Human Form Warshade: Single Target attack chain
Hi Two Headed Boy,
Remember me?
As a long standing Human Form shade i feel im well versed to launch my 2 cents in your direction and see what you think .... but this is what i would do to this build not major changes just some slot moving
Im assuming money is no object for you based on you build! * envy's* but i havnt really added anything of real value anyways
Build Notes:
More defense
More recharge
More Recovery
+6% to hit
*dropped provoke... dont know if that would be an issue*

***Editing my OP, as your post brought to my attention that Absolute Amazement wasn't included in it when it should have been. I was doing some last minute changes before posting, deciding where to put it, and I ultimately decided to put it into grav emanation (leaving the proc in Inky) since stupefy has a better endurance value***
Thanks for your time... But yeah, Provoke is pretty important to me. Pets are the main source of my DPS and I like to use all the tools available to keep them alive for as long as possible. The extra spot for the 5th LOTG is nice, but for me Provoke is too valuable a tool to lose. Maybe I'll change my mind at some point...
I guess the extra defense slot in Vengeance isn't really needed, so I'll consider moving that somewhere else. I'm not sure how I feel about two-slotting stygian circle and health on a build that's already hard up for slots. After I caught the mistake I made in my OP and put Absolute Amazement back where it belonged, our builds only have a difference of ~3% recharge, that's without me losing provoke and you having the extra LOTG (The taunt set I used provides a 5% bonus)
As for money not being an object, that's only because my Warshade is pretty much the only character I play, my Peacebringer being my second most played gets about a third of the play time (and there are regulars on the Kheldian board who can confirm this ) so I devote about 99% of my cash flow into this build.
Another edit: I noticed your slotting for Eclipse. I guess you aren't aware of the relatively new discovery made on the boards, wherein Two Nucleo's and Two Common Recharge IO's let you cap Resistance with only 5 targets while retaining very good accuracy to boot... It's the best slotting for Eclipse out there (though it doesn't show in Mid's)
No Dark Detonation? While it may scatter, those that arent dead -do- run back to melee range. Its as nice aoe every 5 seconds when youre surrounded...
-Curious
Nice defense though.

And why worry so much about smashing/lethal if you have mel/ran/aoe? -Curious |
Notice the amounts of defense I have to positions vs. s/l. Sure, the ~20% positional defense is nice to have for exotic types and that's why it's there, but the 35% s/l means that I will be beyond the softcap to most enemies' attacks with one small purple (not that the softcap is as important with hardcapped resists, but still there isn't always Eclipse food around.)
edit/update: I'm on Beta now doing some playing around. I noticed that I had two Nucleo's in Orbiting death instead of a Nucleo and an Endurance reduction. I changed that to match the build I posted, and decided to give Relativity Be Damned a spin. I set up a "target Tarantula Mistress>exec Gravity Well" Macro, and for the first time ever my Warshade is able to solo Arachnos on 54x8 w/bosses... I'm feeling pretty good right now.
And I just noticed you redacted your defense comment.
As a pseudo-pro Human Form WS, I will offer you my 1 cent.
Slotted Stygian Circle is a thing of beauty. I have a Eff. Adapter set in it and I *never* have blue problems. Ever.
Might be something to look into.

Ahk. Well good. Glad you figured it out. Always glad to see someone enjoying the absolute destruction that is Human WS. We do everything and don't need our danged forms (No offense, DK :P)

Meh. I went Human for concept and I enjoy not having the slot crunch or having to stance-dance. That's just me, though.

I do wish I didn't have to worry about slotting, though. It's always a pain having to weigh the cost/benefit of moving a slot on a tri-form.
*I used to be a human form player myself, but it wasn't a monster build like TwoHeadedBoys, and it was just too slow paced for me.
I personally prefer dancing through the forms*, because it let's me conceptualize a gracefully spinning alien spinning through forms and laying waste to the foes around her. Granted, it's not really graceful in game, but I can squint and pretend!

