Pretty sure it's aimed at EVERYONE and is pretty sound advice.
With the way GMs/CS have been going about, I WOULD NOT want to give them a reason to think that you are trying to fool around with them.
I would not mind losing an arc or even a slot.
Logically I think most would NOT want to lose their ability to use the MA at all, or even their ACCOUNT.
Just saying.
tl;dr: Don't F&*K with the CS/GMs. -

Note that with Issue 15, this will no longer be necessary, since you'll have the option of making sure your bosses don't spawn unless you actually place them.

I am curious, I have read some of the threads regarding ratings griefers and came upon the "zero star" issue.
Is it a zero star given in this scenario:
Bob goes into mission architect and chooses a mission to try. Real life interrupts him and he has to log.
About a week later bob logs in and sees he is on a MA mission. However, Bob logged in to play with Neil and Neil doesn't want to do MA arcs.
Bob quits the arc and doesnt rate it because he has not played it and doesnt want to rate it blindly.
/End Scenario
Did Bob just zero star someone by not giving a rating?
[/ QUOTE ]
NO.
You have to actively double click the 1 star to make it a zero.
if it's zeroing just be quitting, /bug it. -

You really don't understand the characteristics of a farm. I can farm Johnny Sonata easily and profitably.
[/ QUOTE ]
A Farm in my eyes is something where the benefit/risk ratio is seriously and/or intentionally out of wack.
You can grind Johnny Sonata easily and profitably, but so you could a lot of content (like I did in olden days the south of Skyway or Brickstown)
That doesn't make it a farm in my view - but to each his own definition I guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except by the devs definition that IS farming. Buuuut. . . here's the key, you are not exploiting anything and it's NOT in the MA. That's the difference.
Intent was mentioned by Castle a while ago. I'll have to find the post. -

2) Make it so arcs must be finished to be rated.
[/ QUOTE ]
I totally agree with this one. I really don't see why this wasn't implemented from the start. I can understand people might think something sucks so bad at the start, but maybe it gets better, or maybe it sucks all the way through, but you should have to have seen all of it to rate it.
If the devs want to make it so people who don't or can't finish want a say, they should add a completed vs. not completed field and a mandatory comment if you want your incomplete logged. Like bosses impossible for solo defender or arch villain in the first room made it impossible for even a purpled brute to get through. Or something like that so that it can be properly evaluated (even if the comment is anonymous).
Yes it would require a little more effort on the part of the devs, but if they really want to make this work they need to put it more effort.
Taking away the badges won't solve the problem because the problem is not the badges, it's the rating system, the reporting system and the inability for individuals to log a public comment or review in the game itself for an arc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Best suggestion.
I would definelty mark up why I couldn't finish a missh in this way. I think THAT would help authors also. -

Here's the thing: So much has changed in CoX since it was released that it's nearly impossible for them to have put out a complete documentation guide that encompasses it all. If you look at other games, you will find that as the game goes on for 2, 3, 5 years, rules change. Sadly the standard remains that it is up to the player to stay abreast of the rules.
That said, I got a big "hey, you all need to know this" when I logged in last week. Something about veteran awards. They could have very easily created a similar popup to say "hey, you all need to go to the forum and look at the rules changes to AE missions".
As for sussing out the Mission specifics, welcome MMO's. For many the discovering of the rules is part of the fun....
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually there is a an Architect contact that gives info in game, so the basic rules are there.
But I agree a popup should have been placed in game, like you said, relating to CHANGES to the rules. -

Also, I don't like the idea of Redside having as many zones as Blueside, namely because, while I admit to being more of a blueside player (though I do play redside), one of the draws for redside to me, is the less zones.
I do think Redside needs a lvl 25-30 SF. And I would love it if redside got access to the Shadow Shard.
[/ QUOTE ]
*More* zones is not the same as "As many as blueside." It's "More than the piddly number there now, for more visual and gameplay variety."
[/ QUOTE ]
If by zones you mean like some with STORY arcs sure. If you mean empty husks like hazzard zones or the shard, hell [censored] no.
With that said I would not mind new zones if each new zone has at least 5-6 FULL story arcs. -

OK having looked over Heaven's Agent's review of the arc, and seeing what ludicrous things he's docking stars for, I'm absolutely convinced he's just a troll - nobody can actually be this petty and overanalytical and be serious about it.
Some highlights include (paraphrased, and this is only a handful of them):
"Arc did not go in depth to explain every nuance of Red Shift's time travel plugging all possible interpretations of it against possible plot holes by over analysis of the arc"
[/ QUOTE ]
After I read this, I couldn't believe a word you said.
You start off by saying that you may paraphrase BUT everything you attribute to Heaven is in QUOTES. Quotes mean that something ISN'T paraphrased.
So I don't believe you when you say Heaven "griefed" this arc because it didn't meet EVERY NUANCE and ALL POSSIBLE INTERPERTATIONS ... and OVER ANALYSIS ...
I believe those are your words, not his, that you're placing in HIS quotes.
And if you can't believe the messenger, you can't believe the message.
The fact that you and your SG all played and loved an arc doesn't mean that everyone else will - or should. The intensity of your anger at Heaven for what is, basically, his opinion leads me to believe that you are NOT some disinterested party defending a stranger's MArc.
Don't know what your hidden agenda is, but I don't believe a word you say.

