Quote:Because every time we pick up a new issue of "The Flash" or whatever, dinos are up front and center, right?...!Yeah, you´re of course right. Dinosaurs and Super Heroes really don´t mix, as if one of the big two publishers would do something ridiculous like that. puh-lease.
Oh, right [SNIP!]
Or are they?
I still say, out of all possible costume packs requested, a dinosaur themed pack remains Massive Fail.
As far as the other person nattering on about dinos everywhere having been found bristling with pinfeathers, yeah right. I'll file that right next to "I WAS KIDNAPPED BY BIGFOOT!" claims. Hope that does not sound "snobby."
Those of you who think this game needs a One Thousand Years BC theme, carry on. I'm out. -
Quote:...Probably around the time they get around to FINALLY QUIETING DOWN THE *^&$#, *^%&@@, !!!!!!, DEMON MM SET!!!!I just want to know if there are plans to quiet Lassie down just a bit. I think it would be more fitting of a dark set if it were ominously quiet with some growling mixed in.
Which is to say, probably around the 12th of Never. *sigh* Oh well, I can turn my sound off for the dog, just like I can for those %^$#@ demons. -
.... out of all the requests that have been made, we're getting a pack based on dinosaurs, in a comic-book themed game.....? Seriously? Really.....?
Ugh. Fail.
Quote:Dinosaur skeletons have been found with feathers? Except for archaeopteryx, can't say I've heard much about all that.and no... when you find lots and lots of dinosaur skeletons with feathers... you kinda have to start telling people about it.
Dinosaurs having feathers is the new "cool" speculation. Last time I heard they were all allegedly sporting wildly striped and spotted skins. I think we can safely say that these theories are just that: theories. People sitting around blueskying, keeping the grant-money flowing. -
Quote:The issue was resolved, and then whatever crisis was going to hit Ultimate Marvel Universe did just that, and things went on from there. So in other words, Captain America won and the incident was resolved? The Hulk isn't still out there years later stomping down New York City WHILE every other bad thing that's ever happened in the Marvel Universe is simultaneously happening?
The problem here is that its considerably easier to write and draw a comic book than create an issue's worth of content. This game is finite, and we're lucky we have as much variety as we do - think of it like that. -
As someone who was playing villains long before villains were cool, i.e. before VEATs, I have zero sympathy and can only say "man up." I'm female, and I still say "man up."
What happens in and around Paragon is very much in keeping with the continual crises which beset any superhero comic locale - just kinder and gentler. Hell, in the Marvel U. NYC is almost flattened every other week.
Want a real crisis? I remember the time a lust-beset Hulk all but flattened NYC out of sheer angst and Captain America had to take him out [non-lethally, altho Cap was plenty annoyed]; I think that was in Ultimate Spider-man back in the day. Frankly I dont see how people in the Marvel U. even dare to rent apartment space in NYC. Paragon is practically a day-care center in comparison. Paragon heroes are on Easy Street. Don't knock it. -
I really don't see why men cannot have some version of a sash, since men have been wearing 'em for thousands of years. Its a pretty neutral thing, its not like people asking to let men wear RHPS-esque corsets or something like that.
But otherwise, get well soon Zyphoid. Losing your vocal cords is no walk in the park, but the goal to keep in mind is saving your life. Which I know you know, just trying to make you feel a little better or something. Yikes. -
Forgive the question, but what's a good way to be able to tell who is not VIP when forming a league? This has consistently been a problem for me the last few times I have formed trials: everyone will be level 50, but someone somewhere is not vIP and for that reason, I cannot qeue.
I dont get an error message of any kind, and frankly its kind of putting me off forming trials. I almost wonder if people are not sneakily griefing the league by doing this.... I kind of wonder if that last holdout who makes the rest of the league wait five minutes before they hit the green button is griefing, too. Happens a little too consistently to always be an afk....
But I'd really like to know if there is a way I can sort out the non-VIPs. -
Probably they will be implemented around the same time they get around to adding the "made-up" Victorian face to the CC again as an option. There's just no sane reason to deny those of us that face who would like to use it...
