to bring my fire/fire broot.

This is a good idea, but does not work well for my toons. The VG I am in hit max capacity in mid 2006. We created an alt VG and moved less active characters there to make room for new blood in the original VG. As VG membership limits have been expanded since then, this may not be an issue for most folks going forward.

Also, I believe I moved one of my toons out of my current VG for a night to do some IoP raiding....
  13. I did laps around Potter's Field to get that badge. BP Masks also spawn there at night, so that was a bonus for me.
  14. I would like to see the creation date for my characters in-game. Perhaps it could be found in-game by clicking on an NPC citizen. Not the most critical of things to ask for, but I was interested in determining just how old some of my many characters are.

This is all based on the assumption that when characters are created there is a date stamp saved somewhere in the back-end.

Vet badges really do not do the trick as they are account based. Someone else had the clever idea of using the date/time info that is available for badges listed in the Most Recent category. However, that category is restricted to only 50 badges, which is not going to work if you have, say, 51 badges.

I wonder if the date/time stamp for badges earned could be applied to badges outside of the Most Recent category. That would kinda solve my request, as I could get a good guess at my creation date by looking at the date my first badge was earned.
  15. From what I read a while back (somewhere, but not from the 2008 survey) there will be 'rewards' that only a pure hero or villain can obtain. Not sure if that means a badge or an IO or something else entirely.

I am sure that I will be switching my villain badger to the blueside to get a few more badges, then switching him back redside.

No word about the new ATs in the expansion either....thought I heard that SPY was a new one coming soon.

It's not perfect, but it gives an idea.
    A clever idea!

However, I am only getting badges in the MOST RECENT category to display any information. Is there something I can do to get that info under other categories?
  17. Kinda what I thought. TY for the quick responses.
  18. Is there a way to see a character's creation date?

I know that certain NPC citizens will provide various info when clicked (from here), but I can not find a way to see when a character was actually created.

    Any ideas?

Who knows, perhaps there will be new things to buy with candy canes this year . . . .
  20. Glad you had a great day!

    Happy (belated) birthday!
  21. OUCH!

Thanks for the heads up - putting these on hold for now.
  22. Just curious why the patch notes post is dated 9/14? I assume it was written on 9/14 but not posted until today (9/15).

It makes things more difficult to find in the Community Rep section....
