I actually have enough server transfers built up to bring over one of my MMs from Virtue for this and send him back. And I'm tempted to do so just to watch the server (and Rikti) burn.
Oh yes this will be a fun day... -
Or they could throw MMs a customization bone and make all of those skins under the name of "Beast Mastery"
-
You can never have enough -ToHit. Definitely Darkity Dark Darkness all the way for me.
-
Mordres - A dark elf necromancer from another dimension on the quest for ultimate power. His ultimate goal is to set himself up somewhere as either the ruler of an entire world, or as the primary villainous force of darkness in a tower somewhere. His role models include Sauron and Lord D'tesh. He's incredibly self-aware and knows that most of his goals are petty and pretty unjustifiable with the line of reasoning that "Someone has to be the bad guy, so why not me? They have it pretty good."
He's a weird combination of "In it for the challenge", "In it for himself", "A higher calling", and "Why the hell not?"
Servitis - A "demon", in as much as he can be called one. The Archdemon of Business, who came to Primal Earth on vacation. Said vacation has really mellowed him out, as the people he's interacted with have shown him what kind of pain he can cause people when he goes whole hog. He's still "evil", since as a demon he's contractually obligated to do terrible things, but he tries to temper it with benefits and choice.
Definitely a "higher purpose" villain, albeit one that doesn't agree with said higher power. An angel has commented that Servitis would probably rise above his hellish origins if he weren't so damned determined to be a demon like he's "supposed" to be. -
As someone who inadvertently wrote the conflict between many major Gods as a plot in a setting he's working on, I'll go ahead and throw my way into the ring.
My one God character that I have, who is THE God of Time (it makes sense and doesn't step on anybody's toes but I don't want to go into that here) is not technically himself in CoX. Since having a God of that level, second only to the Big Man himself, step into Paragon like that would kind of screw everything over, he's limited to manifesting only a portion of that power in this world. Granted, that "portion" is still a near-fully incarnated (I'm lazy), fully built, Grav/Time controller who can bend reality like a spoon, but in addition to not having access to all of his godly faculties, there are also certain rules laid down by the Big Man that he's not willing to break unless existence itself is threatened. By using these two restrictions, I basically have a God character who is a God in fact and name, but not in power, because of bureaucratic red tape.
TL;DR: There are Rules and he can't use all his powers.
(Yes, inadvertently. My setting kind of got away from me for a bit.) -
I see a lot of TW/Elec, but I'm wondering about the synergy that TW has with other sets. Is there any reason Elec is picked over something like WP? What do other sets have that works well with TW?
-
I didn't do it at lower levels, but my /time controller is capable of tanking most content now at 50. Later you'll definitely want to be taking the alpha instead of your squishy little thugs.
-
Most pet classes I see in other MMOs have a ranged and melee "stance" for their minions so those damned Protector Bots don't decide to hug Siege and get decimated.
"Stay at Range" and "Stay in Melee" commands are all I want. I don't mind the relative lack of customization. I make it work for me. -
Controllers have the same issue. Hoping this gets fixed soon, as I was kind of looking at a poison as my next project.
-
Could you explain please? I'm not too familiar with claws.
-
Why is this not possible? I just noticed it while making a character.

I tried slotting my Necro/Dark for defenses once. It didn't work and was sacrificing too much singular power strength for gimmicky set bonuses. So I focused instead on recharge, to throw around my favorite power more often (Fearsome Stare), and -tohit. It works just as well and is a much more fun, active play style.
Granted, ambushes kind of screw me over if I can't debuff them properly, since my build relies on dropping Fearsome Stare before the alpha, but you I through normal groups and AVs/GMs like nothing. -
Meh. I went Human for concept and I enjoy not having the slot crunch or having to stance-dance. That's just me, though.
-
Ahk. Well good. Glad you figured it out. Always glad to see someone enjoying the absolute destruction that is Human WS. We do everything and don't need our danged forms (No offense, DK :P)
-
As a pseudo-pro Human Form WS, I will offer you my 1 cent.
Slotted Stygian Circle is a thing of beauty. I have a Eff. Adapter set in it and I *never* have blue problems. Ever.
Might be something to look into. -
I read the title and thought "It's hard to slot powers with generic IOs?" ;P

Just checked the detailed info on Shadow Bolt. Both the speed slow and recharge slow components say they ignore buffs and enhancements. So either it accepts an enhancement set that does nothing for it, or the detailed info is bugged, which is actually more likely.
-
Ignores buffs and enhancements. So why does the bloody power accept Slow IO sets?! o.O
Not that I care. I use the power as a set mule anyway. Just curious. -
Quote:I know this is slightly late, but I kind of forgot I made this threadAlso, I'd love to know why a simple change of the name is completely out of the question.
Anyways, the character is part of an overarching story that has spanned several games and quite a few short stories so far, so a name change is completely out of the question. -
I've always thought we need a way to clear up names that are being sat on, but it finally came to a head for me today with this ludicrous little event.
I was rolling a character for an upcoming storyline I'm doing with some friends only to find out the name I wanted, which *is* the name of the character and cannot be negotiated, is taken. On a whim, I do /getglobalname to see who has the name since I've never seen it on the server before and thought maybe I could convince the person to give up the name if they don't use it.
Only problem being that the name is being sat on by an expired trial account...
Can we at least do something about that? I realize the whole name-sitting thing is a touchy subject, but me losing the name I really wanted to someone who doesn't even PLAY the game is freaking ludicrous. -
REALLY obscure piece of backstory, and I don't remember where it's from but:
I heard a while back that comics are just as common in Paragon City as they are in our world. Instead of focusing on superheroes though, since heroes are so common in Paragon, they instead focus on other genres such as mysteries and romance. -
Personally, I love Body mastery on my SS/WP. The only thing that makes my blue bar even waver is sappers and Mu. The only issue I've ever had with my end was a x8 mish of nothing but Mu mobs :P