-
You know, one thing I love about this is that now we have a way to wear the "witch" robe without that stupid fur collar, which I have never been a big fan of.
Spent a very fun 30+ minutes in the costume creator, tricking out my Asian-themed DB Brute in a new costume I had just the other day unlocked the slot for, with this very set in mind. OMG that little stand-up sheer collar...! <3 -
HOLY CATS, LOOKIT THE FEMALE HAIR AND HEADPIECES!!
This is how you get my money, not by playing pinky-panky-poo with so-called superpacks.
WOW -
Wish I had not seen that art.
1. Both pairs of those boots are so beautiful. The ones we have now, I honestly consider the ugliest footwear in the game - those boots are far beneath bad. And not in a good way.
2. Oh lovely weapons.... where are you?!!
3. Where is the plain face-mask?!! WANT
4. The male belt actually looks like he's NOT wearing a bustle on each hip, in the artwork.
5. While eventually working on these fixes, how about adding the original Victorian Steampunk female face option to the CC? leave the one thats there now and add the made-up option back again. It'd be simple to do, and so much appreciated -
Quote:I don't believe any of this for a second, and how do we know hint-dropping by such people is not allowed? Simple. If a family member came out here and got all snarky with the hints and the smileys, the developer they were related to would catch A LOT of heat at work. "You TOLD! You told SECRET STUFF! to your obnoxious forum GIRLFRIEND!! You BROKE CONFIDENTIALITY, you LIED and betrayed us, you broke your contract and CLEAN OUT YOUR DESK!"I dunno Dark Energon, I have said this before and I will say it again, I think Golden Girl is either a daughter of a Dev or mayhaps sister, wife, or close cousin...and how do you know hint dropping by such a person is not allowed?
Quote:And why does Golden Girl get you hot under the collar? Instead of just shaking your head, and clucking at your monitor, you dash off an unfriendly post...and...if you are trying to prove to your fellow forum readers how vastly superior you are to Golden Girl, I really advise you to learn to spell the word "You"
She aint anyone close to the developers, and here's the most damning evidence why not: they do not make haste to do what she wants. Cape-hair? Absent. Total destruction of the Malleus badge, along with its being stricken from stone monuments and eradicated from the papyrus scrolls as Teh Most Evil Thing Evar?? Hasn't happened. Her predictions are often wrong.
Ain't skeered. -
Quote:Unfortunately for you, not everyone feels the same way.
still, NO MORE CORSETS and more pieces that everyone can wear. thank you.
We have had a few new entries recently under "corsets." I love them all, and if we had twenty different corsets in the costume creator, probably all of them would get used. Corsets are popular, you see. Not just with me, but I see them everywhere, constantly.
They're not popular with the person I quoted, true. But I find his dystopian vision of No New Female-Specific Costume Parts EVAR to be quite depressing. And he does not speak for the entire playerbase.
As for someone's claim that women don't have more costume "needs," yeah right. Since any given store's ratio of female clothing department vs male clothing department is probably at least 2:1 - if not more - seems that real life disagrees.
Women are clotheshorses. Deal with it. -
Quote:No offense, but claiming DA is "depressing" is like saying, "Can we get this graveyard over here to be more cheery? I find it depressing." Well of course its gloomy and depressive, its a GRAVEYARD.FW is, overall, overcast.
The new DA is constantly stuck at night.
I'd love a sunny, tropical even, zone that doesn't depress me just flying around it.
Eco
And so is DA. Its meant to be scary. I like it. And as others have mentioned, if you want daylight all the time we have a zone for that right now: Cimerora. -
Quote:I'm too busy trying to get past the Bugs Bunnyish "POOK!" sound effect made when you draw a Titan Weapon, much less worry about the other sounds....or is something missing?
