    I would think that it is best for corrs (non-solo) since the heals and stuff give yourself more damage. For MMs it's like only giving 1/8 of the buff and 1x the buff for the other powers.
  3. Castle would probably put the -regen in impale. It would make a nice buff to the power though.

    Hmm...giving energy build up in addition to powerboost, higher base damage attacks, and AoE capability. Sorry, but that seems broken to me. I think the powerbuild up would be great though.

    I can't imagine the demons will be straight facsimiles of existing demons in the game. They're more likely to create something original. And there are a *lot* of demons in mythology for them to draw upon.

    There are also a lot of combos they could use between melee/ranged - so it's anyone's guess what we'll see.

    I think necromancy supports this viewpoint well since they don't match existing enemies.
  8. I really enjoy my grav/ff. It has tools for solo and teaming. The stun in repulsion bomb is nice for stacking in pve on bosses. And singularity pretty much won't ever die nor yourself due to PFF and powerboosted defense bubbles combined with high resistance.
  9. I like the kb in thorn burst, it's nice for bosses and you can immediately follow up with ripper or some other melee attack. And the kb isn't that far.

    Gravity (Again)

    I think wormhole should have a bigger radius, it isn't THAT great. It has negatives like kb, awkwardness on teams (where'd the enemies go effect), and needing to be out of LoS. I'm 110% for toggling dimension shift and limiting it to a cap of 7. The increase in accuracy and control is offset by enemy limit and toggles can be detoggle through holds/stuns/sleep.
  11. Ok, I used wegame for the 3rd video. This time I made it of my grav/elec. I messed around w/ music and the sound is a little off (you have to adjust your volume during the video or it gets annoying...).

  13. Well...I made my first 2 videos and I would like feedback on how to make them better. I'm using fraps, zloth's demorecord player, CoV, and windows movie maker. I'm wondering how I can improve the quality of the picture since it looked MUCH better on windows movie maker. Also, I'm not sure how to get more songs for my videos, where could I find some at? I can't get the sound of CoV to appear on the videos either nor some of the attack animations. Does anyone know why some power animations show up and others don't? Also, I'm thinking of making a short story video, would that be better? Also, can you write your own demos? If so, how would you go about doing that? I'm on a very strict budget so if I have to buy something, please make it cheap.

    Yeah, it should be AA OR Shiver IMO since the -rech cap is -75% or something like that anyways.

    My notes:
    on artic air, you have no slotting advice
    on shiver your slotting advice is odd
    what are ice's weaknesses/strengths compared to other primaries
    what are fire's weaknesses/strengths compared to other secondaries
    flash freeze would need accuracy
    what about the long recharge of glacier?
    why recharge in jack frost?
    increasing damage 200% is an exaggeration for fiery embrace
    what's so bad about combustion?
    consume has base accuracy and would need slotting for accuracy
    explain how blazing bolt can quickly raise the domination bar and you should slot it 2 end redux if you're using it for that
    Your stars annoy me,
    blaze should only have 2 acc
    what about ice slick being able to be used out of line of sight?
    there is no talk about the inherent.

    Regarding the arguement of Defense vs. Resistance, all of the tests that indicate they are balanced are assuming one thing - hit points on par with a mid-level player. The henchmen have much less hit points than the players, so that one solid hit can kill a henchman where it would only wound a player. As a result, Resistance is definitely better. It prevents the one-shot kills. The lower the Hit Points the more important Resistance becomes. With 1000 Hit Points, sure they both average out. They take a 200 point damage and it will average. But if you have only 200 hit points, then they do NOT average out to be equal.

    I find from my teams that my MM can fight better than Dominators, equal with Stalkers and Corruptors, and not as good as a well-played Brute. Brutes are the combat kings as far as I can tell, but I like my MM - it is very fun to play.

    Now if they would only fix the cape mission...

    That's actually the reason to go with defense. Even if you give them 50% resistance they will STILL be 1 shotted. Give them 100% defense and they will only be touched at most 1/20 times.

    Ok, so a few minutes ago I got done doing my 4th ITF run (1 was w/ my plant/thorn dom) and I'd like to share some info that merc/TA and similar playing characters (bot/TAs) might find useful also.

    Tip 1: Romans like to gather around melee characters. Wait until they have all gathered before trying to slow them, then release w/ the AoEs. Otherwise you might end up w/ too much aggro and the enemies will spread out. The taunt from the auras only last so long, so they should get back into the aura as quickly as possible.

    Tip 2: Oil Slick can be used before enemies arrive! This way if enemies arrive, they'll be slowed down by the oil slick and glue arrow (which you placed on the oil slick target) and group together for a nice barbeque. You can add disruption arrow on top if you want. This is for when you know ambushes are coming (crystal explosions).

    Tip 3: There are too many Romans! Tired of trying to click through all those Romans to try to click on Oil Slick to light it? Well then try this macro: /macro OSA "targetcustomnext Oil Slick Arrow$$powexecname Apprentice Charm". I use apprentice charm to light mine, but you can substitute it for w/e you light OSA with. (please tell me you don't only use commando).

    Tip 4: Hold Surgeons. They heal and are annoying. Use Ice Arrow.

    Tip 5: Flash Arrow Patrols. It can get very hetic if you allow too many patrols to attack you at once. 2-3 is fine, but 4 and even the awesomeness of merc/TA might fail.

    Tip 6: When you have to attack Romulus and need to seperate him from his healers use Oil Slick Arrow! The nicti are afraid of Oil Slick Arrow and will fly off while you keep Romulus immobed in the oil! This also does tremendous damage to the nicti (lesser bound) and Romulus and it'll make it easier to kill them off.

    Tip 7: BG mode often or you will be (what appears to be) 1 shotted by a minotaur because you stepped in a fire patch.

    Use goto to get your pets out of AoE range, then taunt (I recommend picking up provoke or challenge). This way you can handle the damage and protect your pets from harm. This is very effective against very hard single targets like AVs or EBs. Medic can provide you with mez protection if you get mezzed so don't worry too much about that. Gunslinger bosses piss me off. Even tankermind won't help. Use your holds and disorients from spec ops and ice arrow+PPP hold can keep him from tping away.

    I'm suprised Thorn Barrage is bad, I figured it would be comparable with Throw Spines, which was one of my favorite attack powers with my scrapper.

    Thorn barrage is actually pretty good. I think I corrected that in the later posts (can't edit. ). For elite bosses @ 34, you'd want to keep them held by applying as many holds as possible while using fly trap to wittle him/her down. If it has PToD (purple triangles of doom makes them pretty much immune to control) then use inspirations.
