You can do as many tip missions as you like a day, you only get alignment point credit for five a day. So you can continue doing tips past five a day, but at that point you're not gaining anything toward alignment change or reaffirmation.

This is incorrect. I have been on raids that were not full, while people in global channels commented about waiting in the queue. The only time it adds members if it is under maximum is when the leader clicks to enter the queue. After the trial has officially started, no further members are added unless the league drops below the minimum. And only then if people have "join in progress" selected while waiting in the queue.

A hero archetype will always have access to their appropriate APP. A hero archetype has to be a villain to unlock PPPs (either post-Praetoria, or via alignment switching), but once they have been unlocked, that hero archetype will awlays have access to PPPs, even if they stop being a villain.

Can the NA folks answer the opposite question here?
This means I get 24 new, free slots, on servers with different peak hours so I might concentrate my daytime play to those servers. And there's 12 more slots on a server where I can practice my epicly rusty Deutsch (ich spreche nicht gut Deutsch) --- and 12 more slots to create solo characters and pretend to know a single word in French that hasn't already been absorbed into the English language. -
Quote:Do you mean Absorb Pain, from Empathy? Cos it can still do that.Actually, if you already had damage and you took a long fall it could kill you.
Dull pain could kill you if you were low enough on hit points when you fired it off (could be used to suicide in atlas park).
Dull Pain increases your HP and gives you a heal. I have no idea how it could kill you. -
They still send you all over the place because they're the same "old days" contacts and the same "old days" missions that they're talking about. If a contact hasn't had their missions revamped, then they are an "old days" contact, even if you can do it all today.
What they're talking about is revamped content (generally centralized) vs old content (sending you all over the place). -
There WAS a maintenance, because I was kicked off. It started at 4am Pacific. Routine maintenance is often very short, even though the window is two hours.

Uh, no. The thread I linked is not old. The last post in it, when I linked it, was yesterday. Since I linked it, there has been a new post.
Most of the threads about this issue are within a couple weeks old (especially since *issue 20 itself* is just a couple weeks old), which the mods don't consider necro. -
Oh wait, you are a helper. I think you're allowed to change your title color if you've selected helper.
edit: dammit, this was supposed to be an edit of the previous post but it is way too late/early for clicking the right buttons apparently.
edit2: welp, just attempted helper status on my corr and still don't have the color selectors.
edit3: game is going down for maintenance or I would poke around and test further. -
I don't have those color selectors on my lv50 corruptor (non-sideswitched villain made eons ago)

Quote:Temporary Power drops are separate from Mission Drops. Mission Drops are restricted to "Pool B" drops. These are all of the "Pool B" drops. You can also get Temp recipes as it turns out for the reward
Temporary Powers cannot be Mission Drop bonuses; Temporary Powers are dropped by defeating enemies. However, you can get a Temporary Power by defeating the last required enemy, and that makes it look like the Temporary Power was awarded by mission complete. However, it wasn't. -
There are (currently) five "game versions":
CoH NA
+ CoH NA Test
+ CoH Going Rogue
CoH EU
+ CoH EU Test
These are all separate installations, unless you want to jump through patching hoops each time you want to use a different installation. (In theory, you can use a single installation for all five; but you must use different shortcuts, and you will almost guaranteed need a patch-and-repair process each time you use that single installation for a different server-farm.) -
No, missions taken by a 50+1 are still level 50 missions, not level 51 missions. The enemies are judged off the mission rating. And +0 for a 50+1 is 50; -1 for a 50+1 is 49. So he'd be getting level 49 recipes at -1, except for mission-completion recipes (still level 50, since there is no longer such a thing as lv 51, 52, or 53 recipes).

You can do something like this:
/optionsave <-- for when you don't want to have a particular color (my default is gray)
/optionsavefile redoptions <-- villain red
/optionsavefile blueoptions <-- hero blue
/optionsavefile magentaoptions <-- a custom color you made in the last options tab
/optionsavefile polkadotoptions <-- itty bitty teeny weeny yellow polka dot windows
(ps, that last option isn't possible, City won't let us style our windows with polka dots. More's the shame!) -
I don't know the exact steps on Win7, but on XP:
1. Right click shortcut
2. Select Properties
3. Select Change Icon
4. Browse to find better image
5. OK, OK, OK. Voila, better icon!
I did this to change the NCLauncher icon into the CoH icon, since I don't use it to launch anything other than City. (Guild Wars has its own launcher.) -
Quote:Wow. Do you have hands big enough to palm a basketball or something? Cos that is just awkward stretching my fingers out like that. It might only be awkward because I've used WASD for so many, many, many years. And as has been said before, WASD has better access to the beginning of the number row, on which the majority of people arrange their biggest/best/fastest attacks.I can never understand why people use the WSAD instead of having forward be D, back be C, turn right be F, turn left be S and then have strafe be A and G like I use. This gives you a more central position on the keyboard so that you can branch out from the center for other controls as needed. Plus all your normal movement is on the homerow where your fingers naturally are anyway.
The WSAD pattern gets you cramped up in the upper left corner of the keyboard.
And for those who advocate ESDF instead because then "your fingers are on homerow", I am 100% touch typist (this is what happens when you are on computers for so many years) - and it takes me half a second to move my hand from WASD to ASDF for typing. -
Last night around 2am PDT, the forums locked up so hard that it kicked out my entire internet. I was browsing the internet just fine, visited the forums just fine for a few minutes, after which it took a huge crap, and then I couldn't load ANY website at all. I also couldn't load any of my internet-required applications (like City, Steam, etc.) which connect over a different port than HTTP, and can typically still connect if I'm having access issues to the forums, so my connection was totally hosed.
I called my provider (Comcast) and they jumpstarted my connection from their end (I guess stopping and restarting service? I have no idea, the tech just said they were going to try "jumpstarting my connection"), and the rest of the web was back. However, the City forums were still dead to me, although this time visiting the forum didn't crap out my actual internet connection.
Thanked the tech and hung up and went to bed instead of trying to figure anything out, because this is just friggen irritating at this point. -
I keep AD for strafing, and because City has been my main game for so many years, if another game (single, multi, or MMO) does it differently, I re-bind it to match. If I cannot change keybinds (there are very few games that don't let you do that), I typically don't last very long in that game since movement is arguably the most important part of a game.
