  1. I do like the idea of incorporating that old piece of the lore into a summer event. A few suggestions of my own include-

    Temp powers:
    Water gun
    Water Balloon

    Zone additions:
Pocket D Beach/indoor water park area!

    Freedom Phalanx vs. Arachnos...
    In a game over Volleyball.

  3. My prediction is that Back Alley Brawler won't die, but he'll have a very nasty and close brush with it.

He'll need to recuperate, but it will result in him being rerolled as his RIGHTFUL powersets: Willpower and Street Justice.

funny enough, I pointed that out some time ago. It's all rather horrifying to think about and would probably be a perfect way to taunt either Battle Maiden or Valkyrie.

"Seriously, what are you without the nanites in your blood? Nothing. No combat prowess, no powers, not even the strength of body or will to hold your own damn weapons much less fight with them. So in the end, do you really want this? Do you really enjoy this? Or are you just a soulless construct of technology that's alien to even it's own native world?"

But I'm not sure that I'm not imagining that Praetorian text blurb entirely.

Further, none of that explains why Primal Earth calls itself that, though personally, I'd forgive any dimension that produced dimensional explorers for considering itself the "prime" one.
Yeah, funny enough, I think a lore post said that Tyrant himself refers to Primal Earth simply as "Statesman's world."
  6. Well not precisely evil, there's Michael Bay earth, in which all of our characters are poorly interpreted, all girls look like Megan Fox and guys look like Shea LeBouf, and the only way to get out of bed every morning if for an explosion to go off underneath your bed to to run up a stream of gatling gun fire from the helicopter that blew it up and karate kick the pilot and gunners, and then leaping out as the chopper inexplicably explodes, all before landing at your breakfast table to enjoy a KNIFE omelet, glass shard corn flakes, and a tall glass of nitroglycerine.

Sweet. I was aware of the duration increase and the mag increase, but didn't think they were quite so much, nor did I know at all about the chance being increased.

Though it still feels like my thugs MM will definitely benefit greatly from it by, well, turning entire mobs into mobs of pets.
  8. But I'll need help to figure it out: I think the strength of Cognative Core Path is that it's weak for anyone who deals their own damage.

but if you're say a mastermind, illusion controller, or anyone with a metric tonne of pets, you end up with mobs of confused enemies.

    Does this seem right?
  9. Also, Hydra earth is fairly peaceful except for raiding rikti... and your character coming along to pummel the crap out of everyone.

so that brings us to a total of three good universes.

Might be interesting to see or make more use of the good dimensions.

Like consulting the Good Oranbegans for magical advice, or asking the Hydra men... for something.

Or Rikti Traditionalists begin helping out to an extent in later story arcs. Maybe Vanguard crafting stations can start to include summoning drones or rikti Blasters?

Also, going by the Mercedes Sheldon arcs, Darrin Wade arc, Vincent Ross arc, and Mortimar Kal SF, the second part of the SSA arc, the Midnight squad is A LOT worse about losing things, and when they lose things, they are IMPORTANT things. Like Mortimar Kal's daughter, a soul cage, the Devil's Timepiece, the Crown of Glory, countless other unknown artifacts, and WORSE most of the time they don't even KNOW what's missing.

This actually resulted in a character concept who's purpose is explained as: "The truth behind the midnight squad being 'secret' is more because it's easier to hide the mistakes they make, keep making, and will continue to make. Also to make recovery and correction of those mistakes a discreet process hidden from the public eye."
  11. So, in the second mission on the heroside of the arc, you disable the Warburg missile system, correct?
Then in the third mission when you're getting ready to fight Marshal Blitz outside, you see a nuclear missile launch.

Now in the second mission of the villainside arc, you apparently are rearming the nuclear weapons systems of warburg AFTER the heroes already disarmed it the first time, and it apparently stays operational after you leave since the contact boasts about Warburg being fully armed.
The third mission then actually lets to launch the missile after beating the shining stars (or what pathetically remains of them).

At the end of both arcs, the launched missile isn't really mentioned in the debriefing, cutscene captions, or by anyone else.

