I have it slotted with obliteration and I can tell you right now it isn't recieiving the bonuses to accuracy. Not in any visable way and in a purely subjective way it misses more often than it hits.

I love the change I just want to see it fixed.
  2. Okay I have been playing my Spines/Fire a lot since i18 because of the burn changes but I noticed something immediatly...Burn was missing now. So I immediatly assume I can now slot it for accuracy right? Well...I can't. Then I look into it and see brutes and tankers can now slot it for accuracy. So I sent in a petition thinking it was a buy and I got the response, "Please bring all questions to the player question forums, thank you have a good day!" Which has nothing at all to do with me sending a message that says, "Scrapper's Burn is not accepting accuracy enhancements like the Brute and Tanker version."

So I guess my question is...is this a bug or did the Devs just decide to screw over Scrappers with this change?
  3. Yeah that is exactly what they are. But you know...at least it is SOMETHING to do as we wait for the next issue....
  4. I haven't deleted a 50 yet but I am strongly leaning towards it with my Grav/Psi Dom...just so...bad....
  5. You probably should have asked for the star back after he invited his buddy.

But yeah there are some real idiots out there and that sucks that you had to deal with that. Good to hear that some of the guys had the decency to drop with you even after going through half of the TF.

This pretty much. There isn't anything a stalker brings to a team like the other ATs bring something. That being said I would never NOT invite a stalker to a team just because it was a stalker. Most of my high level villains are stalkers at that.

Point is, threat removal? Dominator. ST damage? ....Almost any villain AT. Stealth? Anyone with the concealment power pool.

It is. It completly is. But the question ask for a subjective answer, what our opinions of the server is. I wont say that the D has no good RPers but by and large they keep to themselves and they aren't really open to random people steping in, WITH GOOD REASON mind you, so yeah...

As I said in the begining I am playing the devil's advocate. If I wasn't happy on Virtue I wouldn't be here.

Alright, but that isn't what I said. My point is if you are looking for good RP you probably wont find it in the D.

    To the original poster:

Bottom line is, if you absolutely loathe RP and cannot stand it, Virtue might not be the place for you. If you can tolerate it, or maybe even would like to give it a shot, hop on board! Virtue is pretty packed, which means you're bound to find -some- people who share your tastes in anything. There are also tons of events and a very wonderful community in this server.

Also, my rule of thumb: never judge a server by its cov-...err...forum community!

Well the thing about avoiding bad RP is that, MOST RP is bad RP. Seriously is it not something to phone home about when you get some decent RP in the D? Maybe I just measure the value of RP differently but to me the D is like a cesspool, I go there to mostly get some laughs while I work on an AE arc.

The only way to get really meaningful RP is to join a SG, the problem with that is most RPSGs and VGs I have joined have a leader who the entire group revolves around.

That and the community in this game isn't as inclusive as people would like to think. The population has been in steady decline and because of it people are becoming more and more insular, not hostile, but less out going.
  11. Since everyone has given you the run down of what is good about the server I am gonna plays devil advocate here and tell you the biggest down sides...

Virtue is great and all but here, there is a really bad case of entitlement and drama. I attribute this to RP because some people get REALLY into their characters and I mean creepy levels of into it. So if you don't act like their character is god and the best thing ever they will hate you. Drama comes in all parts of an MMO but the added drama of the above said RP side is just something Virtue has alone. Of course someone will jump on me saying, "I have never seen this, so you are wrong." My point is it DOES happen and it MIGHT affect you. If you do not RP well then you wont have to deal with it at all really, but you still might get pulled into it by making friends with someone who has made an enemy out of a "popular" RPer.

Also if you have a thing against cat girls, like me >_>..., you might feel the need to jump through the internet and throttle some people at some points during your Virtue career.
  12. I like how Ghost Falcon was the one to get chumped into going into the PvP section, anyone else find that a little funny?

Seriously though, it isn't a big deal that CoP wont bring base raids back but do you think ANY PvPers held the illusion that the dev team was working on anything to help us?
  13. QR:

So CoP is coming back but the way to improve it is to remove all PvP aspects to it when that was part of its original purpose? Okay. I can live with that. 24 people? Does anyone else realize that this means for the most part this will never be done past a couple of weeks past release? 24 people...Considering the merit reward rate this probably wont give enough for people to really want to try all that hard at it. But people still do Hami so I might be wrong but I am rather cynical.

