  1. There's also the 'cost' of giving e motes to MM pets. I use e motes on pets fairly often but i'd be willing to give up pet e motes for appearance options.
  2. The SSA red side tells the story from another angle. There's someone else involved in things besides Malaise. And i don't mean the player.
  3. When i run a stalker solo, i check what the mob consist of, scout around for stragglers and any other mobs nearby, and start by surgically striking important targets first ,like healers. Stalkers are great for this. But usually this tactic isn't used or needed on teams. The few uses for stealth on a team can be done by other AT power sets with stealth like Illusion or Dark Miasma or with the stealth pool power. Stalkers just don't have anything unique to bring to a team. The coming changes may make them better at single target damage. But that would just make them specialized scrappers with less staying power. Stalkers are a stealth oriented AT. But stealth isn't used or needed as often on a team, which reduces the usefulness of a stalker. If stalker stealth was better than other stealth and stealth had more uses on a team, stalkers might be in demand. I doubt anything can be done for this though.
I'm aware that the stealth for stalkers can be better than other AT stealth in PVP, but there's no real noticeable difference in PVE.
  4. If you decide to play that toon, you've got a good reason to have Super Speed. Just remember to shoot Hitler as you come around again.

I've got a DM/EA stalker from before EA was reworked. It was good before, it's better now, and i'm guessing it'll be great after the stalker change.
  6. 3 reasons for me.
1: I'm a bit of a mad scientist. I like to try different things and styles to see how they work out. And this game has more variety in an easy to operate form than any other game that i've seen so far. You can create and run and be almost anything you can imagine.

2: The incredible customization. I'm severely disabled in real life. I can't walk and have trouble using my left hand. But thanks to the incredible customization of this game through keybinds and macro's, various ideas contributed by others on the forums, and my 30+years of video game experience, i can play well enough to solo comfortably at higher settings and pull my weight on any team i'm on. Even as a healer or front liner on a TF. I've also had some success in PVP. I started about 3 years ago (not on forums then) and wanted to see if i could blend in, keep up, and not seem any different than anybody else, never mentioning my condition. Except for my slow typing, i think i've succeded. The mechanics of this game are easy enough for me that i can focus more on being creative and having fun. I broke my own rule about not mentioning my condition. It won't happen again

3: The player community and devs are fun to be around (with the occasional rude player as an exception, but that's life).
  7. Dismiss doesn't work. They're gone from your display but are still around and stuck and you can't summon new ones.
/releasepets does work. If you dismissed them first with the above problem, /releasepets will still release them.

    Chat bind help

This may be what you mean.

    /bind enter "afk ((Typing))$$startchat"

Replace ((Typing)) with whatever you want.

    So... spines...

Spines has less damage per hit than other sets, but most attacks by it also have an 80% chance of extra toxic DOT damage and some attacks have a small slow effect. Claws Focus has a knockdown which makes it better for defense. Impale has an immobilize which is good for catching runners and seems to also ground fliers. I have a spines/fire scrappers with more AOE's than single target attacks. Not so good on bosses or AV's but nice at taking out their henchmen.
  10. Are we talking about a normal (sorta) team or a SG/VG? It sounds interesting to me either way. I could transfer, make, or remake a character for it as needed.

As far as "SG Incarnates," "SG IOs" and the like - honestly, I'd rather not punish people who aren't part of an SG or are part of smaller SGs.
    Agreed.
  12. I like more mature humor, But sometimes I'd just like to watch something with no point other than to just be funny like Beavis & Butthead, Monty Python, Red Dwarf, or the old ILC. Hopefully it has the right level of stupid. Sometimes things can be so stupid it's funny. Other times it's just plain dumb.

This wouldn't work because Soul Drain is an attack and would take you out of hide when used. Everything else sounds interesting.
  14. To fit in with the assassin like image, instead of increasing their base damage, maybe just increase the damage of their crits significantly. Scrappers are supposed to be specialist in straight forward melee attacks, Tanks are for taking it the best and blocking for others, Brutes are for general beatemup. Stalkers should be the best at finding and using weak points. When forced to scrap, they should be able to do more damage when they find that 'sweet spot'. The AS is an example of what they can do with time to aim and optimize.
  15. This happen to me about a year or 2 ago. The flickering would continue for about 30 seconds and then the game would crash. I discovered it was caused when i would accidentally press the middle mouse button. Doing so activated a mode while web surfing which caused mouse movements to scroll and changed my pointer to what looked like a circle with up and down arrows in it. I think it's called chording. At the time my video card was also a NVidia (FX 5500 i think) and i was using Windows XP. I disabled the middle mouse button with options in the mouse drivers and it was ok after that. I've since then gotten a new computer built by my brother and me (mostly him) and run Windows7 with a Radeon card. I forgot to disable the middle mouse button but i haven't had that problem yet.
  16. I'm with the majority when i say if it was intentional, cool, if it's a bug, let it stay and try to make it a part of the game. If it's causing some game issues, try to make it workable without reducing the size. Seeing a GM like Scrapyard this size would have the "OH CRAP!" reaction needed when seeing them stomping through the city. Using AE as a testing ground to see what issues may come of it is a suggestion.
  17. The decision about what's good or evil varies with each countries outlook and also changes over time and with religion or lack thereof. Being able to determine the genes that cause certain behavior tendencies is only half of the question. What behavior is good or evil will still be made by the region's society and would change with time and situations. If it were something that was actually flawed instead of just being different, then it might be ok. But genetic altering based on society opinion wouldn't be a good idea because it would tamper with evolution. Some of societies greatest achievements were made by people with what would be considered antisocial behavior. Would ADHD be considered good or evil?
  18. Of my 4 best soloers, 1 is a scrapper (DM/SR), 1 is a brute (DM/WP), and 2 are Masterminds (Thugs/Pain and Bots/Traps). All 4 perform about evenly. I've also had success with some stalkers after i got the hang of them. Your personal taste tends to make a difference as well. If you're having fun playing your character, they tend to perform better.
  19. The main point here is communication. The players need to know up front how the TF will be run. Assuming it will be done a certain way without letting it be known that it will be done that way is poor tactics and will always end badly, either with a failed TF or an experience that was not fun.

The problem was likely because your free friend didn't friend you as well. Both have to be friended to each other to see each others messages, otherwise one may not be able to see the others message.

As for RMT's using it, I'm worried about that too. The idea of free accounts allowed to use global friends chat may be a good idea. RMT's could spam you with global invites but wouldn't be able to send their message and would likely not bother.
  21. I haven't tried EA on a Brute or Scrapper yet, but i'll vouch for DM/EA on a Stalker. The combo may be good on others as well.
  22. I wasn't around when tells were spammed but i did catch the mail spam problem before it was handled. I'd have to clear out from 20 to 200 e-mail spams every time i logged in. My ignore list filled up on new characters in 2 days or less and ignoring wouldn't even dent the problem, so i have a rough idea of what things were like. I agree that some restrictions are needed sadly.
Since most spammers i've seen on other games are usually lv1 with a random name (like gskunhsh) they mainly use a character making bot and don't take the time to level up each spam sender. An idea would be to allow tells for free players after lv20 (per character only). Leveling each spambot to 20 every time they have to make a new free account because the account was banned as a spammer would be too much time and effort for them. I've seen this done on another game and it seems to work as well as the current method on this game. Free accounts can't use AE farms to level up to 20 fast. The free players that actually play the game could join the rest of the community with some work while spammers, who take the automated no work approach, would find it more effort than they want and would go elsewhere.