So where did that missile go? Did it hit? Did it get taken down by some other hero? Was it actually commented on and I missed it? Is this a Brick joke? Because if it is, it's a very bad one since launching a nuclear weapon at Paragon (or somewhere else in the world) is something that REALLY needs to be looked at right away in the story telling medium of a game like this because otherwise it's also a a bad cliffhanger)

A Katana/Invuln scrapper is probably, relative to content, three times stronger than even the tankerish force-based classes. You scrapper-lock in that game, and given how health recovery works you're going to be calling the drones in no time.
Someone has clearly never watched the Original Clone Wars cartoon.
The one where Yoda pulls LARGE SPACE SHIPS OUT OF THE SKY AND SMASHES THEM TOGETHER, or Mace Windu using FORCE HEAD CRUSH JUDGEMENT ON AN ARMY OF DROIDS THEN SWEEPING THEM ASIDE.

Admittedly, some people critique that Cartoon as being way too over-the-top for Star Wars and being the Exalted to Star Wars' DnD 3.5.
  13. To add to things males should get but don't:
    Ponytail 1 and 2
    Longer hair in general

Also, I'd like the shoulder fur for one of my male toons who would wear a fuzzy jacket.

In my head it's meant to one one of those things where it looks silly outwardly but when you see them fight it ends up being pretty badass.

Jesus Christ that was messed up. The villain I ran through on it wanted to help out longbow in the end because Harris was such a whackjob.

I will comment that while I'm not surprised they didn't add any options before sending it to live, I AM amazed that they apparently didn't even touch any of the bugs filed and reported during beta testing.

That in of itself is a big concern right there.
And i'll stop before I go into Yahtzee mode and start making derogatory remarks about the Developers.

  17. I still don't know. The female costume might look, well, to be blunt, slutty. If Techbot showed the back of the male jacket and used the hat that goes with the Gunslinger set, guys end up looking like a moron whose sole source of info on 'the old west gunslinger' consisted of reruns of Bonanza or Marty McFly's costume in the third Back to the Future.

Edit: it's not to say that it's not annoying, or that the Gunslinger pack isn't a bit disappointing (though the female shirt is nice for casual wear like a sundress) I just can't help but think that it's at least gender equal in the respect that neither gender ends up looking good.

    So... Imperious to replace Statesman?
You want to replace Statesman with an ancient Roman version of himself who will torture every one of his 'arrests' to a horrific death?

Seriously, if you read up on what Romans do to prisoners, I think even Golden Girl would prefer to kill the traitors because it's much more merciful than what will happen to them if they're taken alive!
  19. Also: I predict at some point Gilgamesh will play an important role in the Incarnate system.
It's implied in the lore Gilgamesh was the first Incarnate.

    OH SNAP!

Anyway though: it actually might not be such a bold move to kill of Statesman.

For the first three years of playing the game I thought he was just a character slapped on and used for purely for marketing purposes given that his appearance is pretty much the EPITOME of the Super Heroic look. I took one look at that guy on the cover and thought: "He's a superhero alright, and apparently the kind that punches down walls, helps ladies cross streets, and all that getup, therefore this is CLEARLY a super hero game." So it might be possible to kill him off and let people assume he's just a mascot used until they get in game, I mean there's at least a hundred other characters on the original boxart and adverts that don't appear in game.

But I only speak for myself in the end there.

Some of the real challenges about killing off Statesman will include things like the power vacuum. With Statesman gone and Warburg reclaimed by the Rogue Isles, Recluse will probably decide now's a good time to declare war on the U.S. while it's still fighting a two front battle.* Not to mention there will be the need to shuffle around the Phalanx's roster a little, possibly BaB becoming a fulltime member. (And hopefully rerolled into Street Justice and Willpower) And of course there's updating about 50% of content that makes reference to him, assuming the Devs don't do the lazy thing and just say: "He's only dead in any content released post the first SSA!" Because we were promised something big and world changing I believe.

*The Rikti seem to be concentrated on America, Praetoria's attacking, Warburg is/was actively at war with us, the Rogue Isles launched an invasion on American soil, this assumes America is not fighting in the Middle East in this timeline (rather generously), and I suppose we could lump the big, army villain groups together if you want and say it's another front America's fighting.