The best part is still the combined auction houses without a doubt. Tip missions sound awsome, unless they are like paper missions within paper missions >_>...

Lift animates faster, does more damage, does smashing damage (for bots), has soft control, and will recharge fast with perma-hasten. Psi-dart is the brawl of your dom powers. As soon as you get better options... dump it!

From the looks of your build are you going for a mix of range, and melee? I'd consider dumping TK thrust too for Mental Blast, but that's just me. I'd dump Crushing Field or fill it with procs instead of set bonuses. Though if you are really wanting damage forget procs in that power, and just pick up Dark Obliteration. You won't need Dark Consumption with Drain Psyche, and Perma-Dom.

I'm sure someone will also point out with that much recharge (perma-hasten as the goal) that Stamina isn't needed. Drain Psyche can recharge fast enough, and the dom button is also an end refill. I happen to have Stamina with my Mind/Psi (ducks), but it's not slotted. It's there for concept, lack of desire to mule defense sets for LoTG's, and the rare times I want less downtime (like me not watching my recovery monitor to notice DP has dropped! hah!).

I could go on, but with my few suggestions you can free up some powers/slots for new damage options. There are still plenty of IO's to get you the recharge you want.
Well my main question wasn't really is prema-dom worth it, it was is THIS build worth the effort or should I roll another Dom, a non-Grav Dom. Good call on lift, I hadn't though of that...As far as ranged/melee I prefer melee powers because they require me to be move...I don't know, active? That is why I took TK over Mental Blast. Crushing field I took for the 10% recharge PLUS it comes in handy after using Worm Hole to stop them from splitting so PSW and Psychic Scream.

As far as Drain Psyche and Dark Consumption, Drain Psyche is always going to be apart of the build for regen not recovery. Dark Consumption I took because I wouldn't need to slot it and it was effective with just one Acc IO as opposed to Obliteration.

Stamina is a must for me, I HATE having to worry wether or not I will have the endurance to do what I need to. I have never played a perma-dom so my mind might change when I finally get to that point.
  15. So I have had my first 50 villain sitting on the shelf for awhile now and I decided to buy him a server transfer and renew my love for all things Dominator. I understand that building for perma-hasten is very pricey and will take me a long time BUT before I begin this journey I want to know if it will be worth it.

    This is my projected build...

I want some feedback as to wether this will be good or not for a general use Dominator, one who I plan on solo farming with.
  16. I have to agree with some of the above posters, here comes another Q&A where nothing new gets answered and they rehash all their old announcements in case we missed them the first time.

    Why?

Acting like this doesn't help anything, or improve the game for anyone..and before anyone says.. "oh maybe the person was just having a bad day." Guess what...I don't really care what kind of day a stranger is having..no need to be rude to people you don't know. Badday rudeness is reserved for family, friends, and co-workers...and its better off that way because they will /hopefully/ forgive you.

Sorry for the random vent..just wanted to put that out there. I'll try to keep my rants to myself in the future:P
    My response?

Well little bitchy wanna-be vampire/futa/demons don't exist in the game so you can go dive into a wood chipper.

Seriously I know the feeling, I have a character that I created to be an important part of a large coporation. Well rather than god modding and placing myself as the leader of Crey when there is already a very specific hierarchy to the group I created my own. When I was just hanging out with some friends in the D for like five minutes I got a tell saying, "Your character isn't cannon so I am putting you on ignore." ...Really? You HAD to tell me that? Not like you could have just done it, which is mind blowing in itself, but you HAD to go out of the way to make sure I KNOW what you are doing? Sorry but there is a certain level of ego I will accept from people before I rage and hover over the button to cancel my subsribtion and every day this game goes on it seems to be happening more and more.

I've played on Liberty, Freedom, and now Virtue.

Freedom= High population with little character.
Virtue= High population with a lot of character, both good and bad.

