I feel ya man, my blaster has more resistance than my tanks. I sport almost 60% on my blaster and my tanks have about 55%.
Crying shame, I tell ya. But hey, since my blaster has that kind of resistance, the only thing I have to worry about killing me is another blaster -

As Draggynn said setting Pentad matches as "rated" does not seem to be required for them to award the badge. Since that kind of thing matters to some people that's worth pointing out. I've yet to need any of these arena matches be set to "rated" in order for the badges to drop.

Yes we were having trouble with Swiss matches until we figured it out.
Apparently if you actually try to "play" a match for real (as in if you actually fight each other as you are technically supposed to) then the game seems to randomly decide which player will advance in the Swiss regardless of the outcome of the fight.
But if you decide amongst the 8 players who will be the designated "winner" and make sure the other 7 players just quit their matches without combat then you can reliably get the "winner" to win and get the badge.
We sent bug reports in on this assuming anyone would ever want to play these kinds of matches "for real" sometime.

Since when did Badge Collectors care about ratings? Show me a post in the past 5 years where a badger complained about ratings when it comes to earning a badge.
And my list does not state exact, it states what I did, and I shared my information with others to show how I obtained the badge. Sorry for trying to [censored] help. Here is what I did and it worked.

Now here is what didn't work, we could not get the badge on our villains by using the same settings on a Hero vs Villain Pentad, or a Villain vs Villain Pentad.
Our heroes were able to get the badge, our Villains could not, no matter how we tried it. I'm leaning towards the Villain badge is bugged when it comes to the Pentad match.
Swiss match worked fine for both hero and villains. -

No matter what you do, the sound loop will remain, its something in the game that causes it and it will crash your client.
I just spent 400 on a new sound card, almost 350 for more ram, I run minimal settings for faster performance and no matter what, I still get the sound loop and crash.
If I turn off the sound within the game,I never crash. -

Hey, I got a better idea, how about giving us a damn option to turn off all incoming emails for each of our characters. Or better yet, eliminate the use of the email system on trial accounts!
I never use the email system, but yet I'm bothered by it each and every time I log into the game. Whats really funny is there is no limit to emails that I know of when it comes to receiving them, one of my characters has 537 emails currently in his inbox in the game.
But yet, there are limits to everything elsewe do in the game ... go figure

Even though this sounds like a fantastic idea, it'll never happen. If they won't revert the current zones to this, I doubt they will make a new zone to do it. -

In other words, you have diminishing returns on your PvP builds to make it fair to the people who can't afford slotting their character up like you have. So they put diminishing returns on set bonuses to bring you down to the level of everyone else. -

You're right, but what Mid's doesn't factor in is the [censored] [censored] diminishing returns on your set bonuses and your defenses.
For example:
My fortunata has the following in PvE
Melee Defense - 65.2
Ranged Defense - 53.4
AOE Defense - 53.4
Now in PvP I have:
Melee Defense - 40.7
Ranged Defense - 36.15
AOE Defense - 36.15
See, a 1.5 billion dollar build reduced to [censored]!
Good luck with any defense AT in pvp, BTW that 10% elusivity, is crap and doesn't help a damn bit considering the loss of the defense percentages in my above comparison. -
Defense has no business in PvP anymore.

Long-time player here, who has NEVER engaged in any type of PvP activity.
But I'm curious, and was hoping you could suggest the best way to start, where to go from there, and explain (in brief) some of the MOST BASIC ideas behind PvPing (e.g. how does xp/debt work in PvP, what ATs are best for a beginner PvPer (I have a number of 50s to choose from), and like that).
The guides I've looked at here seem to start with the assumption that you know at least a little about PvP, which I don't. Unless I didn't see the Guide I should be looking at...
I have 50s (heroes only) on Freedom and Liberty, and if anyone would be so generous as to offer to meet me in-game and hold my hand through my first PvP experience, I'd be up for that.
I'll be playing tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow night, for an unknown period of time between 7p - 12m Eastern U.S. time.

Well my MA/SR Scrapper was doing well enough under I12, and was quite good under I13, but now under I14 the bloom is definitely off the rose. Currently, you can't stack up Defense like you could under I12, and you effectively have no Elusivity at all (10 points may as well be 0), so SR is worse off then it has ever been. Not that it was at any point overpowered or uber, but under I12 and I13 it was at least playable.
Under Issue 14, forget about it.
Back to the drawing board.
P.S. My Bane was surprisingly good under I12, but ever since I13 he's been kind of a joke in PvP. Back to the drawing board with him, too. IIRC, Banes don't get squishy-Resistance or Elusivity, what little Defense they have Diminishes so they are essentially defenseless under new PvP. In I12, so long as you kited, you could do quite well.

My Widow use to be very good in PvP with soft cap defense + some, but now, I don't even try to pvp with her. Almost 1.5 billion infamy build is gone down the drain and now respresent 5 million SO build that can't perform for crap. -

What's really ad about the whole PvP change its, it was directed to the Non-PvPer. They did this in hopes to get more PvErs involved into PvP and failed big time.
But yet, the PvPers are the ones left to deal with the changes, as it didn't effect the PvErs at all. -

I'll be honest, I wasn't what you considered a hardcore PvPer, as most would call it. I never PvPed on test nor did I have any interest in the arena. I was a zone PvPer. I loved scouting all the zones looking for fun. I did this everyday I logged in and played in the PvP zones for hours on end.
With the new changes to PvP, I lost total interest in PvP all together.I hate the slow feeling of it. Don't get me wrong, before the changes PvP was great, it had a few things that needed attention, but not to the extent it was taken. A lot of people I know who were zone PvPers no longer are playing the game or no longer interested in PvP due to the changes.
I've tried to adapt to the changes, but for the most part, I still hate it now and find myself in PvP zones maybe a hour a week, until I get frustrated at how borked it is. I do love the no-toggle dropping when it comes to mezzes, this is awesome. But this one great thing doesn't account for all the bad things I don't like. -

Ok another 2 days have pasted and my testing results are the same. I can not get a recipe of my level which is 33.
In Bloody Bay, still getting level 41 recipes
In Siren's Call, still getting level 41 recipes
Warburg, I get nothing at all. Warburg is my main testing grounds and after 5 days now, give or take a few hours, Ive gotten ziltch.
It seems to me that being sk'ed to the zones level grants you no recipes at all. Being exemped grants you recipes of higher level than you can possibly use.