This is not an entirely rhetorical question, as I'm not sure if the sound just isn't working for me, but TW has basically no impact noise on my end. There's plenty of swooshing sounds as it gets swung around, but when it makes contact there's basically nothing. Compare it to pretty much every other melee set out there, and TW is the quietest of them all, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
Assuming that it's not just my computer and TW really is that quiet, I'm sure there are people who prefer it this way, which leads to my other question. To any devs/CMs reading, would it ever be feasible to have alternate sound effects, in a similar vein to alternate animations? I can think of more than a few times in the game when I personally would consider the sound effects less than ideal (Sonic Blast comes to mind) and it might be nice to have options.
My Titan person is only level 11 and I am trying hard to love this set.... but between the slapstick weapon-draw sound and the seemingly absent ACC aspect - continual missing my target, just CONTINUAL, and I slot for ACC 1st thing - I'm having a little trouble.
As for wanting "loud, attention-grabbing" sounds for TW, I really don't. I get enough of that crap when playing Demon Masterminds. Every five seconds, "ARRRROOOOOOOooOOOOOOO!" Its worth picking up Group Fly just to shut them up! -
Quote:I'm hoping Zwillinger and other Powers That Be *don't* decide to take this seriously. Why not? Because 4 out of 5 of these:Oh, I didn't start this topic in the interest of nerfing villain rewards, but offering more options for them to better fit a villain's motivations.
In no way was my suggestion a 'sell', just something I was thought I'd present, and wanted to see what we, collectively, can come up with or find that could make villains just as desireable to play as heroes... something... different that sets them apart. This reward table idea is just one idea... I'd like to see others. Hopefully Zwillinger or one of the Dev's may poke in and read it, passing these ideas on.
Quote:After completing the story arc, or mission, you could make one of the following choices:
1) Keep the item- it becomes a temp power with so many charges. You do NOT get end of story XP or Inf. The item is powerful and really useful (it is a Death Ray of Doom after all) making it worth the sacrifice.
2) Sell the item- You get NO end of story XP but a substantial inf reward instead.
3) Trade the item on the Black Market- Instead of XP or Inf you get a special drop recipe reward off the best list (can't recall the different drop tiers off the top of my head... whatever's the best one).
4) Use the item to further your own power- NO end of story Inf, but you get more XP instead (it's presumed you either consume, integrate, or implement it in some way that increases your own personal power)
5) Destroy the item- You get the regular end of story xp and inf, but you get a prestige bonus for being so audacious that you'd actually destroy it.
We've overcome so much as villains, including being 50% poorer for YEARS due to the market. We were "set apart" enough, thanks. We have fewer zones, fewer task forces, fewer badges, the list goes on and on. How about NOT fewer rewards? Becasue telling me that I might get a temp power but no xp or infamy just feels really..... nerfish.
Quote:someone else: But then I also did say people need to get over the "Heroes this" "Villains that" -
I'm for whatever it takes to add decorative items to bases - like more LIGHTING! - just whatever it takes, make it happen....
I want to be able to put candles on tables, to have windows with scenic vistas or scary eyes peering in, or fireplaces - lit or not - we need beds, we need many more kinds of lighting fixtures that we have.... the base editor is an antiquated, creaky MESS and oh gawd it needs to be addressed yesterday. Jack-o-lanterns.... I need them in the base. We need more chairs! We need more wall-art! We need rugs! What DONT we need, come to think of it. Smaller teleporters! Why does a teleporter take up 100 square feet or whatever?!!
With people buying 78 Superpacks at a time, revenue simply can't be the issue these days. Make it happen already~! -
Quote:No it doesn't. We have only recently begun to OVERCOME the "heroes get the good stuff, villains get a rock" concept. [With the exception of EAT vs VEAT, which is still and shall forever remain villain > hero, hahaha.] Villains still, to this day, have more to overcome than heroes do. Their homeside content is more difficult, and there are fewer teams to get those rewards ON.Pffft. I have no problems with them allowing villains to get a reward and the heroes not to. And vice versa.
I think people need to get over the whole "This isn't fair" thing they have going when it comes to heroes/villains or male/female avatars.