With this I now have a perma-hasten but not as much defense as I would like but a decent amount of resistance. As for heavy slotting of Sniper Rifle, as I said I like the power I use it a lot not just to start battles even because if I knock an enemy down plus hit them with Darkest Night chances are I can unload it during a fight, plus a during a TF scourging that on an AV is a nice chunk of damage.
  21. Ok. I am trying to build a decent all around Corruptor for general play and I have him as a concept character so to shoot down the first bit of advice I will get, I wont reroll away from AR/ :P. Second I personally enjoy Sniper Rifle so I would like to keep it, but it is not the end of the world if there is something I crucialy need to replace it with. This is the build I have working thus far...

I would really appreciate some feedback.
  22. I love every bit of this idea, I am full heartedly behind this! And I agree completly with the above posters THIS is the way to make PvP more fun for people, not heavy handed sweeping changes to the system.

Also, this is the longest a PvP suggestion thread has gone without flaming.
  23. This is a quick response, sorry I do not have time to read the entire thread.

On the topic of PvP, if that is a big deal to you this game will not be your friend. I have been with this game for about four and a half years now and I have played many other MMOs. The Devs treatment of PvP in this game has been horribly subpar, do not expect a great system. Recently they overhauled the system and created an abomination where nothing works the same as it does in PvE, all powers use different numbers. Some of the worse powers in PvE, AKA Flurry, is one of the best attacks in PvP.

This game is fun, I wouldn't play it if it wasn't, but the PvP has been butchered by heavy handed sweeping changes that all decent feedback from core PvP groups was ignored.

If you are looking for a game with a rather inviting, but wildly unstable, community and great PvE content that gives you plenty to do with your character it is a great game. If you are looking for decent PvP I suggest you move on and give other games a try because you wont find it here.
  24. Suprise suprise this game still has a portion of its community that want to ruin other peoples fun because all that matters is what they want...And I am not talking about PvPers. I am really tired of PvP hate in this game, you guys already pushed i13 on us what more do you want?

More on topic, I agree badge hunting and PvP don't mix. But Badges and PvP do. I am just as entitled as everyone else to be rewarded for PvPing, badges included. You don't NEED badges, you want them and if they are in a PvP zone they ARE PvP content. No you don't need to PvP to get them but getting them has the inherient risk of PvP. If you are there for the badge and the badge only and you will scream bloody murder at anyone who attacks you I think the problem lies with you. I know someone is going to ask if I get enjoyment out of killing someone who only runs then yes, yes I do. Why? Because it gives me a chance to practice my skills, the mere act of running is PvP. PvPers run from a fight they know they are going to lose so it is in my best interest to know everything I can do to stop them from getting away. A badger running is practice and yes that is a very blunt way to look at it but still as everyone has pointed out I get rep, inf, and I could possibly get a IO that sells for billions out of it.

Also, I think Bill is answering your questions very well the thing is, he is answering them by taking out the hypothetical situation you present that sets up for an answer you expect. All the questions you people are asking beg an answer that fits your agenda but the core of your question, which he is answering, doesn't.

Seriously when I hear people complain about PvPers in PvP zone ruining their fun I just laugh because if I could I would level 1-50 in a PvP zone but it is never going to happen. But YOU can by doing what you love, so how is that FAIR? I wish I could fully IO out my character with PvP but it will never happen, market aside, so how is that FAIR? It isn't fair but I don't complain about it because you know what? It wont kill me not being able to do those things, just like it wont kill you to not get every single badge in the game. I HATE leveling in this game but I do it so I can PvP on new characters all the time and have what I consider fun.

No ones right to fun out weighs anyone elses and no a PvPer attacking you in a PvP zone is not out weighing your fun it is you smashing yourself in the knee with a hammer, if you don't like it stop subjecting yourself to it. If it doesn't kill you and you can stomach it then by all means keep going. How many of you say you have gone and gotten all these badges and rewards? OBVIOUSLY it's not so big a deal that you wont do it, you just want it easier on you at the expense of PvPers.

    EDIT: For clarification.

As a pre-i13 member of Renegades/Bedlam from Freedom/Liberty and an out spoken hater of i13 PvP and one of those who swore off PvP for the rest of my CoX career...

I recently started PvPing again because I just can't stop...

Point is, I will be very happy to join and help as I can now. My new take is if enough people get into PvP we can then turn them against the devs and over throw i13!...What?
