  1. Oddly enough the model 460 is superior to the 550. IF you still have the C2D processor and DDR2 memory I too would go no higher than 460 Nvidia and expect medium settings in most 'current' games w/ a 19" monitor at most.
Even if you had a GTX 680 or higher your current hardwares would bottleneck the cards ability to perform at its full rate.
  2. A few that are fairly ruff (dependent on build) Cimerorian "paper" mission 4x8,

Tip mission in Gville fighting Kheldians PB's & Rularuu (sorry can't think of the exact name of it)

The Snake Mission from Mercy would prolly be hard too although I'm not sure how to locate it at this time.

As for heroes I'm betting there is a mission fighting against the *new" clockworks that might be worthy hence their debuffs.

Also, there are some amazing AE story arcs that have incredible foes with arrays of powers that can put you to the test and beyond. Unfortunately I have no specific arc numbers anymore lol

Rock on! With your badself !
  3. In account management page is lists with exact specificity how long I've played starting from 2004.
What is the problem with using the information they obviously have to just continue with certain Veteran badges?
  4. U could do it for 500 dollars if you decided to run each account on the lowest gfx settings possible. Your real focus is going to be a good quad core; at least i5 2500k and I'd suggest no less than 16gbs of ram. You'll only run into issues if you raise graphic settings and can't accomidate for system memory.
Also, getting an SSD will really help you in load times and running each instance of Coh too. You don't need anything ultra expensive either in that dept.
  5. Have you tried to just hit Print Screen and let it go into coh / screenshots folder instead of some 3rd party capture?
  6. Umm.. yeah maybe it's the wrong place.
Umm.. also I'm really a fan of it and think it's also a very worthy set. I thought that was clear from the start.
So some of you don't see the clear difference between water effects in zone (ultra settings*) and the "grainy wind" look to the Water Powerset!? The zones water in certain places looks exceptional by any gaming standard of 2012. Our new powerset does not. At least for me.
Again, it's doable visually for me and yes, I'd even say phenominal in effectiveness.

Gotta admit that if wasn't completely addicted to this game I would have left once VIP suscriptions didn't include new updates too.
  8. Just a quick few thoughts on Water Blast powerset.
I really think that overall this set offers some great fun and plenty of effectiveness, even the sounds are really enticing. However do any of you feel like me that the visuals are less than even good? To me even while using Ultra settings it looks more like 'grainy wind' than actual water :/ Of course I still have a brain and can piece together what the devs. attempted to create and pretend it looks like water but it doesn't really.
Again, I think that all aspects of this new set are plentiful and great except the visuals. I'm only attempting to create some dialogue to see if I'm alone or to create momentum for future updates of higher caliber.

Note: The water inside zones and missions looks exceptional in Ultra Mode. I love the way Founders Falls water looks the most, from the air especially!
  9. I too have always felt protected here as well. Although I have wondered if that would change if Coh was an extremely popular MMO with high millions of players too.

    New PC build

I completely agree that the Ivy Bridge is quite perfect for gaming, either the i5 or i7.
I currently have the Ivy i7 3770k at 4.5 Ghz with a cooler quite similar to your first choice and believe me that around 1.33+ volts it's very hard to maintain temps. under a full load.
However, depending on the 'luck of the draw', what is often referred to as the 'silcon lottery' you may find a chip that can do 4.5ghz at a much lower voltage; say around 1.25 or even 1.22volts. "Ivy hates voltage!" 'So to speak!' My chip is average with my Asus z77deluxe board it requires at least 1.34 to run 4.5ghz stable. My cooler is the Noctua DH-14 (which is a monster in size and in efficiency) and allows decent temps at this range while gaming and stress testing when ambient temps. are around 21-25 celcius.
It's my opinion that your last choice for a cpu cooler will surely allow you around 4.2Ghz with ease, furthermore most/all z77 Asus boards have a "TPU Switch" on the board itself. Click it and restart the pc and boom you're at 4.2Ghz. I've tried manual OC, TPU and even the Asus Turbo Evo software. I'm currently at 4.5Ghz with an offset of (I believe) 0.045. With LLC at Extreme, and power saving options completely off. I suspect I could do 0.040 and be stable at this frequency but just haven't focussed on it yet.
I've included a screenshot of my CPUID for a general reference.