Miss_Blue had a resolution issue that affected her client. She probably didn't even really need to reinstall, but double check that the resolution didn't reset back to safe mode defaults.
Yours is a scaling issue which is saved in your character data. That's why it follows you wherever you go. I'd like a screen shot to see how bad it actually looks. A scale command (/windowscale tray 1.00) should fix it for you. I don't understand why it's not... did you get a response from support yet? Have you tried the scaling sliders in your options as well?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hate to say it, but could it be a data corruption problem on the character? I've seen that command you posted work every time something like this comes up on some of my friends characters. -

As heat builds up a powersupply become less efficient than when the air is cool ( meaning less available power ). Thusly it is most likely still your powersupply becoming unstable. It could also be a combo of both the powersupply and a heat issue...... the thing is you are gonna need a new powersupply anyway. That system has been over taxing the one in there for far too long to not have caused damage. The recomendations on that video card alone are for a 350 watt powersupply with at least 18 amps on the +12 volt rail. yours provides only 16 amps.
You are bearly squeeking by on the wattage but more importantly your over taxing the amperage with the video card by itself. This will cause a large amount of extra heat to be produced as the powersupply tries to keep up. Also the graphical elements in this game have become a nightmare with the last two issues ( not that they werent already ). Which means more heat from the video card. CoX is known to bring top of the line systems to their knees when they play all other current graphics rich games fine. Replacing that powersupply should be your first order of buisness. Just outa curiosity, were you playing the game when it crashed most recently and were you playing longer than when you had the other HDD hooked up?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is an issue.
I don't get why CoX is so graphic intensive. IMO it's not even top of the line graphics among MMOs anymore.
Doesn't take away from your VERY SOUND advice, but it's just frustrating about this game's graphics. Which are no longer all that hot compared to other games out there. -

I'm sure most of us would prefer an "anti-gravity" slider for this in real life.

As I see it the easiest way to reduce the amount of Inf in the system is simply to lower the amount that the uber-rich can earn. . Since many more times the Inf can be earned in the Market than actual play I feel this is where it needs to begin.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your TL;DR version sums up a massive and (IMO, pretty inexcusable) lack of understanding of what the market does.
The market doesn't create any Inf. It doesn't add inf to the system at all. The only things it does is move inf around and delete 10% of it while doing so.
Making it so being uber-rich can't be attained on the market essentially guarantees that most inf will be laying around on whatever characters earn it. Note that this does nothing to stop the existence of the uber-rich. Instead, what it does is limit the ability of people who can't play thier [censored] off to become uber rich through the shuttling of money. The uber-rich will still exist - they'll just be the people who log tons of time in game. Things like having mutliple accounts or spending time farming will be the premier ways to make money since you can't concentrate wealth from other players.
Consider that every 50 in the game that plays 100 hours at level 50 probably creates a bare minimum of 100M inf. If there were only 1000 level 50s played 100 hours this way, that would be 100B inf in the system. If I can use the market to earn just 1M inf from each of those 1000 players, I end up with 1B inf (900M after market fees) and they all are left with 99M. No one got scalped, and I got way rich.
There's too much emotion-laden focus on people who get like 100M per sale on something, as if that's the only way to get rich in this game. It's not.
Fundamentally, you want the market to be a store. You believe that inventions should be provided to anyone who asks for them. This overlooks the notion of IOs as alternative progress for characters. They are not something that everyone is supposed to automatically attain simply by asking the interface for them. They are intended to be something attained through effort and play. Whether that effort is spent at the market or through long hours of play isn't particularly relevant - what matters is that it takes personal investment in some activity to attain it. The devs need us to spend calendar time on that investment. They don't care if we're logged in or not, just whether we're engaged enough to stay subscribed. I guarantee you that chasing IOs is keeping a subset of the playerbase engaged and hanging around.
I am not a "marketeer" in the sense that I rarely ever flip anything. I track the market fairly closely and I sell drops and buy shinies as smartly as I can. I have 5B inf on my villains and around 3 on my heroes. Even if we accept that inventions are now a pervasive part of the game (hard for me to accept since they are still not required), my own experience allows me to categorically reject the notion that we have to become marketeers to get rich enough to by damn near anything. Nor do we have to suffer unduly because of those marketeers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Best post I've seen in the market forums for a while.
I can't believe that there is still this fundamental lack of understanding about inf earning and the market that you responded to.
Then, again now that I think about it, doesn't surprise me at all that some still think the market plays a sig part in inf generation or is necessary to advance. -

There are a lot of ways you can build your Psy Blaster so don't get caught trying to go with one way and one way only. Next to Ice/Elec I think Psy/Mental is the most fun Blaster to play and extremely deadly if made to suit your playstyle.

I think the issue is when comparing it to OTHER pairings, which have last resisted damage, Psy is pretty lackluster. -
