I'd go see it if that put Bill Z Bubba in it. And I got to play him. I'd be happy to sit in a chair for 6 hours every morning getting all the makeup and prosthetics put on.
Make it CGI/animated? I can do his voice. -

Quote:First thing is first:Bill I got a new computer and followed your instructions as I had before successfully. I then forgot to install Test. Then came the closed beta for Dual Pistols and I decided to copy an install for Test. This is where I hit some issues. First off it was when test was having weird updater issues. I eventually managed to get through doing the installation on this Windows 7 machine but it never created a new shortcut to cohupdater.exe.
So I now have a desktop with the all the log files and the copy of the .exe and a shortcut that says CohUpdater - Shortcut. But when I remove everything but that shrotcut from the desktop I cannot tun it since it's in the trash. So I've left it all on my desktop and can connect to the test server that way. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks
The only shortcut that should be on the desktop for the live version is the shortcut to the cohupdater.exe that points to the live install directory.
Getting test up and running uses slightly different steps that above:
1: Ignore the Program Files directory completely.
2: Copy your LIVE install directory from backup drive or current LIVE install directory to d:\games\cohtest (c:\games\cohtest would work as well)
3: Copy cohupdater.exe from the test install directory to the desktop. Do NOT create a shortcut to it.
(Here's where it changes)
4: Create a shortcut on your desktop of the copy of the cohupdater.exe that you just copied out of the test install directory. (Odd, yes, but the reason this must occur is that the cohupdater often attempts to update the cohupdater file within the install directory and can't if it's in use.)
5: Right click that new shortcut and choose Properties.
6: Under the Shortcut tab, in the box that says "Target" at the end of that line of text add " -test" without the quotes. There must be a space between .exe and -test. Hit Apply and then hit Ok.
7: Run the shortcut you just modified.
8: Don't let it install to where it wants to. Change directory to <drive>:\games\cohtest
9: When the "Next" button appears (came up in seconds since everything was already updated) close the screen. Do not hit Next.
10: Now it's cleanup time. Go ahead and delete everything except your original LIVE shortcut to cohupdater.
11: Open up your cohtest install directory and create a new shortcut to the cohupdater.exe found there to your desktop. Now go back into the properties of that shortcut and add, once again, the " -test" without the quotes to the end of the target line.
12: Rename shortcut to CHVTest or whatever you like.
Now you should have One shortcut for CHV Live and One shortcut for CHV Test.
Lots of steps, yes, but as long as you keep a single updated copy of the live install directory somewhere else, you can quickly get back up and running with either live or test. -
Here's what I did when I moved CHV to my new Win7 rig:
1: Ignore the Program Files directory completely.
2: Copy old install directory from backup drive to d:\games\coh (c:\games\coh would work as well)
3: Copy cohupdater.exe from the install directory to the desktop. Do NOT create a shortcut to it.
4: Run cohupdater.exe
5: Don't let it install to where it wants to. Change directory to <drive>:\games\coh
6: When the "Next" button appears (came up in seconds since everything was already updated) close the screen. Do not hit Next.
7: Delete the copy of cohupdater.exe I made. Delete the log files that were generated by the updater. Leave only the shortcut to cohupdater.exe created by the updater.
8: Play game. -

I did the same for energy melee and peacebringer background droning sounds. Made both much more pleasant.
And yea, man, that's disturbing. -
My fire/shield scrapper is this guy. I've actually come to like the fire sword scream.

Apparently I was broadcasting pretty hard, because she "saw" me coming a mile away... literally -
Quote:I believe he did.You did that when you solo'd the Lady Gray TF a couple months after it came out, didn't you, Cat?
I still want to solo the LRSF with my brute, but when I'll get around to getting his build up to snuff is a question only the elder gods know. -
If they don't do 1:1 they're being... rude.

If the option to utilize multiple monitors were added, I would take advantage of it.

I'm all for CHV2. New graphics engine? Great! Dynamic map creation? Better! More robust costume generator? Sweet!
Doing it in a way that ties into CHV beyond back story in any way? Dumb. -

Quote:That's not quite what happened. The set was released with incorrect values. Those values were fixed. True that many viewed it as a nerf, but it was a correction.
Seems like they learned something from the port of claws to brutes. The set was overpowered when they first ported it, so they changed it to be in line with other sets, which many people viewed as a nerf.
I know.. doesn't really matter to anyone but me, but it was the case. -
Quote:I might have missed something. Does Piercing Rounds' -res stop functioning if you aren't using standard rounds?
The only times that DP is actually a respectable contender for DPS is when it is using either Standard Ammo (thanks to PR's -res) or Incendiary Ammo (thanks to the bonus DoT). Chem Ammo and Cryo Ammo are actually substandard for damage specifically because they're not getting either of those benefits -
Good reason not to play /kin.
OP, I would have kicked as well. If you have a power and your team mates are requesting that you use it, use it. Don't be a putz.
If you don't like assisting your teammates with your powers, either don't take the power in question at all or don't play support classes.
I choose to never play /kin specifically because of the addiction to SB the vast majority of players in this game have. Myself included. And I play a claws/sr with swift and quickness and I leave sprint on in combat. yea, I'm cool with hitting the runspeed cap during battle. <twitch, twitch, hehehehehehehehehehee, zooooom>
Granted, when I am playing my corruptors, if a team lead ever tells me to quit blasting and go into healbot mode, I'll be hitting that quit team button. -
Quote:I'm not sure that Castle considers the HO issue worth fixing.I would be very surprised if a nerf of some type doesn't happen when you see comments like "I see no reason to roll anything other than a Shield" splattered all over the forums.
I would expect the devs to close the HAMI bug and possibly reduce the DDR even more.
As for incoming nerfs, maybe. SR is easier to softcap and its DDR self-caps all the time once fully built. The only way to cap DDR on SD is to double stack AD which cuts into your DPS. This is, of course, canceled by AAO's massive damage buff.
Ok, let's compare it to FA. No wait, that'd be dumb. FA sucks no matter what you do to it.
Invul has an incredible taunt aura (so does SD) and can softcap (so can SD) and has massive S/L dam-res. Ok, invul wins there. Low DDR from what I recall.
Regen is still regen.
hrm. maybe AAO should get hit with the bat a bit.

Cyborg: Tech
Magic: Magic
Superscience: Science
Martial Arts: Natural
That leaves mutant.
More monstrous heads, tails, body pieces and tentacles for arms.
Some emotes.
Some temp power.

pffft.
I can quit any time I want. And I have.

I'll be on again later tonight. -
I have a DP/Traps corruptor at level 30. She soloes well for a squishie. She brings quite a few goodies with her to a team. Defense based brutes appear to love her the most for obvious reasons.
Yes, the animations are long. I have found that this is somewhat balanced out by how often I can lay out the AoE damage. Also, traps is more of a fire and forget secondary, so that is no doubt shaping my view of the redraw on the set.
The only issue I have found so far is my ST damage output. However, I've already determined how to shape the build to correct for that in a away that will suit me.
In other words, I have no major gripes about dual pistols. I would not fight against a buff to the ST attacks.