What kind of ******** logic is this? ^^ Joke or just foolishness??? C'mon.

Well, it looks like its the drivers. I'd stick with what is stable and hope the next driver release makes things more stable.
    ..
  12. Currently I have a high end system that plays this game flawlessly. My ingame settings only differ from having FSAA on 2x and Enviromental Reflections are on second to last setting @ 1920x1080. Again, it's completely reasonable for your CPU+GPU+RAM to give spectacular results even in ULTRA mode, even on Full TPN, BAFs etc etc
For such a wonderful game especially in ULTRA settings (even on full League trials) I'd never personally accept inferior performance with great technology. BSOD errors are only great in one regard you can ultimately find exactly what is causing them and implement a fix.
A few things I tend to do are 1. Update the OS 2. Update Drivers 3. Test for stability and run general benchmark software/s with a focus on scores. Most benchmarks will make it easy to show if your scoring in concurrence with your specific hardwares.
If the above showed stability I'd assume my specific application/game/software was the culprit and resintall.
    Final thought:
No matter what game, no matter how high ingame settings a properly configured pc would not just BSOD. I'd accept a crash back to OS/ Windows perhaps.
    Good luck and fantastic pc!
  13. Like the last posters comment: Are you overclocked at all, even with the BLK ?
I think the 3820 is max. turbo @ 3.8, perhaps you are while being at 4.1Ghz in your original post.
Please clear cmos and then enter bios to just change your Memory frequency then reboot. I'm not suggesting you couldn't even hit higher frequency with proper cooling, it's just a great idea to start with a stable baseline. City might run great at stock, then you could go up from there.
  14. Any chance your pc will grant you access into the game through safe mode?
Your settings look quite high at the moment. This might be taxing your system even on the login screens. It can be quite demanding to render/run even while not yet in the game completely.
  15. on the nvidia side i'd stick around GTX 570 or GTX 560Ti with your current CPU

    Ram Drive

For things like browser caches, scratch disks, etc, RAM disks excel. For larger loads like games...not so much.
Some softwares for creating Ram Disks are persistent. Check out Superspeed.

I think it's worth a total try. Unfortunately I don't have enough ram to test for results. Here is an excellent video on the above question though. Good luck.

Btw, this RAMDISK software (superspeed) does keep it per reboot.

  18. With that ancient dual core and 'basic' video card it's best to not use such high settings for regular game play without expecting low frame rates, to say the least. Some of the ones you have selected require a good deal of "power" to run. Perhaps your heating up your components and they lack efficient cooling.
As far as requiring a cold reboot that would throw me for a loop too. I'd surely start with monitoring temperatures at idle states and full load. Each component has a max. temperature for full load etc. I'd also be sure that my Power Supply is capable of running each component efficiently.

Oh! One great program that has a free version that I've come to find perfect is Superantispyware. Very funny name to me but does a great job for even some of the more persistent forms of adware that I've come across.
  19. Sounds like you know exactly what you're doing.. Good for you, and screw the rest of these "suggestions" lol
  20. Turn off Anisoptropic Filtering and all other advanced features, especially Ultra mode settings. This I'm assuming will help you with your issues. Even if it doesn't I'm certain your particular cpu/ram/gpu cannot relish some of the settings you have on in this Coh helper file.
  21. Hey,
I always find myself filled with enthusiasm surrounding Pc-builds. In no way do I intend to discourage you from this build, but did you also know that Intel Ivy Bridge Chips Launching Early April 2012 ?
Keep that in mind too. It might pain you to buy the second gen i5 2500k when the third gen is right around the corner. And, yes, I do agree the i5 2500k is a monster of a gaming chip- especially when OC'd.

You also might want to make sure your motherboard could in the future upgrade to Ivy 22nm architecture.
  22. That site has the maxium as a video adatper 560m? If so, none of them will be able to max. Ultra mode; especially during Trials.
  23. I agree 4 days without any response is complete ********. 7+ years, current VIP
May I ask what your issue is or what?
  24. Please try and have your friend change his desktop resolution to the lowest and then restart the game, once inside the game have him go to windowed mode and adjust all of his ingame settings and log from the game, then change the desktop back to its default, then reload the game
  25. Same here. Although Windows seems to remember it. I still have to readd it each time.
Honestly as a consumer small erroneous things like this reall add up and choke the &*() outta my fun.
