  1. Yaaaay-! ... Wait, can we still keep out non-animated tails too or will the non-animated ones be replaced?

So going on this: Reichsman vs. Lord Winter, let the slugfest begin!

First line of the overview says so.

    http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/gam...ight_hour.html

Second Paragraph. Roman Armor, Roman Peninsula, etc etc.

Cimerora, is in Rome. Paragon Wiki says so, Official City of heroes site says so, the roman badge says so.

Also, the Immunes types, don't look like any real spartans I've ever seen depicted. Spartans from the movie 300 maybe, but real spartans had head to toe armor, the most advanced armor of their age. The 300 Spartans did not hold out on Xerse's army just by skill alone, they had some fantastic armor to help them out.

So there you go. Roman Peninsula. My guess is, around the time of the real Romulus Augustus, this is the City of * Version of his story.
Wouldn't about any place under the Roman Empire's rule be considered "part of Rome" at the time.

I saw that movie and I really loved it.
  7. Well this argument got out of hand.
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to politely request you all delete your posts on the subject of my own statement, and I would like to apologize, for you see, I am an accidental internet troll. This happens because I tend to say things without thinking completely and these situations occured.
(You should have seen one argument I accidentally started by jokingly commenting that American comics must be superior since two guys published a book called: "Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga")

Because the Bruiser you originally summoned was black guy with a goatee, but the one you just summoned is a clean shaven white guy.
  8. Der Freitschutz (Though he's DP/Kin, I actually plan for his finalized version to be a DP/Dev, eventually he'll also have sort of a Malta Gunslinger Costume (his old line of work))
  9. Damn, I can't make a faithful replication of Braig or his Nobody Xigbar. I guess I'll have to come up with something else.
  10. What's sad is that this would be a fairly cool suggestion to implement.
  11. I'd love to make my in-progress Thule Society faction become Canon, actually, their original concept would have proposed them as a villainous counterpart to the Midnight Squad, and if you look up the Thule Society's history, you'd see that they actually were actually opposed to the Nazi Reich in many ways, and thus would still send you to Cimerora, just to screw over the Fifth Column, in fact, that would effectively be their objective; revenge for the Night Long Knives.
Also, maybe have Darin Wade acting as their sponsor/patron.

    3. W.I.S.D.O.M. - there's actually 4 heroes in W.I.S.D.O.M. and only Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit have made it to the light of day. Rose Star and Spark Blade, as interesting as they seem, have never been seen outside of the video promoting City of Hero for the Korean market.
    This, a thousand times!

However, I will admit there is some justification for Sparkblade, in theory, all of his animations would need to be unique, one-handed katana fighting with a pistol out, and his powers would have to be uniquely designed and coded.
But what about Rose Star, who has shown no unique powers like Foreshadow, she's nowhere to be found in game with powers that seem to be based off existing sets, so why?

Also, Flower Knight, we see her in the Outbreak tutorial and then later in Ouroboros, distressingly, both hero and villain versions.

I, for one, would like to see her join the ranks of WISDOM and appear in some other missions.

By the way, while we're at it, what would be some example of characters used just enough to be interesting but not so much they get annoying?
  13. /signed like the fist of the northstar!
  14. May I propose changing the Mez protection power's name from Integration to Homeostasis?
I've never quite understood what integration had to do with becoming resistant to holds and stuff and increasing regeneration rate whereas Homeostasis seems to fit the bill for the set:

    noun
    1. the tendency of a system, esp. the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus tending to disturb its normal condition or function.
    2. Psychology. a state of psychological equilibrium obtained when tension or a drive has been reduced or eliminated.
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/homeostasis

Also, I admit, yes, I do feel bad about making two suggestion posts in such a short time, and with this being a rather plain one.

But in the end, this is a minor change that I'm not going to push too hard.
  15. So, based on my last thread about buffing /nin, I got this crazy idea to help these sets by giving them some leadership powers, sort of, here's what I've got:

-The basic soldier gives all other mercenaries +defense (Perhaps about 2.50% and scaling up with level or increasing with each upgrade but ultimately not meant to surpass say the enforcer or Genin bonuses) to all for each one you have out, with the medic granting a regeneration aura (maybe about +20%) with both of these auras having a limited 20 AoE.
-The Spec ops would give a static 3% tohit buff for each one out.
    -The commando gives no bonuses.

