Tenebrous Tentacles doesn't stop KB, so it won't make a difference with Storm.

Storm/Ice/Dark is an excellent choice, mainly because Soul Drain and Freezing Rain are both awesome with rain powers, Dark Consumption is awesome with Blizzard, and Thunder Clap is awesome with Oppressive Gloom like you said.
  2. Sets with damage auras benefit the most from Kinetic Melee, but since Stalkers don't have any of those Ninjitsu is the best simply because it's Ninjitsu.
  3. Burn recharges 3 times as fast as Shield Charge.
Shield Charge hits 3 times as many targets as Burn.

Conclusion: SC is the Minion destroyer, and Burn is the LT/Boss melter.

Synergy with Elec Melee: SC coupled with LR can decimate the LT's and Minions very fast.

Burn can be used in a single target attack chain(works better for Brutes).
Shield Charge can KD the spawn.

Conclusion: Burn contributes more DPS, and SC contributes more survivability.

Synergy with Elec Melee: If you couple Shield Charge and Lightning Rod the KD goes to waste, while Burn gives Elec Melee(which has low DPS) a welcome DPS increase.
  4. Here's what I would do:

You get a travel power, solid draining capabilities, another AoE attack, Power Surge, more recharge debuff resistance, and finally a neat attack chain in Jab-Haymaker-Mu Lightning-KOB-Haymaker-Mu Lightning. The only thing I see missing is the FF +rech proc, but it's not that important if you have spiritual.

As for Destiny, it is not affected by the recharge portion of Spiritual, but it is affected by the Heal which gives you a very significant increase to HP/Sec should you choose Rebirth Radial.

This, also remember bruising is a significant contribution to team DPS, so even if your DPS isn't top notch staying in melee is a solid way to go if you're softcapped.

As for 45% to all positionals, it would be very difficult to obtain and many sacrifices would likely be needed.
  8. Yep, Stalker>Scrapper>Brute due to the reasons mentioned above.

  10. First rule is to have a teammate stack 100 magnitude of mez protection on you. Then you can choose between these two:

    DPS method:

    1. Keep your Ranged/AoE or NE defense softcapped through the use of teammates/IO's/purple insps.

    2. Get in close and whack away

    Safety method:

    1. Keep her immobilized

    2. Stay at long range and taunt
  11. I can't really imagine pixies as front-line warriors, more like graceful attackers who keep their range.

I think an Ill/Rad controller fits the whole rainbow pixie mold quite well. Light based trickery, and you can color your radiation debuff toggles in R/G/B/Y for the rainbow effect.

Well, it can't fit in an attack chain, it can't fit a purple proc, and it can't fit a -res proc.

The only sets available to SD that significantly out-DPS BS with all the procs and top chain are DM which relies on having multiple targets around and has no -res procs, and FM+KM which have no -res procs.

I don't think it's that easy to have minions around either. It is time-consuming to gather them up(you'll also likely gather some dangerous bosses and LT's in the process unless you spend extra time killing them), and on teams/leagues you can't rely on the minions staying alive.

If it's just the AV boosting the damage, it's probably not enough to pull you ahead.

Change quickness to an AoE affect, but hopefully lowering the costs so that the overall endurance drain is the same. Basically, it would act as an aggro aura, and provide a boost to recharge, damage, and regeneration for each enemy hit. I think this would bring some offensive ability to SR, but also make it a higher level defensive set, though still below the best sets. For those that liked the old quickness, I would leave the old option in the set, and make that power a branching choice (ie choose one or the other, like VEATs).
While I wouldn't stand in the way of an SR buff, I'm not convinced it needs one either. SD is the main competitor of SR, and it has no access to top DPS sets like Dual Blades and Katana. It also requires more investment to softcap, some of which could be spent on pumping more damage into the build.

