Awesome story-focused arc yay, then - ow.

I so often play really enjoyable story-focused arcs which grip me and have me smiling all the way through, and then, in the last mission, out comes an EB who I cant solo.
Is the MA capable of making an arc thats a challenge for a team and also a challenge solo, but beatable by both?
I design myarcs for solo players, and i state that clearly in the descriptions.
Does anyone who has experience with setting their arcs for both teams and solo have any comments?

For American Welcome I had an EB at the end but I also gave the player 3 boss level allies to help them get there. Based on some feedback I rolled them down to LT's but my worry now is that the end boss isn't solo-able anymore.
Here's the thing:
Let's say you make a group and populate it with minions, Lt's and bosses. Then you want an official "end boss" who looks unique compared to the other bosses in your villan group. If you put him in that group and make him a boss, then he might spawn earlier, or even several times, in the mission. So your choices are:
a) Make them an elite boss, thus they only spawn in the climactic final battle
b) Put them in their own seperate "boss group".
I think that most people go with the EB option because it's easier to organize and it's one less custom group to keep track of. However I think that either option is viable, and in my case I also knew that the player should have at least one ally by the time they reached the final boss. I'll have to retest it on solo to be sure it's do-able.

Note that with Issue 15, this will no longer be necessary, since you'll have the option of making sure your bosses don't spawn unless you actually place them.

That will be a great help for me. As it is now, I have my main boss in a group by himself (Leader of the Demon Spawn). My other minor bosses are in a group of their own, too (Demon Spawn Boss). But I can see that that could be a problem when people play my missions on higher difficulty settings, since there are several 'minor' bosses in that group. I can't wait for an option that will let me set the boss to only spawn once per mission. I couldn't figure out how to name a separate group for each boss the way it works now.

I always used option simply for story reasons. If a mission in an arc had a goal like "Defeat Sideshow Sally" it would ruin the story if you ran into and defeated her ten times before you got to the "real" one.
