The official rules link goes to the main site's announcement of this, as does the rules link on the main site's announcement (never mind, the main page's news goes to the right spot now).

Rather late announcement on the official rules for those using the snail mail option. Having to be received by this Friday and being posted after mail has been picked up in most of the US leaves one little choice but to pay a high price for guaranteed next day delivery.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I have a feeling that this will be like the last "Q&A", where most of the time, the incredibly stupid questions were answered and that the Devs can't even answer the questions we really want due to numerous issues. That and they can only answer questions that, "they know the answer too on short notice."

I'm sorry, but after that last crapfest of the so called, Q&A, consider me pessimistic about this one.

Watch, I can guarantee some moron will ask, "Dur, when's Going Rogue coming out and how many zones will their be?!"

When they should really be asking, "Will you be able to leave Praetoria and explore the area outside of it at one point, or will we only be able to stay in Praetoria when visiting that dimension?"

(Yes, I know I could've had a better example, but it's all I could think of at the moment." -_-;

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

It's a huge step forward from "United States (except Rhode Island and some others) and Canada (except Quebec) only", which was their modus operandi for years.

Incidentally, why the heck is Rhode Island excepted? Poking around the interwebs doesn't tell me why Rhodesians can't play, but maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms.

Because it's a colossal pain in the ***. Paragon Studios would have to pay a fee and register a permit to operate a contest in the state of Rhode Island for every single promotion they run. This is why they are better off giving things away, like costume codes and booster packs, rather than having them as contest items.

I have to agree with you. We have seen this time after time for the past 6 years. Yes, a better example is needed I really don't get interested in anything with City of Heroes until its released. We all see right through the unanswered questions, and the lame responses. I much rather hear " I'm sorry, I can't answer that". :P

What?? Wow, Rhode Island... way to take your three square miles of statehood and try to be a big man about it!

I have to agree with some of the above posters, here comes another Q&A where nothing new gets answered and they rehash all their old announcements in case we missed them the first time.

No relation to Arachnos!

Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

I look at it as an opportunity to TRY to get clarification of some things people are still confused about (did they mean THIS or did they really mean THAT).

Some people will likely try to use it as an excuse to drag out their current pet peeve that they've been hashing and rehashing in various threads until they get locked.

And of course some will ask the questions we already know the answer to (and have known for some time now) such as "if I switch from a hero to a villain, can I switch back?"

All we can do is put in sensible questions and hope they'll be answered in a clear manner.

That's because it's not for us. They can advertise it as if it was, but by and large it's not. It's for potential new players. So it's better to advertise and discuss all the things that will be selling points in GR, and not the little things that matter most to long-time players like us.

IE: We may know all about side-switching, but expect them to talk about it anyways--it's a major feature of GR.

Here's hoping for a few crumbs of stuff we'd actually find interesting.

Does anyone else find it ironic that this isn't available in RI, the home state of our fictional hometown?

So not really ironic, more pathetic of Rhode Island than anything.

I saw WHY. I just find it ironic.

I used to have to go to Rhode Island about once a month. If you want to really tick some of those folks off say, "Rhode Island? What state is that in anyway?" It helps if you can adopt an innocent tone too.

ZOMG! That's funny. I am so going to do that next time I go there!

I had a friend in the Marines with me that used to go back to his home town in Rhode Island every year to visit his family. Every year he would come back and complain that he was driving "half asleep" all the way through the state and would be twenty miles out the other side before he realised where he was. Apparently it was only a "short zone out" but twice as long as it needed to be to miss the state entirely.
