incarnate story and location of solo incarnate
The Rikti storyline is kind of played out at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrant was the one who took it, in order to ensure that nobody else could challenge him.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
Here's what I would like to see: The Well of Furies was actually stolen by Odin!
But not to keep us from becoming more powerful, but for bargain.
Odin will offer heroes and villains alike access to his mead halls, his training fields, and ultimately, even the power of the Well itself if we swear loyalty to him for the Battle of Ragnarok. (Which may or may not be the same as the Coming Storm, we all know Odin's pretty bad at understanding his own visions of the future)
It seems like a sweet deal, but villains are contacted by an entirely different Pantheon, the Goddess of Discord; Eris! In exchange for the help of villains to discreetly sabotage the Norse gods and trick Odin into isolating himself from others, she will reward you handsomely.
Meanwhile, heroes are called by Loki's wife, who has come to suspect her husband has been wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of Balder. And heroes must go behind the back of their grandfatherly patron to uncover the truth behind the assassination of the late god of light.
Incarnate level PVP, large scale battles with soldiers across eras, intrigue, and chaos abounds in City of Heroes: Freedom, Issue 23: Challenges of Valhalla.

Personally I always figured that the Well moved itself in order to prevent Rularuu gaining access to it. Admittedly this is making a few big assumptions (specifically that the Time Echoes are related to Shadow Shard Reflections) but it potentially ties the whole thing in with Rularuu and possibly The Coming Storm.
Of course this leaves open the question of The Letter Writer. We know that he was in that room at some point. But was she involved in moving the well? Or was he there as an observer? Or did she come along between the time when the Well was removed and when we turned up?

"Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn." Alfred Pennyworth
Ah. figured they weren't in the game currently ... if they're pre-existing ... I highly doubt they will make it in the game.

As far as your original post, "Why they attacked in the first place" is explained and played through in the RWZ arcs and LGTF, fairly well. I'd rather not have more lore twisted, shredded, spindled, folded and mutilated to have more Cow-Well.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
They're Norse mythology. They existed before... well, most modern nations. (All if you make it "Modern nations in currently recognizable form.") Surely you don't think Marvel came up with them?

I'm not saying CoH would be worried about being sued due to something being pre existing, because I knew they predated marvel, or any other comic book. What I'm saying is, CoH wants to create new stories, heroes, and villains.
I can understand why you don't want more thrown into the rikti pot. It was just something that I thought of and felt like voicing. I actually agree with you and don't want to mud up stories either.
Well of Furies was taken/moved. How about, the rikti stole it and took it to RWZ (The only real world hero and villain zone) to the mothership. That was why they've been trying to get it working all this time and why they attacked in the first place.
Thoughts?
oops ... forgot about first ward ... storyline probably goes there.