The idea being that soldiers should work well together, and the commando wouldn't since he's supposed to be a one man army and perhaps lack the same teamwork ethic.

    Now for ninjas:
-All ninja except the oni will give a stackable vengeance of varying magnitude (very small for genin, and just barely moderate for jounin) like Nemesis lieutenants.
-The oni would give an assault buff, maybe.
-If possible, perhaps Jounin and Genin are capable of remaining in out four about four minutes even after you die, perhaps changing into something like recharge intensive pets. (Though this could horribly unbalance things with a ninja MM able to have out nearly a dozen ninja or more by dying and self-rezzing quickly)

All this draws from the elemental of honor's demand to avenge fallen comrades and masters as so often displayed in ninja movies, dramas, etc. etc. Also it would make good use of ninjas tendency to die easily.
The oni is left out just because... Well, oni are NOT ninja!

So, this is pretty bare bones, but what do you folks think?

  17. So, while trying to download test today, I randomly was pointed to the fact that it might be slow due to the server being overwhelmed by multiple people downloading it.
Now I'm not even sure this suggestion is possible, but would it be practical if there was a way to basically have the client downloaded work in two different ways, one being standard and the other working like a bit torrent (which if I understand, works better if there are more people downloading) for major updates to reduce server strain.

Again, just a weird thought that probably won't work.
  18. Now I'm not an avid PVPer, but I have PVPed every so often and one of the things I have noticed and a PVPer friend pointed out to me when I asked him if he could make me a good PVP build for my main, was that melee was horribly weak in PVP unless you're a stalker.

But regardless, I decided to give it a shot and ask you folks for your opinion on the build I recently planned out as well as ask if perhaps you might have a better build idea:

Hmmm... Christopher Lee (Count Dooku In Attack of the Clones, DiZ in kingdom Hearts II, The King in the Last Unicorn) should play Nemesis! It'll be awesome!
  22. Things that won't happen and I am grateful for:

-Complete overhaul to /sr including power choices. (Seriously, the set's got it's problems but if they did change it I'd at least like my current build to still be viable)

-Keyblade BS and DB customizations. (Seriously, we don't need that, Gaia bugged me enough with their "G Blade")

-A rated M/AO server. (No... Just... No.)

-Jack Emmert returning as the lead developer and being assisted by the lich of Gary Gynax as they work to screw over the players like never before.

    -Steelclaw as a Dev.

Things we won't see and I'm 'meh' on:

-Vehicles, at least fliers, see the links in my sig.

-Underwater zone. (Officially shot down by BaB himself, I won't argue, really, only lament the loss of a good setting for a pool party)

-Voice acting for NPCs and voice sound FX customization for our PCs

-Child body frame. (I can understand and accept that the devs do not want lolita characters... I would also hate to break it to them that this fails to stop some people anyway)

    -Steelclaw as a Dev.

Things that aren't likely to happen and oh god I want so bad!:

-List too large and too many things likely to occur.

    -DR as a Dev.

    -Steelclaw as a Dev.
  23. Actually, a few old ideas I had for improving skulls and hellions included a weird idea for a two sided story arc, one was focused on the Hellions and the other the skulls (duh).
Basically the two bring out the full powers of their respective patrons... And accidentally blow them up.
But the end result is a horrible, mutating disease that slowly and painfully warps the Hellions into crude demons that are growing limbs out of vital organs (or vital organs growing out of limbs), and the Skulls suffered a necrotic disease that slowly turned them into zombies, death knights, and liches.
Both sides gain amazing power, but neither has any control over themselves, nor do their patrons.
They are just blind, suffering, and lashing out, and the disease they wrought is slowly but surely spreading.

Thus, you have a reason why both gangs would go quietly back to the bottom of the food chain, when the alternative is insanity and suffering, getting knocked out and sent to the Zig after a few good runs suddenly seems like a much better choice.

Maybe not katana, but here's a sword blaster: (It would be the cheapest set EVER)