I've got a PB where I'm trying to learn the forms, but it's slow going. REALLY wish form shifting was a lot faster.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
THB, TBH I got some things we can do, THB
-You don't need the third slot in Hasten for perma.
-You can get a tiny bit more damage out of Grav Well by swapping the Heca Acc/Rech for the Damage one (you will still have enough recharge to fit in your chain easy, and your acc should be fine, especially with perma mire).
-As you will probably never use Ebon Eye, I would take that Apoc Damage and put it in Shadow Blast (replace the Acc/Dam/Rech with it in SBlast)
-The AA: chance for -tohit is really crappy, but that's just an opinion.
-I'm concerned about your survival in a no-eclipse fodder scenario without the human shields; from what you are saying it seems your defense covers it though?
-You might get more mileage out of an Efficacy Adapter: Endredux/Endmod in Stygian circle.

edit: Do you think losing the accuracy slotting would still leave it good enough against an AV as the only Mire target? I'm also thinking of switching out assault for tactics, so maybe that will do the trick too?

I think I'm going to stick with the recharge IO in stygian circle, it's nice to have it up a bit quicker in a pinch.
Thanks for the feedback
Here is the latest revision... Not much has changed, just some tweaks. I've thought of pulling the Endo from Gravimetric Snare in order to drop a proc in Unchain Essence? I'm not sure if I'd want to lose the Immobilize values though, that slotting is there for AV's.

Just curious: Why the +Perception in Tactics? If it's just for blinds isn't tactics enough?
I mean, it's not like the tohit/recharge is that much better anyway. Shame Reticle doesn't have an /end option.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Another edit: I noticed your slotting for Eclipse. I guess you aren't aware of the relatively new discovery made on the boards, wherein Two Nucleo's and Two Common Recharge IO's let you cap Resistance with only 5 targets while retaining very good accuracy to boot... It's the best slotting for Eclipse out there (though it doesn't show in Mid's) |
think you could lob me a link to where you found this please?
I am very very interested in this ! trouble is i cant seem to find this info anywhere

Oh wait, I don't think he's officially launched yet.
Just ask Microcosm He's our wizard in residence.

So, if I'm understanding you, tactics is a set mule not intended to be turned on, so the reticule +percept actually has a purpose 'cause it works while you have the power turned off? Hmm. Interesting build choice. Things like that are why I copy builds rather than make them.

Right, tactics is never run. The perception IO is for seeing stealthy foes, though. It seems you're confusing it with the Kismet IO.
I've been seriously considering switching to a human form build once I finish up collecting the last 'ingredients' IO wise. I put together a build that I was very happy with, and spent the better part of the afternoon running around beta with it... Let me tell you, I was impressed. I soloed every enemy group the Newspaper threw at me on 54x8 with bosses, notably Malta, never using a single purple, orange, or red inspiration. Orbiting Death was a thing of beauty, I never expected it to destroy stuff like it did.
First of all, this build definitely destroys hard bosses WAY faster than my tri form build, and with much more safety. I was able to kill a level 54 Zeus Titan who was all alone without Eclipse or Mire active... It felt pretty good to be able to stand there and just beat him into submission.
There was one problem though. I was absolutely devouring blue inspirations. Devouring them, I say. My attack chain was pretty much G Well>S Blast>E Drain>S Blast... But Gravity Well and Essence Drain were giant endurance drains, let me tell you. That on top of running toggles that are helping to keep me alive and not having Stygian Circle food against single hard targets (the main and very prominent weakness in my tri form builds, a big part of the inspiration for the switch) left me sucking wind a couple times.
So anyways, I'm going to post up the build. The survivability is ungodly, (typed defenses go up by about 5% in game... Mids is only showing positional defense from Shadow Cloak) the recharge is just right, and I'm really pretty happy with all of the enhancement values (aside from the aforementioned endurance issues against ST's.) Any help/ideas for my minor hitch would be appreciated... I really wanna get this thing right ahead of time so I can be good to go on live when I finish buying the last items.
