Looks impressive to me. Does it still FAIL just cause it's under DELL?

(I've never had issues with Dells, but some have from what I've read here and other places.)

do NOT buy an alienware laptop, they look gorgeous at the start but have very short lifespans. there fans suck for all the power they put out and if your going to be having long gaming sessions, BAD idea. (yes i know from experience i know play on a macbook, not even a pro and it handles it just as well with a lil more lag in zone events)

I had an alienware laptop ( area 51-m if I remember well) and the motherboard fired after 6months...

To be honest I thought so too upon reading.

Thought I would be the only one and called out for "not being hardcore enough" if I had said so.

So why was alienware ever so impressive again?

The funny thing is that most laptops are produced by only a few manufacturers and are simply rebranded and given visual omph by the retailer. Alienware for instance used Sager laptops ( not sure if its still true ) as the base of their machines.
If you pay full price then you didn't shop around hard enough . If your looking for a laptop for gaming this site is a good start. Powernotebooks

The last Alienware I got was an M9750. Great computer.. but that was the last time I dropped more than 2.5K on a laptop.. I *was* going to get another one, but then i discovered my Gateway P-7805 U FX... and its one mean machine for the price that would've cost me about $2,000 more with Alienware. And I haven't had any problems with it.. so yeah. Not buying one again.