Not feeling the happiness here, nope.
Actually I think the last one is basically bull. We get it, you don't like her costume. It's a world of superheroes, they were there outfits how they want.

It's like complaining about Punky Brewster wearing two different color shoes. She could of worn the same shoes, but it wasn't her style. Not to mention the one bandana she wore on one leg.
Admittedly, yes. Besides, I already pointed out that the real problem with Desdemona isn't her fashion sense, it's that her only experience with leadership can be inferred that she uses demons as highly expendable soldiers with little concern for their well-being, wellfare, or personal motivations so long as they soak up hits for her.
(Do you really imagine her bandaging up her Demon Prince after a fight and cooing him softly and promising him the hurting will stop soon while slipping him some kind of abyssal morphine? Yeah, me neither.)

Mr. Yin, though he doesn't wear a resistance nametag, has probably been it's smartest leader by quietly trying to form the syndicate into a real force of opposition. But he's got plenty of other syndicate bosses who really just want to get back to shady business dealing. Penelope Yin may be a powerful psychic who's not really as insane as she seems (her dialog can be understood quite well once you figure out her code), but she is still a prisoner.

Primal Incarnates have accomplished more to damage the Cole regime in three battles (BAF, Lambda, and Keyes; I don't include UG since that was a bungled rescue attempt combined with gathering some information that is yet to be spread to the general population) than the homegrown resistance ever managed.
This actually brings in another player into the field, with Mother mayhem soon to be dead and the BAF having already been smashed, this does potentially mean Wu Yin will be free, and as mentioned, he was a pretty decent leader for his own group when they weren't back stabbing eachother.

Okay, so now we have three leaders on the CoL/Resistances side that are not horrible/are actually competent, and two of them are used to working with unruly and idiot members. Possibly four if Belladonna Vetrano is not as insane as Calvin Scott.
Though this also assumes Wu Yin would be sane after his stay in the BAF/not dead and assumes he was captured to begin with.

I should have mentioned, it's not an issue against girl power, it's that Vanessa seemed to be the only person who had some semblance of both sanity and real leadership skills.
But on second thought, Noble Savage and the Palatine should be with them too, so I suddenly feel a lot more assured.

A point there too. I mean one garter belt doesn't make her look sexy, it makes her look like a freakin' Philistine!
Worst of all, it's ASYMMETRICAL! But she would want that, wouldn't she? I bet that's what she hopes to accomplish
  24. Golden Girl, none of those people have demonstrated greater abilities besides raw psychic power, even then Aurora's power could not resist Tilman's, and I'm not sure how lucid Penny is, even then, she's had no real combat experience or leadership skill beyond serving as a contact.

And hell, Calvin Scott barely kept the Resistance together and his best tactic was "send out kids with bombs strapped to them to the hospitals! Suicide bombers are sure to send a message to Cole! Hahaha!" and he was apparently only able to lead the Resistance because DeVore was looking over his shoulder.
It makes me wonder why she let HIM lead the Resistance again and HOW has it held on for this long?
  25. Here's what I would like to see: The Well of Furies was actually stolen by Odin!
But not to keep us from becoming more powerful, but for bargain.

Odin will offer heroes and villains alike access to his mead halls, his training fields, and ultimately, even the power of the Well itself if we swear loyalty to him for the Battle of Ragnarok. (Which may or may not be the same as the Coming Storm, we all know Odin's pretty bad at understanding his own visions of the future)

It seems like a sweet deal, but villains are contacted by an entirely different Pantheon, the Goddess of Discord; Eris! In exchange for the help of villains to discreetly sabotage the Norse gods and trick Odin into isolating himself from others, she will reward you handsomely.

Meanwhile, heroes are called by Loki's wife, who has come to suspect her husband has been wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of Balder. And heroes must go behind the back of their grandfatherly patron to uncover the truth behind the assassination of the late god of light.

Incarnate level PVP, large scale battles with soldiers across eras, intrigue, and chaos abounds in City of Heroes: Freedom, Issue 23: Challenges of Valhalla.