If it makes sense. Let it happen.
This makes sense.
How about let's don't nerf villain rewards? Thx. -
Quote:I do that [max shoulders, min waist and hips] will all my toons, male or female. Well, recently I have been leaving the male waist slider alone, so thats not quite true.I tend to Timmverse my male characters; max shoulders, min waist and hips. Female characters I try to go more realistic than comic book (yes I mean the boobie slider).
I reduce the bust-slider to half-strength or less.... I used to leave it alone, but then I decided smaller was more elegant. -
Quote:That's when you tell the studio "Alpha Mike Foxtrot," at least until the DVD comes out. Or... this IS Ghost Rider, and is unlikely to be worthy of a theatre viewing to begin with. I say, just wait.Well, I completely spaced and forgot to hit the late-late showing of the new Ghost Rider flick last night.
So I go and look up tickets in my area for the non-3D version.
Basically, unless I leave work early, there quite literally AREN'T any!
Whiskey
Tango
Foxtrot
?
So now, because people are figuring out what a ***tastic gimmick 3D is, the studios are basically going to force it on us unless we want to just take half a day off work to see it in the middle of the day or go in over a weekend?
Having said that, if Prometheus turns out to be 3D I am going to be seriously bummed.[Dont think it is planned as such, but studios do stranger things all the time.]

Quote:I would not bet a dollar thatthey wouldn't do just this. This is a costume set people really want. What better time to try to get everyone to buy packs...?
I really hope they don't gate the Retro Sci-Fi stuff behind such a pack and just sell it for the usual $5 to $7.50. As I mentioned in one of the poll threads, the Retro Sci-Fi pack is so exciting to me that I will actually re-sub to get it on my many, many characters whose concepts are built around that whole idea. But not if it's in a superpack. Historically I have abysmal luck in getting drops. -
Quote:You're usually offered a little taste of an addictive substance, to get you rolling/all enthused. Then and only then do the kid gloves come off.I am subscribed to many global channels on Virtue and haven't heard a negative word yet in-game (I played for 3 hours tonight). Heard lots people talking about what they got in their packs, happy about the costume piece drops, and especially freaking out on some of the enhancements. Not too different from late last night when they hit the market.
I think I'll pass. -
Quote:Outstanding. I can't wait till they gate every single desireable thing behind gambling; and yes, its coming. I am not naive enough to think that they're stopping now.... they're getting everyone's feet wet with the high drop-rate re the Elemental set. Later.... that drop rate WILL be adjusted. Count on it.Now if they tied every costume bundle to super packs, I could see a problem. They haven't though. And tieing a costume set to super packs while still offering other sets is really not a problem.
Their goal is to make money. To make money they know they'll have to offer the regular bundles. They also know they can make a bit more with the super packs, but they need to give an incentive for it.
My guess right now, is expect more ATO's and costume set to come from future super packs.
Oh well. "Aliens: Colonial Marines" was already lookin' pretty good - its looking even better now.
Sell me something at a set price, and I will happily buy it. But I'm not gambling for this ****, and you can take that to the bank. Repugnant: my best word for this **** of an idea that stinks to high heaven. And I can also tell you, personal insults are not exactly changing my allegiance over to the "O YAY, GAMBLING!" camp. Nooooooooot hardly. -
Quote:Unfortunately for your rather-amusing rant here.... yeah, its actually gambling. Snow Globe to the side, yeah its gambling. You do realize that just because you keep saying it's gambling doesn't actually make it so?
Look, make whatever internal rationalizations you want to yourself, in order to justify your gaming with chance re this issue. Great. But screaming "ITS NOT GAMBLING!" when it plainly IS gambling, is convincing no one.
Be honest with yourself at least, as you pony up. Me, I will not touch these packs with a ten-foot pole. Somehow I find these packs morally repugnant, and no amount of insulting is going to change my mind.
Enjoy your very expensive hunt for the black wolf, btwPass.

How exactly does one convert shards into threads? I have yet to find a way to do it, myself.