I can imagine a DB/SR out-DPS'ing a BS/SD in many situations, particularly those that don't surround you with enemies. SD will be more survivable of course, but not by a lot considering SD draws aggro like crazy.
  16. If you still feeling like spending after you get the +Def PVP IO, you could then go for the S/L hardcap.

Or you could just rely on oranges and empowerment buffs.
  17. You do have CoF's -ToHit as a consolation prize, though.
  18. As an afterthought, the differences between Dark Blast and CB are quite minor. It's a better idea to get Water Spout or even Melt Armor instead.

For a scrapper I would stick with the standard CI>CB>JL>CB, as you will get slightly higher dps than with dark blast added in (and the same number of purple proc activations if you have Hecatomb's in CB as you should). Keep in mind Dark Blast in Mids shows its critical damage.
I believe Mids(at least the updated version) gives the correct values for Dark Blast from Darkness Mastery, and it has better DPA than CB.
  20. Don't expect to win any DPS contests with Elec Melee, but it can be sufficient at the top levels and the AoE is very good. I do find Elec Melee better on stalkers though, as you become a burst damage beast with both AS and LR(which doesn't break hide).

  22. Fun stuff, and even though it could take an hour or so it keeps you on your toes.

Yep, I did it at +4x8 with bosses in an hour, with the use of insps and incarnate powers.

So yeah, Rebirth is plenty for most things most of the time.

Using the same basic template that had Katana doing 242 DPS, Dual Blades ended up with the exact same number. Now, that's pre-incarnate powers, and with Spiritual you can get the Dual Blades damage up a little higher (249 DPS) since the top chain tops out at +314% recharge, which I wasn't achieving.

Both should benefit about the same from Interface, as both top chains put out four attacks in 4.5 seconds. The Katana chain gets a little more -resistance than the Dual Blades chain, so probably gets a hair more out of Interface damage, but it's hardly a deciding factor.

Maybe I should say more about front-loading damage. A long time ago, I was comparing a Broad Sword build to a Dual Blades build. I'm kind of making up numbers since I don't remember exactly, but I think the Broad Sword build did around 175 DPS, and the Dual Blades build did around 225 DPS. The thing is, Broad Sword was ahead on damage for the first 15 or so seconds of the fight despite a 50 DPS deficit. If we're talking about a mere 7 DPS deficit, I think we'd find that the Katana damage is ahead of Dual Blades for a very long time indeed. Front loaded damage is also better at taking out threats in a spawn, improving survivability.

In practice, though, it would probably be pretty hard to notice the difference just based on performance. Both would tear through spawns quickly. Both would eliminate dangerous mobs quickly.

Actually, it's kind of shocking to me how well-balanced power sets remain even with top end builds. I know the devs have had seven years to iron all this out, but I'm still impressed.
That's strange, Musculature gives me more DPS than Spiritual does. Did you use the build I posted? It has more recharge than the Katana one.

And yes, I was quite impressed as well at how balanced things are at the top-end.

I like Dual Blades, but also for consideration is Katana, which pumps out equivalent DPS at lower recharge, freeing up other aspects of your build, plus Build Up means the damage is more front-loaded. Divine Avalanche can also make for smoother leveling. Dual Blades, though, has a cone as part of its DPS chain, which is an advantage for taking down whole spawns, so I'd say it puts out more damage in practice.

But then, if you want to take spawns apart quickly, you can always go with something like Spines or Electric.

Really, one nice thing about Super Reflexes is that as long as you're willing to take Aid Self, it doesn't need anything from the primary, and you can pretty much pick whatever primary satisfies your other goals for the build.
You don't even need Aid Self anymore if you take Rebirth(radial).

And yeah, Katana is great but DB does more damage over time. What I recently noticed thanks to you is how much DPS gets lowered due to the cast time of powers like BU. The extra cast time every 30 seconds or so is something that DB is unhindered by, making its already superior DPS even better.

It does, but once you divide the damage by its activation time and compare it with Havoc Punch the difference becomes clear. And like I said, you can slot great procs into it.
