    Dear Santa

    Dear Santa

I've been a good boy this year! I only microwaved 3 hamsters and I haven't even touched any of my little sisters barbie dolls. I know you probably didn't like the way I dissected a few of them last year. I also donated a rock to the retarded child down the street, after that he had to go away though. It was neat because he left in a big white van with flashing lights on it! I also promise not to leave cookies rigged with mouse traps this year. Oh and dad made me go up on the roof and remove the caltraps. I was going to do it myself anyway though. So all I really want for Christmas this year is some pepper spray ok?

    Sincerely yours, little Jimmy.

    P.S: Remember the pepper spray!

Therms are support builds. This is the way the Devs designed them. Therms buff, heal, & help with debuffing. I have found that my /Thermal MM works his best when supporting other MMs.

The part about the MM being a "heavy hitter", are ya talking about burst damage here? I think you have the wrong AT my friend.

Oh, love your TF teams - by the way.
People run around with petless MM's, offensive tankers, and blappers, what's wrong with focusing Therm on debuff rather then buff?

That might be how society works, but it won't be how the game works. You will be a villain, you will be unable to access WWs or use Influence from what I remember. Heros in redside won't be able to access the Black Market or use Infamy. People might view you as a scary hero, but you will never be a "true blue" hero.

As for pain, what's the problem? If you're hero uses their control over pain to ease/reduce/remove it rather then inflict it (as in, pretty much the only thing they CAN do for some reason), then they are a "good person". The power you have doesn't make you evil because of what it is, the way you choose to use it does.
  9. I wouldn't toot my own horn by declaring other people as being angry with me so quickly. First off they make sense and I have to question the all around wisdom of "petless masterminds". Do people even do this? It's along the same lines as tanks who don't take their defense powers. The entire concept of the class is centered around it's pets. Personally, if I were leading the team, I wouldn't care so long as you pull your weight and help with the beatings. Failure to do that, or demonstration of idiocy above and beyond personal power preference will get you kicked out of course.

Yeah you can do it, yeah it's different, but so is dancing the salsa with a raw fish in your pants. Don't see many people striving for THAT level of difference do ya?
  10. Well two things. First off you are "going rogue" meaning you are still "villainous", just an upper class one that can walk through town without police pulling you over. Think the upper class mafia guys who the cops KNOW are dirty, but can't nab them for illegal activities because they are just that good. I forget the official term for villains going blueside but heros going red become vigilantes like Batman or Punisher.

Secondly, pain is a joke. I mean the entire set is based around removing/soothing pain rather then inflicting or anything remotely matching it's description. They should have done more then just rename Empathy for that set. But that is just personal taste.

I'm just lost on how you make a blaster that can survive in melee, thus my questioning on how to make one.

Sadly I won't know more until I preorder GR and get access to it in...what, 2 months or so? That should be enough time to figure out what to do.
You basically DON'T make a blapper that can survive in melee. Blappers try to kill everything before they get killed, that is their goal. And even if you have a tank near by to taunt everything off you, you will die horrible painful death in spawns that favor aoe damage.

Blapping can be fun, don't get me wrong. However it takes experience to make it fun, and patience since you have no KB prot until at LEAST 20 (assuming you don't get stamina at 20 that is), and only if you choose the SJ travel power set. And my vote is elec/elec for great blappage. Though I think elec/energy would also make a very good blapper.
  12. I favor /devices. My Energy/Devices blaster is the first one I actually kept with either power set. Since neither set rellies on blapping very well (and in fact both sets are anti blappers) they fit very nicely together. Devices helps mitigate any AE defficiencies that energy has, gives you much more reliable accuracy (making aim unneccessary). And popping a mine down is fair compensation for the lack of a power up. For a mine you get 20% boost to damage for 7+ seconds (defiance), a back up in case enemies charge into melee with you, and you can use it every fight if needed. The stealth is infinately useful, the smoke bomb is very handy, and even the web grenade makes air superiority a pointless trick since it too drops fliers.

Smokebomb + Cloak + trip mine at the baddies feet + Nova = dead spawn.

It may not be my most powerful character, but it feels more powerful than any other. very fun.
Have to agree, Earth/Storm/Stone is a very awe inspiring combination.

Not only does the newly updated Character Creator allow players to jump directly between Archetype, Powersets, Costumes and Character ID in any order without losing progress, but it also allows you to select your colors and theme for each individual power or apply it to the entire powerset. These themes will allow for color tinting of geometry and particle effects such as energy blast colors and force field colors. The primary and secondary colors of any power effect can be changed individually for each power in the set.

Am I reading this right? Does this say we will be able to change an Ax/WP brute to a fire/fire corruptor at lvl 38 and not lose anything? If so, I'm not really sure what to think about that. so....am I reading that right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope what it is saying is that during character CREATION, you can jump between the various screens that you have to run through. So if you decide to make a techno blaster and pick fire/devices and get to the model screen and decide you want a magic blaster that is ice/ice, you can jump to whatever screen you want to go to rather then hitting back back back click click click.

I can't wait, I usually have to run back and chance origin or some other thing because I changed my mind about the character I'm making entirely.

But unlike my poor analogy, I'd say 90% of the AEers are farmers.

And I'd say you're delusional. The farmers are a minority, just an obnoxiously visible one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is a hysterical laugh! For the record, just because that mission "my friend" made is a single large map that just happens to be populated by a large number of bosses and or lieutenants doesn't make it a farm... He only made the map and has no control over who does what with it!

It's fairly clear that prior to the major tearing down of the boss farms and (thank the good lord jebus chris!) the bubble farms, farming was EXACTLY what the greater majority of people were doing.

Remember kids, they are only obnoxiously noisy because they represent more then half the room.
